The Arlington Slasher case is closed, the UNSUB no longer a threat—but Quinn can’t quiet the suspicion he harbors toward his partner and the young, attractive medical examiner. Not only does he loathe his uncertainty, he’s torn between doing his job and protecting his team.Burying himself in cases no longer works. He’s restless. On edge. And tired of fighting his compulsions. Quinn has always … always viewed the law in black and white. Only now his world is swirling with a murky gray that threatens to devour him.
When chief medical examiner Avery Johnson careens toward a dangerous path, she pulls the unwitting detective into a dark web of deception, triggered by a spree of recent killings.
Is this new player linked to the Bathory murders, or is it another copycat?
Time almost took Avery from him once before. As the clock ticks, Quinn will stop at nothing to protect her, refusing to let Avery become a victim again. Against his uncompromising logic, Quinn can’t deny his feelings. Avery forces him to acknowledge his darker desires, tempting his control—which weakens with every second he spends with the feisty ME as they hunt down the perpetrator threatening to tear them apart.
*Book 4 in the Broken Bonds series. Contains spoilers to With Visions of Red.

No one and I mean no one does dark like Trisha Wolfe!
Dark reads tend to make me feel dirty, depressed and often have me feeling like reaching for the nearest razor blade. Trisha’s dark makes me feel deliciously naughty and wildly wicked! I love it!
With Ties That Bind is a faced paced, wickedly sexy and deviously thrilling read from the twisted mind of an uber talented author. I mean, seriously, who else can come up this stuff?
After furiously devouring every word in this book and finally getting what I wanted and needed most – a glimpse into the mind of the killer himself, my favorite part of all The Broken Bonds books – I still have questions. Who is the Alpha,? Who is the leak in the department? Will Quin find out if his suspicions about Sadie are true? Is he willing to even go there? AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, when will Quin finally get his rocks off? Okay, so he got a little taste but not nearly enough to cure the worst case of blue balls I have ever read!
I can’t remember the last time I had so much fun reading such a dark twisted book. Oh wait, yes I can, it was With Visions of Red.
While it may be possible to understand this book without first reading With Visions of Red, I think any reader would be doing a huge disservice to themselves and the quality of the experience if you didn’t.
Note to the author: Now that you have climbed out of your writing cave and cleaned yourself up, I’m gonna need you to crawl right back in, neglect your personal hygiene and give me the next installment. Both Quin and I are waiting!
Gotta love Detective Quinn!
The danger to women in the city isn’t gone although the Arlington Slasher case is closed. A new series of killings has Detective Quinn working closely with Avery, which puts his control into test. The desire between them grows but their situation of being colleagues and her currently fragile state of mind after what was done to her make everything a lot more complicated.
Well, I’m here because of Quinn. =P I loved him in the With Visions of Red Series and couldn’t wait to see him lose some of his strictness, because he has that need to be in control at all times. And now the current events have his control slipping from him with a new murder on the streets and the woman of his desire in danger again.
I loved seeing Quinn a little bit unhinged because he was torn between protecting Avery and keeping his distance to her.
Just like the previous series, this book was also a short and quick read, and I’m sure the next two will be as well. The suspense made it seem even faster because you just want to know what will happen next and aren’t able to put the book down. Of course the ending has me at the edge of my seat and I’ll dive right into the second book.
Avery made it really hard for Quinn to resist her. And who can blame him?! She’s such a temptation. I can’t wait to see more of the safe and guarded Quinn losing control of his black and white life. I loved his protectiveness and need to see him unravel and shed his controlled demeanor to protect the woman he has feelings for.
I’m so glad these characters (Avery & Quinn) are continuing this series. I’m loving the suspense so far! Can’t wait to see what happens next!
This is a wonderful book. I couldn’t put it down until I was done. When I got to the end I was so upset to learn that it continues on to a 2nd book and than to a 3rd book. Please authors I wish you would put it all in one book or give us the option to buy the whole set at one time. This upsets me as now I have to wait to finish the book when I can afford to buy the other 2. Stop doing this please.
I’ve come to the realization that this author likes to torture her readers as much as she does her characters. This is a spinoff to the Broken Bonds serial which continues story lines and characters so its recommended you read those first.
This literally picks up where the previous trilogy ended but now the main characters are Detective Ethan Quinn and medical examiner Avery Johnson. Both Quinn and Avery went through hell in the previous books and Avery defiantly got the crappy end of the stick. She is trying to get over along with deal with things that happened to her and also deal with her conscience on some other things.
Its not long after she’s back to work that the bodies start piling up from a new killer on the horizon. Our poor Detective Quinn is not only having to deal with his feelings both personally for Avery but also some guilt over not being able to prevent what happened to her and now he’s thrown into another murder investigation that looks to have a new serial killer on the loose which looks like its going to put Avery in the cross hairs again.
As with the first series this is looking be another complex series that’s going to have long reaching ramifications for all involved before we get to the final book.
