An amateur witch. A dark past. A fierce deceit.
Paladin Agent Alice Skye didn’t think much of the contract forced upon her by Rexley Wild, Alpha of one of the largest packs in Europe.
He hired her for one job.
Find the missing wolf.
Unfortunately for Alice, she might already be too late.
She’s in way over her head, an inexperienced witch who has to use all her instincts to help the … witch who has to use all her instincts to help the secretive and detached Alpha find his missing pack mate. But it isn’t long before she realises something’s not quite right. It’s not simply a missing person, it was something a lot closer to home, something that reignites nightmares that make her question her own, horrific past.
Alice is in a race against time that forces her to face against vampires, daemons and anything that gets in the way, for she only has one thing to do, find the wolf before he turns up like the others.
Dead.
Unexpected twists, dark secrets and nail-biting action that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

„Witch’s Sorrow“ marks the start the “Alice Skye Series” by Taylor White, an urban fantasy series featuring Paladin Agent Alice Skye, a brand-new fresh take on classic Urban Fantasy elements and the vampire and shifter myths.
Alice Skye has been just hired to find a missing wolf by the Alpha of the largest Europa pack, Rexley Wild, a contract that takes eagerly, much to eagerly, discarding the consequences. Alice is still a self-taught inexperienced witch, making for her lack of formal training with a no-nonsense approach to matters, and thus, realizes the truth a little too late, because this is not a mere missing wolf case, but a much more complicated issue.
The story is fast-paced with a very strong beginning, full with twists and turns, set in a fresh urban fantasy world, populated with all kinds of paranormal characters, a witty strong protagonist, that keeps evolving through the story, actively adapting to the everchanging situation. It is not only a fresh brand-new take, with only a slightly downside… it eventually ends
Good premise, good characters, but it became a little convoluted and painful to keep track of the plot/s.
A little bit of romance, a good amount of action and excitement. A strong kick-a** heroine, abs a pretty neat plot. I definitely liked this initial tale of Paladin abs witch Alice Skye. Well done fun, and that’s precisely what I need these crazy days. Highly recommended.
Witch’s Sorrow – An Alice Skye Novel Book 1 by Taylor White.
This story was fast paced and nail biting! Magic, shifters, fighting, nightmares all abound between these covers!
Received this ARC and am leaving an honest review.
This has real promise with an interesting story and some character growth with great secondary characters as well.
Where i struggled was with the world building being force fed us rather than coming organically through the story. I’d be reading along and getting interested when wham it was like the story was paused as something was explained to us.
Secondly Alice was continually investigating without actually appearing to understand any of the information. Rather than purposely head towards something she seemed to just be floundering while stuff happened all around her.
I think with some good editing and the author maturing into her style this will improve but while I did like the overall premise i struggled to read and will not be looking for the sequel
OMG I could not put this down! Grabbed from the very start I was thrown into this world , this nail biting adventure full of secrets , action and twists and turns and found myself on the edge of my seat!
Alice Skye is the exciting brand new urban fantasy that I would definitely recommend!
I really liked this book. I thought the blurb was interesting and was not disappointed. It had it all… that which makes a great urban fantasy series… A hero that was a bit snarky but what can you expect from a young witch with a bad childhood trauma. I loved the magic, action, and mystery that was Alice’s life as she works to figure out what is going on and why her mysterious past seems to be connected. I liked how the story was written and thought the plot and pace was great as it kept me glued until the end as I had to read it in one sitting. I really liked how Alice kept trying to solve the case as she kept getting into scrapes that she always survived and kept going and going. Loved the twists that popped up too towards the end of the story. Just an amazing book 1 to a promising series that I hope just keeps getting better. And I loved that the plot drove the series with the various side characters adding to the story and not the potential boyfriend driving the story.
Witch’s Sorrow by Taylor Aston White is the first book featuring Alice Skye a Supernatural Intelligence Agent or Paladin. In this story it is Alice’s job to track, apprehend, and bring in Breeds who are under contract. Breeds being anyone of supernatural decent. There are lots of different paranormal creatures in this book. It is full of paranormal antics, mystery, suspense, and surprises. I loved the character Alice. She is so fun and full of snarky attitude. I loved this book because the story was unique and unusual. Witch’s Sorrow is full of supernaturally suspense and danger.

Crap on toast! When the life as you know crumbles around you, hard decisions have to be made. You just pull on your big girl boots and get to stomping. All the turmoil and distress running rampant feels as though you’ve been put through the wringer more often than not. All the trials and tribulations with so much stress, danger and suspense brings this baby a few levels up. Throw in all the perplexing situation with all the plot twists that keep your full attention on this page turning dynamo. A tightly spinning vortex of vexing circumstances and a slew of inadvertent surprises that add a little spice to the mix. One amazing wild ride that keeps you on the edge of your seat as everything falls into place with such perfection it leaves you craving more. The characters are authentic, believable and original with depth and traits adding just enough flaws to spice things up keeping you on a razors edge. The scenes are so graphic and detailed it paints a fantastic backdrop that really makes the storyline pop. Incredible job Taylor, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.

Agent Alice Skye is a Paladin meaning she could track down and detain anyone not intirely human or Breed. Most people hired her through the Supernatural Intelligence Agency. She was called to a meeting with Commissioner Greyson otherwise known as Dread. dread had taken over as her legal guardian many years before. The meeting included a Mr. Wilde who she arrested. She was surprise to find out he was the powerful Alpha of White Dawn and as she escorted him out of the building he seemed to be paying particular attention to her.
This is the first book in a paranormal series, Alice Skye novels. It was interesting and definitely action packed. There were a lot of characters introduced and each was unique and well defined. The narrative really helped with the storyline by describing what was happening as the story is complex. I like that Skye overcame her childhood trauma but realizes she still has a ways to go in defining who she is. This is a creative book and used many different paranormal species. There were twists and turns and surprises that kept the reader interested in the book. I am looking forward toreading the next book in the series.
