This was the best book I have read in a while! Loved the characters, the story, and the journey to getting their happily ever after! It made me want to read slow to make the book last longer but it kept me on the edge of my seat and I just couldn’t wait to find out what would happen! LOVE <3
Great love story
I liked the premise of this, but not the execution. Unrealistic situations and somewhat predictable.
There were elements of the survival scenario that struck me as implausible, but over all, I liked the two main characters, and their romance was well-developed. The ending was particularly poignant.
Loved the story and the characters.
It kept my attention. Pretty good story. Happy ending.
It’s a good book but if you love character banter it’s not for you. Its more about their thoughts and feelings. Still a good read
Omg. I loved this book. It shows how true love can find us at any time, and how they are truly each other’s life. This is the kind of love every woman dreams of. I would recommend this for everyone to read and have a box of Kleenex’s.
Really good book. Nerve racking and keeps you on the edge of your seat
I couldn’t stop reading. Page after page was exciting adnd very interesting.
The book dragged in the middle. Too many overlapping problems. The fact that no one came to find them because it was a closed area, even though a plane went down, seemed contrived.
I have read everything written by Layla Hagen and truly enjoyed each and every book. However, with Withering Hope Ms. Hagen has outdone herself. She has truly come into her own as a writer. This book is drastically different than the other books she has written. In fact, it is very different than any other book I have read, not only in the storyline but also the perfect epilogue. The story makes a wonderful full circle and had me in tears on a couple of different occasions. I’m not an emotional reader, so if a book can draw that reaction out of me, it is truly well written and the characters have touched my heart. The growth in writing that Ms. Hagen has shown in this book sets the bar high for everything she writes in the future.
Aimee is flying to her fiancé’s family ranch for their wedding. The author barely lets the reader get comfortable and introduce the characters when the plane with Tristan and Aimee crashes in the Amazon. The plot hits the reader hard and fast. It is how they overcome the problems they encounter in the Amazon that shows the reader what the characters are made of. They share their past struggles with each other. Tristan starts out as a very closed off man, with a secret crush on his boss’s intended bride. Aimee starts the story as an anxious bride then as a hopeful plane crash survivor. Not only do these characters face the dangers of the rainforest but also the dangers of sharing their hearts with each other. They suffer on several different levels, not only physically but emotionally. Their hope often turns to despair but together they find that most things in their path can be overcome as long as they tackle it together. They suffer guilt, longing, hunger, thirst and fear. But they also experience, hope, love and triumph.
This book takes the reader on quite a journey, not only deep into the heart of the Amazon but also into the human heart. On several occasions I found myself reaching for the tissues. Tristan makes it hard for the reader not to fall in love with him. Not only is he a sexy former military man but he has a soft vulnerable side that will melt your heart. While he struggles with his past, they find that Aimee is exactly the balm for his shattered soul. While the book is not jam packed with sex, the scenes are natural, sensual and deeply emotional. The ending of the book brings Aimee and Tristan’s story full circle, it is the way I think my personal story will end. This book will stay with me for a very long time. I can hardly wait to see what the author comes up with next.
Very nice love story
I luv this book. Great read.
It’s like Lost meets The Notebook… soooo good!!!
Really loved this book
I started this book thinking it would a light-hearted easy read to help me get to sleep. It ended up being the book that kept me up all night, so I could finish it. I really liked the character evolution and how they dealt with the daily struggles. I also enjoyed that this book completed the story with an epilogue and an appropriate ending. True love found, can never be lost again. I am looking forward to seeing what other books / characters this author has in store for me.
Not my kind of book
I was surprised how much I enjoyed this book! Well-written, creative, and likable characters. Several commented how much they liked the epilogues, but I wasn’t thrilled with those actually! Suspenseful, loving, interesting, believable. I could summarize it, but that’s already provided. I will tell you, the sex scenes are steamy but not graphic, kind of a refreshing change actually! Try it, you won’t be disappointed (and there were very few editing errors which greatly enhanced MY reading pleasure!).
I listened to this book on audio and liked the action of it. Sometimes audio books can be a little slow and you “tune out” but this had so much going on and the characters were quite likeable so I really enjoyed it! Nice to have a unique plot line for once to!
