Wow buddy things are really heating up for Macey and boys this time. She has to save Flint after he loses his flame which makes for some great surprises I must say. The army is finally gathered to deal with the Mahoun as well which I must say makes for a fascinating conclusion. Full of twists, turns, and surprise in between the steamy scenes that will really keep you hooked on the evolving story line. Great for fans of the genre or just Kelpie’s in general. I totally loved this one so I give it 5/5 stars.
Macey and her men are on a continuing mission.. One crisis at a time. Then one of her men is injured and loses his power. Now it;s up to her to help him get his power back again. To that she must go on a mission to find the lampads, the daughters of Nyx. She needs to retrieve the flame to bring Flint back. So to London with her remaining men she goes. There she finds a daemon who is to be her guide or guard…Now she faces her toughest test as she is led towards the lampads. Test after test and it is hard for her. Fantastic story that will have the reader holding their breathe throughout.

I’ve read a lot of books written by Laura Greenwood; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
This is part of the Seven Wardens Series; the story continues with another installment of the series. All the books have a interesting story line.

After writing about the last book that Macey seemed to be improving and maturing, now I feel like I need to eat my words as she seems to have regressed in this book to her former ways of jealousy, abrasiveness. and whining. So disappointing. The battle was another disappointment. After all the build-up and effort and waiting, the readers don’t get the big pay-off. Instead of a big bang, it was more like a little pop, and I feel a little cheated there. Still, I love the universe and characters (except Macey sometimes), and I’m in for future books.

Macey is on a quest to get fire for Flint, who lost his element and is dying. She faces her doubts about herself and retrieves it in time to save him. The element tattoos bring up more questions and more mythology is added in characters and beliefs. A battle is going to happen and they are working on plans, including the tattoos.

When will the Wardens get their Waffles? Back at it the Wardens are still working on saving the Earth and its many peoples and the army is gathered to deal with the Mahoun. This turn makes for a fascinating conclusion full of twists, turns, and surprise in between the steamy scenes that will really keep you hooked until the end.
Still a well written plot with a vivid world building and characters I can sense and really get into!
‘Within the Flames’ is the fourth book in Laura Greenwood and Skye MacKinnon’s “Seven Wardens” series and I have to say, this one has more of epic fantasy feel than previously. Fast-paced, filled with humor, action-adventure combined with a steamy romance makes this a hard one to put down. There are loads of mythological beings from around the world introduced as the storyline focuses on Flint losing his magic and Macey on a quest to help him. Oh, let me not forget the final battle with the Malhoun. If you’ve enjoyed the series so far, don’t fret, there’s still more to come and I can’t see where our authors take me next.
Macey is waiting outside the bedroom that has Flint lying on a bed being looked at by a kelpie physician. When the physician finally comes out of the room, he tells Macey that it does not look good so she goes in to talk to Flint. When Maya suggests a lampad, Flint says it might work so off to see Malan she goes. This is the start of the adventure that sends Maya to the Underground of London for a lampad flame to save Flint so they can go and fight Mahoun. There is plenty of action in this story plus there is romance and plenty of steam and ending in a cliffhanger. Highly recommended.

This fourth book is full of test for Macey and her crew. They have to find the Lampads to help cure Flint, then they have to figure out a way to defeat Mahoun. This book made me laugh out loud and cringe at times. The ending of this book was not very clear, you really don’t get to know what happened to Mahoun. By favourite saying in all the books so far is “by the waves”. I am also glad that the newest character Luc is staying. A good read but confusing for me at the end.

On the Brink of Battle . . .
With her allies assembled to battle the evil, Macey has to save Flint after he loses his flame. Because he is one of the Wardens, without him involved in the battle, defeating Mahoun may not happen! Can Macey find a way to fix this situation? Or has Mahoun already won by default?
Macey goes in search of a way to restore Flints powers and meets the Lampads. To meet them she is sent on a quest, the guys are able to go with her only a portion of the way… on her own she must get thru a fire tunnel. The tunnel triggers her self worth issues and a bit of self doubt she still has… she makes it thru and her hands are blistered. She speaks with the Lampad and she sends Macey home with blistered hands and a fire within…she bursts thru the Staran right at Malans home and runs in to see Flint almost dead. She places the fire into Flint but she doesn’t think it works and has a mini breakdown. Flint comes to her and gets her to calm down and then they are planning their attack on The Voice. In the tunnels she met Lucian, a daimon, who is her guide. Next they try and tackle the fact that Macey has all the tattoos for the elements and that maybe that means she should know how to wield them all….theory at the moment. At the end she asks the kelpies about her brothers and they indicate that they’ve seen and talked to them and they were there before they left for this journey. Macey is perplexed and confused, thinking and knowing she’d heard and was told they were being held captive by The Voice. She gives a short speech before they head into the frey…..but they want Macey to try and access her tattoo magic before they leave…. Macey has a talk with Lucian about her tattoos and he helps unlock the last one, which opens the portal that’ll take them to The Voice….. more action to come!

This was a wonderful story! I couldn’t put it down. I have really enjoyed this series so far.
Macey needs to help one of her men out. He needs help to jump start his Fire power again. They need him for the coming battles. She travels to London where she picks up Luc, a damion who is also her guide. She has to prove herself worthy before she may speak with the Lampad. The Wardens are traveling back to where Amber and Macey were kept to destroy Mahoun. With the help of their allies that they have picked up along the way, will they manage to defeat him?

This is book four of the Seven Wardens series and sees Macey and her fellow Wardens facing a massive problem, just before they were to face off against the Mahoun and all his dark evil. One of the Wardens went out to seek allies from the Seelies, but came back without their magic. It had been taken from them, but with no idea of who had done it or why. Before they face off against the Mahoun, they must get this magic back. Her Daimon guide Luc can give her advice on where she can find the answer she seeks, but it won’t be an easy task, just like none of the Warden tasks have been so far! They will have to seek out an elusive type of being and only one of them can face the test they will demand of the chosen one. Macey is the obvious choice, with her number of elements and magical abilities now, but the tests will be far harder than she imagined. Some of them travel to London and find themselves deep underground, looking for a being that can bring the flame back to their fire Warden Flint.
Luc splits her from her men, after one is almost drowned, but this is for her to take part in the final test, not what they had already gone through which Jared struggled with the most. The trying test that these beings have given Macey is the worst she could ever undergo. It used the worst of her fears in a mental battle, as well as the worst element against her water based self, all to see if she was worthy of one of their flames to save Flint. That was not the end of it as she had to still get that flame back to him to save his life, before it went out! Only then could they get all their allies together to face the Mahoun at his dark castle. Her anger at what she was shown in her test, has stayed with her, confusing her as to what was real or not and leaves her making some decisions and comments that could be damaging to the seven of them being able to trust each other fully as needed. She splits the Wardens and allies off into different directions, to break into the castle and face off against the Mahoun, but he has a lot more tricks under his sleeves than they know! Not so much of a massive battle at the end, but a magical solution from the very person at fault for the darkness striking all over. There seems to be no rest for the Wardens and for Macey in particular. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
Definitely twists, turns, surprises and steam. Things are getting heated up that’s for sure. It’s also more fast paced epic fantasy with more mythological beings introduced into the story. Let’s go book 5!

Within the Flames is the fourth book in the Seven Warden’s series. It is a paranormal reverse harem. This book is not a standalone and shouldn’t be read before finishing books 1-3. If you haven’t read the first three books you are missing too much to completely enjoy the book. This review will have some spoilers if you haven’t read books 1-3.
Just like with the other books this one picks up where book three ended. Macey now has four men to love and protect her now that Ronan, a selkie has joined their group. He’s not a warden but the guys have accepted him into the fold and are happy to share Macey with him. The Wardens are trying to gain support from other realms to help fight Mahoun. Some support was gathered but not enough especial since Flint has lost his fire magic. If they’re to be successful in the quest Macey and the other wardens need to figure out how to restore Flint’s magic. This series has kept me engaged the whole time. I’m very much looking forward to reading book five.

I really liked this book because it had so many surprising twists and turns. I have been loving the ‘Seven Wardens’ series and I enjoyed this book as well. It was not one of my favorites so far, but I am totally engrossed in Macey’s story about her and her boys. There is always danger and mystery along more surprises for the reader. This fun and adventurous reverse harem read will pull you in and not let you go until you get through the whole thing. The writing is wonderful and a great fantasy story line to go with a great romance. Can’t wait until I get to the next story about all the characters and am anticipating more adventure in them.

The fourth book in the Seven Wardens series that is just getting more intense with each new story. The book is well written with a very good storyline this is mainly Flint’s story. I will be reading the next book. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Gathering allies is essential, but will it be enough?
This is book four of the series. It does okay as a standalone, but as we are at the midpoint of the series, I don’t recommend starting here.
This is a paranormal romance story with a reverse harem theme and a dose of Scottish folklore thrown in for good measure. The story is well written and easy to read as I would expect. The characters and setting are also well developed and quite intriguing, almost as much fun as the plot itself. I particularly liked the Scottish elements seeded throughout. Speaking of the plot, it is a good one including plenty of mystery, twists and turns to keep things interesting. All together, this made for a fantastic read and I look forward to reading the next book of the series.
Highly recommended.

This book starts right at the end of book three and again we follow Macey and her boys through the twists and turns they keep going through, especially Flint’s struggles. Flint has lost his fire magic and Macy knows he will need it to fight Mahoun and his brothers. She is eager to help him with the problem, while also struggling with insecurities and jealousy. Having so many friends can make life interesting, but it can also be an emotional rollercoaster. What further adventures await Macey and the other wardens? If you have enjoyed the Seven Wardens series as much as I have so far, you’ll probably enjoy the latest installment just as much.
