Their first official case as a task force doesn’t take Brantley Walker and Reese Tavoularis far from home. Getting right down to business, the Off the Books task force prioritizes a case of a fifteen-year-old girl who went missing nine years earlier from the same small town they grew up in: Coyote Ridge, Texas. While it appears she vanished without a trace, they soon find themselves uncovering … uncovering disturbing evidence that points directly to someone the town once trusted.
While Brantley and Reese set out to find closure for the girl’s family, they’re on a bumpy ride of their own. Not only are they embarking on new careers, they are also venturing into uncharted territory as far as their relationship goes.

Book 2 in the Brantley Walker: Off the books series and once again this was book I couldn’t put down, I’m loving everything about this series, the new characters, the cameo appearances from old favourites but I guess most importantly I love the suspense that’s a big part of these stories. This book picks up and follows the continued growth of Brantley and Reese‘S relationship as well as giving us the first mission for the newly formed task force. Reese and Brantley find themselves exploring their new feelings and their relationship whilst working together 24/7, not the ideal situation for something new so will the obstacles they need to overcome in their love life as well as their working day be just to much, will they be pushed apart or will they be thrown together…….
This book ticked all my boxes, it has the perfect mix of love and suspense and as always it’s hot and steamy down in Coyote Ridge and I’m not just talking about the weather, this series is shaping up to be one that will be read and re read and I can’t wait to see where we go with book 3.
Next level amazing!! Gahhh Nicole Edwards has done it YET AGAIN! There isn’t a book of hers that I haven’t absolutely loved, but I think this one is up there with my top 5! I was hooked from the get go with Brantley and Reese. Seeing the soft side of 2 strong, bada$$ heroes is something I always love to read about. The chemistry is off the charts. The banter is entertaining. And the suspense is page turning. If you haven’t been introduced to Nicole’s world of literacy what are you waiting for?! Read them ALL!
Nicole Edwards does not disappoint!!! Brantley and Reese are just as hot in this book as the first, even though Reese has a freak out moment that causes heartbreak to both of them. The task force they created does a great job working together and solving their first official case. Can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Received an advance copy from the author.
The second book in the Brantley Walker: Off the Books series, Mission: Without a Trace is a MM story featuring Brantley Walker and Reese Travoulasis. This edge of your seat story is action-packed and you are inexplicable drawn into the story. It has a great mix of attraction, suspense, explosive chemistry, mystery and explicit scenes.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
Hot Alpha men, steamy moments, and the perfect amount of intrigue kept my full and undivided attention as I dove into Mission: Without a Trace, the second book in the Brantley Walker: Off the Books series! And it did not disappoint!
This is the first mission set forth for this newly formed task force and it is also the opportunity for Brantley Walker and Reese Tavoularis to get to not only work together but also get to know each other better and see where this off the charts attraction between them will go. They have obstacles to overcome both on the job and in their relationship and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story as it all played out.
This series is off to a great start and I can’t wait for what is coming next!
Oh my, another great book in this series. This is book two and the task force is just beginning and working on a missing person’s case. The heat and chemistry between Brantley and Reese is so hot it burns the pages up. I have enjoyed watching these two fall in love and try to navigate their new relationship. We had a new character join the bunch, Baz, he was great and seeing him and JJ interact was awesome. I really enjoyed this book and can not wait for the next one.
4.5 Amazing stars
In Without A Trace we see the continuation of Brantley and Reese’s fledgling relationship and the first official case of the ‘Governor’ s Task Force’.
The ‘team’ of Brantley, J.J. and Reece prove formidable in the solving of this, long forgotten case. Pulling at threads and questioning nuances that those who have asked before, have dismissed.
Do not despair though, in true Nicole Edwards fashion, there are also numerous sub plots all beautifully bubbling away in the background, which are nurtured and tended and, when the time is right, we have a well timed, beautifully
prepared feast of words that will be devoured by hungry readers.
Brantley and Reese’s developing feelings are not ignored for the sake of the ‘investigation’ with both main storylines dovetailing quite naturally.
I sincerely hope that this magical marriage between these amazing characters and the job they do continues for many more novels to come.
Mission Without a Trace is the second book in the Off The Books series. I am sitting here with my mind blown, as I just got through reading it and I’m writing my review. So. Freaking. Awesome.
I’m going to divide my review into 2 parts, first Brantley and Reese.
Bumpy ride is right according to the prologue. Things seem to be ok, then Reese panics, not once but twice. Of course Brantley’s hurt by this but it takes time and things slowly get right. Major surprises with them.
Second part the case. They take the cold case file of the missing girl who was a friend of the Governor’s family. What ensues is so much drama and action that I literally didn’t want to stop reading. The revelations with this case blew my mind!!
If you haven’t read this series yet, What. Are. You. Waiting. For?
We get more drama with JJ and Dante again, I really wanted to knock his head off. We also get a detective who helps out and might be an important person in coming books.
I am absolutely loving this new series and I’m already chomping at the bit for the next book.
5 Star Review Mission: Without A Trace (Brantley Walker: Off The Books #2) by Nicole Edwards
The second book in the latest series from Nicole Edwards and I simply could not put it down. I am so loving the direction she is going with this series; from the first to the last chapter, I was hooked.
This is Brantley Walker and Reese Tavoularis’s first official “Off The Books Task Force” case and it was a gripping read. Not only are they finding their way professionally, but they are in new territory personally as Reese struggles to come to terms with his attraction for Brantley.
As I have come to expect from a Nicole Edward’s book, particularly her MM stories, it was smoking hot, add in the suspense and I was on the edge of my seat for the majority of the book. You cannot help but become invested as Ms. Edwards wove so many twists and turns into the story.
Will the ease that they work so well together flow over to their private relationship or will Reese decide that he cannot commit to Brantley? You could feel the emotions as Reese continues on his journey of self discovery.
In this second book in the series the newly formed task force decides their first case will be one that hits close to home. They investigate a missing persons case from their hometown that is nine years old and has gone cold. Brantley & Reese have figured out that they work very well together when it comes to investigating the case. They offset each other well, now they just need to see if that will continue into their persona; relationship. As they continue to question the people that last saw the girl there are looking for they unknowingly tip off the person that took her and that leads to a new missing persons case for the team to look into as well. Through all this Reese is dealing with his uncertainty regarding his relationship with Brantley and doesn’t handle it well. Will all the pressure from the task force & their relationship be too much for them to handle? Can they figure out who they talked too and spooked into kidnapping someone new before it is too late? This second installment in the series was great. It had the perfect mix of action, mystery, romance & sexy times with two hot alpha men. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
5 stars
Reese and Brantley are book in this second book in this series. There task force is still in its infancy but they are handed another case. Nine years ago, a fifteen year old, from their hometown, goes missing and no trace can be found. They reinterview people and look for clues but they are not really getting anywhere, the governor’s daughter goes missing. Since the governor selected Brantley for this task force, they are called first. As they gather evidence, they soon realize it could be related to the missing girl they are searching for. Can they find the governor’s daughter and give the other family closure?
Excellent story with no cliffhanger. Mystery and sex. Reese was a lady’s man for years and suddenly finds himself attracted to Brantley. He doesn’t know how he feels so he makes several mistakes. Brantley on the other hand has always been attracted to men but he’s never felt the way he does until Reese. Be prepared for explicit sexual content. M/M. Also I hope JJ gets her own book .
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for the author *
5 flaming hot stars!! Holy wow!! I am just loving this sexy new series and the hot, steamy blossoming relationship between Brantley and Reese. Their chemistry is nuclear level! But there is also an emotional aspect of Reese coming to terms with everything and how that also makes Brantley feel.
The case they were working on together was interesting and it was cool seeing what each of them brought to the table as well as JJ. We also meet Baz, a new character we are introduced to who has his sights set on JJ and is helping out on the case.
This was a very entertaining story! I really enjoyed it! I look forward to their next case and continuing to watch these two men fall in love.
