A great ending to this wonderful series. You will fall in love with Jesse and Ava. This book is the only book in the series written in the male POV.
Omg what an awesome book . ! Jesse Ward hot and confident the Lord of the Manor boy did he do some things to this reader’s girly parts . Lol I loved how protective he is I love the stagger the presence that is just him . But I also loved the vulnerability that is Jesse as well . As much as his confidence and alpha tendencies is a turn on I could relate to his character more as the human side of him was revealed through out the book.
Ava however got on my last nerve at times and found her attitude towards Jesse at times repetitive , boring and sometimes rude I had a hard time relating to her character at first but found as I read on I started to like her as she brought out Jesse’s vulnerable side . I loved Tom he was hilarious and Victoria and Kate especially they brought the fun side out of the story and I had several laugh out loud moments with their interactions with Jesse’s friends at the nightclub scene. So funny. Highly recommend this series and can’t wait to get stuck into the next book.
Jodi Ellen Malpas, one of the best authors I have ever had the pleasure to read, brings the unforgettable “This Man” series back. The continuation of the story of Jesse and Ava Ward is as captivating as ever! The relationships they have with each other and their friends and family, along with their crazy imperfect life, undeniable attraction, unbreakable love for one another and their children, and passion and appreciation for life all pull you into their wonderful world. A must read that will leave you wishing for more!
I. Have read the Entire Series of This Man three times and is a keeper
I loved the series. I said tragic due to John’s character. A must read series
Read the entire series – Jesse Ward is a true force of nature. But this book, from his POV and a tragic event that happens to his orderly world is just perfect. You will not be able to put this book down. 10 Stars.
A perfect ending!!! Jesse and Ava have a special kind of love that can melt the coldest place but when a car accident takes Ava’s memories away, Jesse has to make Ava fall in love with him all over. It was a great ending to the series. Ava is so stressed and frustrated with not being able to figure out the last 12 years and when a surprise or two pop up it’s hard to see would they wouldn’t work out. Relearning how to love isn’t easy. Jesse hates to leave Ava on her own but he gets better with her need of independence.
A MUST read!
From smiles, to steam, to tears and tragedy this book did a great job of pulling you in and getting you invested in all of it!
3.5 stars… Jesse ‘The Lord’ award is an iconic character in the indie world. I’m always sceptical to read a follow on book long after a series has come to a natural end because any subsequent story always feels forced… written under demand from readers.
It was great to catch up with Jesse and Co and his trampling ways… but this felt a combination of satire and a trip down memory lane. The story wasn’t anything new as the majority of the content was flashbacks to the previous 3 books. I didn’t need this one to remind me of Jesse & Ava’s history. The plot twist had also been covered before so it felt a bit like same old same old dare I say a bit of a money maker?
Don’t get me wrong, I love JEM, love her writing and love Jesse. Perhaps I was just expecting too much and should just take the book for what it is a re-connection to the characters.
All the books in the This Man series are great, but this one is totally off the charts. This chapter of Jesse and Ava’s story brought sad and happy tears to my eyes many times. This one is a must-read. End of.
Jesse Ward….that is all I can say. Love him!
Outstanding book it’s a must read, If you read one book this year then this is that book.
For the first time ever I read this book so slow, I wanted to savour every single paged that I read, you will fall in love with Jesse Ward in 3 2 1 zero ladies, because this book told from his POV is outstanding , the journey Jesse & Ava take is heartbreaking beautiful & so rewarding, I fell in love with Jesse Ward all over again, he may be fictional by damn his powerful Jodi has once again made use all fall in love with this man, this book will take you on a sad and beautiful journey one that you really don’t want to miss or end , and best part you get to fall in love with Jesse & Ava all over again end of.
I resisted reading this, because I loved the original HEA in the series, but am I glad I did. Jesse and Ava rock.
Such a beautiful follow up to one of the best series I’ve ever read!! A terrible accident takes Ava’s memories of Jesse and their children. Her body and soul knows Jesse but her brain is struggling to find purchase. Jesse takes it upon himself to make Ava fall in love with him and their life all over again. Ghosts from the past keep popping up making things difficult and deadly but Jesse will stop at nothing to protect the ones he loves.
Just when you thought the story was over, you get so much more! Such a great reminder of Jesse and Ava’s story and a glimpse of what’s happened since we last saw them. Lots of feelings in this story, so much vulnerability from
Jesse, and so much love.
Jesse “The Lord” is back. Five years after the release of This Man Confessed, we have a new book where we can keep track of what happened to Jesse and Ava. With a leap of thirteen years, we see what happened to the Wards, how their lives are. And I can say that after so long, this is wonderful.
Jesse and Ava are still married and have retained all that passion that has always marked them. The twins, now teenagers, are part of the plot, the family interaction is an important part of the narrative. At age 50, Jesse still fret about the age difference between him and his wife, though he does not admit it. He remains explosive, controlling and above all, very passionate. All kinds of “lovemaking” still exist, as does the fact that Ava is his life. When she suffers an accident, Jesse’s well-calculated world comes down.
The book will make the reader cry. If you, like me, are a fan, watching what happens to them and being unable to do anything, after so many things that they have already gone through, is pure torture. I cried for Ava and I suffered with Jesse. Unable to do anything to help her, Jesse then decides to fight with the weapons he has: he’ll show Ava why she fell in love with him. He will guide her on a journey through ancient memories.
And at this point we see what bright Jodi Ellen is. She was able to merge important facts from the series in this new book, which added a beautiful tone to the plot. Being able to revisit and remember all these scenes was very special. And more special was to witness how much Jesse and Ava love is really epic. The two not only fell in love in the past, but in the present with everything that happened, they fall in love again. Ava loves this strange man and Jesse fortifies his love for her, proving that he loves her no matter the circumstance.
The classic scenes are a great bonus for the reader: the meeting at The Manor, the purchase of the infamous short dress, the drunkenness with the girlfriends, the calla lily, John’s rides, the peanut butter, my favorite – the jokes at Jesse’s age, among others. All this served to connect the original trilogy with this new book. The other characters also give their faces: Matt, Sarah, Kate, Sam, Drew, Raya, John. All are part of the story and gain their own highlight.
A threat from the past returns to disturb the couple already so fragile by all events. And in the midst of so much drama, so many memories of the past, the reading is blended between joys and sorrows. The final unfolding of the climax, I confess I did not like it. I did not like what happened to an important character. It was not necessary for Jesse to finally realize that he can not control everything, detach himself from the past, and finally walk with his own legs. That was the only fault within the work in my opinion.
Jodi Ellen once again managed to deliver to readers a beautiful book involving Jesse and Ava, proving that Jesse is really her main character, the most important of her career.
As a reader I loved another new book of my favorite characters. As a fan, I was ecstatic with the brilliance of the book, how all the original material was honored and how this new book completes a brilliant trilogy. But deep down, I wish I had kept the sweet illusion of the end of the third book.
I would give this 10 stars if possible. What a great book. I cannot believe I wanted this long to read it. I love the world of Jessie and Ava. Now I’m going to go back and reread the series. I thought this book was hysterical at parts. Jessie is unreal but his love, devotion and loyalty to Ava is unwavering. And Ava we saw a peak into who Ava was before Jessie and it was too funny. Also how Jessie is with his kids, especially Maddie. I was swooning and laughing at the sometime. I loved how the author stayed true to her characters. The alphaness and loving was off the charts!! Amazing read!!
It tells the story about Jesse and Ava after 16 year of marriage a lot happens to them.
Ava gets a accident in which she has lost their last 16 year .
Jesse trein to help her as well as possible. After the necessary problems fortunatley everthing is fine again.
This book was less tense than the first three volumes, but it compensates greatly with the wonderful Ward men, Jesse and his son, Jacob, and their loyal and discreet guardian, big John. It’s the first time when I fell in love with such a frustrating but attractive character, Jesse, after I pushed myself to finish the first three books, in order to be able to understand him and the balance he’d found in Ava and their life together as a family. I’d love to continue reading their family story, meaning Jacob’s beginning of adult life, his first love, and see Jesse as grandfather.
