From USA Today bestselling author Dionne Lister comes an exciting new paranormal cosy mystery series. All it takes is one morning for Sydney Photographer Lily Bianchi’s life to go off the rails and over a cliff. A well-dressed English woman turns up at her door, swearing she’s a witch. If that’s not crazy enough, she explains Lily’s brother, James, has been kidnapped and the Paranormal … Paranormal Investigation Bureau needs Lily’s help finding him.
And the craziest part? The Englishwoman tells Lily she’s a witch too. Before she can say, “Where’s my coffee?” she’s on a plane bound for Westerham, England. Unfortunately, England’s not as welcoming as she hoped–she’s barely arrived before she gets set up, arrested and almost shot.
Things can only get better from here, right? Yeah, right…

I expected a light hearted story without much depths, but got something different. Magic, mystery, mayhem, murder, karma, and a touch of romance.
Witchnapped in Westerham #1 – My first read by this author and I enjoyed it immensely. Very well edited, even got Internet correct, with a well thought out storyline, interesting and amusing characters. The author does a great job with her descriptions, the characters’ dialog and the humor used through out the story.
The story does start out a little slow but picks up and the last half is well done. The story is complete, no cliffhangers, but there’s a hint of things to come. Thank you, Ms. Lister for editing your book properly. 4*
Follow the adventures of one Lily Bianchi who has a very unmemorable 24th birthday because she doesn’t hear from her older brother who always calls her on her birthday! The next day a woman shows up and tells her he has been witch napped and she is now a witch who is just coming into her powers because of her birthday yesterday.
She accompanies this woman to England to look for her brother and try to understand this business about her now being a witch! There is sooo much humor and adventures awaiting her in England!
I couldn’t put the book down and finished it in one sitting because it was that good to me and judging by all the reviews it has had I’m not alone!
I wholeheartedly recommend this book and series for readers no matter their age who love cozy mysteries with humor and excitement!
Join Dionne’s legions of fans worldwide who are addicted to this series! This book is all it takes to see why the series and the author are so popular with readers! It’s fast paced and the story is so interesting that you reach the end waaaay before you want to! But with so many books in the series you don’t have to wait forever to get your next “Lily fix”! Just pick up book two and go from there. I’ll be following my own advice so I’ll see you in Westerham and let’s all see what experiences befall our newest lovable heroine!!
This book was so wonderful that I ended up reading the entire series. The characters were original, witty, and such fun. The plot was compelling and I just couldn’t put it down. The world-building was so incredible that I was able to imagine myself places I have never been before. (Seriously, a must-read. So much fun, I bought it!)
Thank you so much to NetGalley, Dionne Lister, and Author Buzz for allowing me the chance to discover this wonderful story and share my honest thoughts and opinions with others.
This book is full of surprises, intrigue, and humor.
We meet Lily, a photographer and unbeknownst to her, a witch. She just turned twenty-four, and her witchy powers have come in, but she isn’t aware what’s happening until Angelica shows up on her doorstep to tell her about her brother’s disappearance. Angelica, who works with Lily’s brother, James, comes to get Lily’s assistance in finding him and help her develop and master her powers. The interactions between Lily and Angelica are not only humorous, due to Lily’s skepticism and sarcastic nature, but they also grow into a trusting relationship that becomes almost mother and daughter-like. This is something Lily seems to need considering her parents disappeared when she was young.
Lily is such a likable character. She’s loyal and persistent, but also funny and self-aware. As she struggles to come to terms with her brother’s disappearance and tries to find her potential witch ability, we see real growth in her. We also meet some of James’ friends and his wife, who not only offer Lily some insight into her brother’s life but also become a part of hers. Even though she has her doubts about who she can trust, she eventually learns that trusting herself is the most important part of finding James.
The story is entertaining. It’s a big mystery that provides twists and turns to keep the reader engaged. I also enjoyed the maturation Lily went through as the book progressed. I would’ve liked to see a little more backstory about Lily’s parents’ disappearance and what surrounded that, but I have a feeling that will be explored in future books. There is also a potential love story that I felt brewing between Lily and James’ best friend, William, but that isn’t fully divulged either.
Overall, if you are looking for a book to keep you guessing and laughing, then Witchnapped in Westerham will be a good choice for you.
*NOTE: There is one “f-bomb” in the book.
I don’t normally read witchy stories, but I love cozy mysteries so thought I’d give this book a try. It’s a well-written fun story and I’ll probably read the rest of the series as well. If you enjoy a good laugh with your mystery this one definitely delivers. I love the divine cover as well.
I was looking for something lighter than my current reading list and this book attracted me with the look of fun, mystery and the clincher, it was free.
This book opens with Lily photographing a wedding, one where the bride is definitely a bridezilla. Fortunately the bride’s father is well aware and gives Lily a most welcome and generous tip. It’s also her birthday and she hasn’t heard from her brother. He always calls on her birthday and she finds herself crying and watching really awful TV.
What really takes the cake is her coffee machine sparking and dying instead of brewing. This is followed by a very static filled call from her sister-in-law Millicent that cuts out and can’t be reconnected. If that wasn’t strange enough, a woman is at her door when she steps out to get her coffee. After rather snarky introductions the woman decides Lily needs coffee before she can have a conversation and lets her go on her way.
Angelica Constance DuPree is not one to be ignored so of course she doesn’t leave Lily alone for long, she has news to impart and it’s not pleasant. She also needs Lily to travel with her to England. This isn’t going to go over well.
Now all things considered this wasn’t so bad, well except for finding out she’s a witch. That was the reason her electronics had gone wonky. However, once they arrived in Westerham things take a turn for the worse. It seems part of Lily’s powers is connected to her photography skills. By taking pictures she can see events as they took place but she keeps ending up arrested and unable to get to the truth of her brother’s disappearance.
Assistance from the arresting officers and Angelica get to the bottom of things in this fun, suspenseful and adventurous read.
I will definitely be continuing this series.
I love this book series! Every book is great! Once you start the series you’ll want to read every one!
Delightful Paranormal Mystery!
Lily is a snarky 24 year old Australian who just found out she’s a witch from a family of witches. She travels to Westerham England to help find her missing brother and discovers he works for the Paranormal Investigation Bureau. A wonderful combination of suspense, magic, family drama, good versus evil, twists and turns set in a lovely English countryside. I loved the believable characters especially Lily with her penchant for getting into trouble, her coffee addiction and reactions regarding the paranormal world. A great start to the series and I look forward to reading more. Enjoy!
I received a copy as a gift and am happy to leave my honest review.
From Australia to England these characters hold your interest. The first in the series I am interested to see where it goes. The main character is a photographer and coffee addict that I found amusing and interesting. The family love and loyalty comes through on the page. I look forward to more in the series.
Light reading and highly entertaining.
Lily spent a challenging day on her birthday, photographing a wedding with a bossy bride and not hearing from her beloved brother. Since he raised her after the death of their parents, she had only a few close friends and James. Via long distance, she had met his now wife Millicent.
When it becomes clear that James has gone missing, a new world of magic and treachery comes to light for Lily.
Dangers and betrayals arise in surprising ways and places. Only thru trusting her newfound talents and her love for her family can Lily and James survive.
Intense action adventure.

This is a great paranormal cozy mystery with a romantic interest included. The characters are marvellous, full of distinct personalities complete with flaws and talents. The characters grow and develop as the story continues. The mystery is full of surprises, twists and unexpected turns, that keep you interested until the climax. The author does a great job of weaving together the various elements, mystery, paranormal and romance, with humour and great character interaction. It is creative and charming. I can not wait until I get a chance to read more about these characters.
