First Semester sparked something different inside me. Now it’s time to find out whether Semester Two will transform that spark into something good…or bad. I, Brianne Marie Harlow, never imagined I’d befriend the Notorious Four, let alone enjoy the holidays with them. And now that I’ve gotten to learn a little bit about each of them and how they see the world, I want to creep out of my innocent … creep out of my innocent shell and explore things that never crossed my mind.
Like dating, for example.
It’s a new year and a new semester, and I’m finally beginning to feel comfortable with my newfound levels of confidence. I’m learning new things at school, and the guys are teaching me life lessons, helping me become less naive — but without the judgment anyone else would have shown me.
However, not all is well outside of my little circle. The rumors and lies continue to grow, and it turns out they’re a lot more painful when they come from the person you once considered your best friend. Not all hope is lost, but with the shadow people making another appearance and putting someone dear to me at risk, I’ll have to toughen up and recruit the guys to track the culprit down.
My goals for this semester are simple enough: pass our physical exams, identify the people who are after my gift, and if I’m lucky, snag another kiss from one of the guys.
Or maybe even all four of them.

I thought book one was fantastic but somehow this little gem managed to top it! We pick up at the break before semester two. There is lots of relationship building and good times before they return to school. That is where things get intense as an effort to continue the bullying starts but it is handled superbly. The whole semester is one surprise after another leading to a thrilling conclusion that gives us something new as well as the ending that makes you want more. If you like YA/NA, witches, and magic you have to try it! I loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
The second book in this really amazing series and its even better. She’s trying to come to terms with her new life and all four guys being her boyfriends. I really enjoy this series so far. I love how innocent she still is and that all her boyfriends are there for her and not trying to change her. They are still doing everything they can to protect her from people who want her gifts and to figure out who they are. Seriously great and can not wait for the next one!
I love that this series gives the readers a story to keep up with through out it all. Some books tend to pause the actual story and add some unnecessary side stories that tend to be frustrating. This book/series does not sidetrack. The readers get the story with no distractions.
Bri has finally realized who is important and worthy to be around with. The guys have been nothing but supportive and doting on her throughout all the bullying and loss of her best friend. They all share more of their pasts and their gifts and the bond between them grows each day. But it seems each time things settle and start to look up, tragedy strikes…
I am not sure if I just get really absorbed in the story or if the book is simply not that long, but I find I was done with the book in a blink of an eye. Can’t wait to see how the next semester will be!
Pretty standard Academy book. Just like the first one. If you like Academy books, then you definitely can’t go wrong. I personally love them, and was super excited to find out my favorite author now has a new pen name, focusing entirely on academy books!
The main character, Brianne, is still reeling from the fact she has been “befriended” by the Notorious Four.
And in this author’s notorious slowburn style, she’s finally dating.
This book focuses a little more on the Academy classes than the first one did and a lot more on character development. Excited for the rest of the books!
More of the guys and our favorite witch. This book picks up a little after the first book leaves off. There is a little more romance and some action towards the end. I look forward to book 3!
What a great second installment in the Witchling Academy series. Brianne is back with the Notorious Four in this second semester and the challenges keep coming. I love the way Avery wrote such a sweet yet strong character. And what a cliffhanger! I can’t wait for book 3. I highly recommend not only this book but book one for anyone looking for a series revolving around school. It has humor, love, action, hot guys and of course magic.
Witchling Academy: Semester 2 is the second book in Avery Song’s Spell Traveler Chronicles series. Bri has made it through her first semester at Witchling Academy. She had losses and gains, but the gains are far more worth what she has lost. In my opinion, what she lost…while it held a lot of meaning to her…isn’t worth her heartache, but I totally understand. Sadly, the rumors continue and the source of them is the very person whom she once called friend and another who is simply jealous. But the school and the professors are not going to allow the bullying to continue without severe consequences and I’m pleased that they step in and make it known. Prepare also to see the continued growth of the relationships developing between Bri and the Notorious Four.
This book is absolutely fantastic and hard to put down. I love that the author goes deeper with this story and gives us more on the various characters. I appreciate that while this is basically a coming of age reverse harem romance novel, we get to see more than just the main characters be the focus. I like seeing Starlight in this book and that she is developing as well and I like that her situation is improving. There are so many interesting characters in this book, and I love getting their background histories, the different things that they have been through, and what has helped mold them into who they are now. I like the air of mystery that the author wraps the story in overall, but there are a couple places of where the author does a huge lead up to a situation so that you basically see it coming. Now, while I raised an eyebrow at the obviousness of this, I have to say that what waits on the other side…it’s totally worth it. Also, I could have literally hugged the author for the fact that…besides the Notorious Four…Bri is no longer alone. I almost whooped for joy I was so happy.
While I enjoyed this book I was disappointed in a couple things. I hate to say it but I honestly find it hard to believe that Bri has been so sheltered that she has no idea about so many worldly things. I can’t help but raise an eyebrow that the “puppy” never tried to expose her to anything or that she never read anything in a book since she loves to read so much. The author explains that Bri wasn’t popular, didn’t have a lot of friends, etc., but I still struggle a bit with how naïve she is to the point of where I don’t view her has 16/17. I view her so much younger.
All in all, I enjoyed this book and I can’t wait for the next book. Bri is growing and developing. She’s shedding some of her naivety and I’m loving the fact that she’s no longer alone. There are some intense moments so prepare to be grabbed and fascinated all the way to the end. These stories keep getting better and I’m so ready for Semester 3 where I honestly hope Elijah gets his well-deserved smack! LOL! If you’ve read the first book and enjoyed it as much as I did then I highly recommend you grab this book! Enjoy!
Another Good Witchling Read!! 3.5 Stars
Brianne feels confident & happy after an amazing Christmas & New Year period spent with her family & all of the Notorious Four boys She’s ready to start the second semester of the Witchling Academy feeling much more at peace with her choices & is really happy that Jax is more than happy that Connor wants to date her too, when she’s ready to take that step!!
Before the first lesson even starts she’s called to see Professor Phoenix. Her locker had been defaced & filled with death threats again She’s told the Academy aren’t prepared to stay out of it any longer & are taking steps to protect her & do all they can to put a stop to the bullying!! Right after that meeting a Student says some awful things to Connor about her in front of her & the entire class. Connor goes mad, verbally!! He puts everyone in their place & it’s the start of a turning point for most of the student body, they stop bullying her, finally!!
Brianne meets two new students. They’re identical twins & are extremely open minded & prefer to choose friends by how they’re treated by that person & not by what they’re told to think of them!! Mia & Miya become her first new friends since the boys Elijah, however, continues to spread vile lies about her and it hurts her more than she’d like to admit!!
The 4 guys & Brianne, all draw closer throughout the semester. They’re starting to learn more about each other’s pasts and their hopes & fears!
The ‘Shadow Men’ make a reappearance Lives are on the line now …..
I was a bit disappointed by the amount of errors in this book. It impeded the reading flow for me I also thought the content would be more ‘Academy/Magical learning’ based rather than dealing with Brianne’s emotions as much as it did. I still enjoyed the book, just not as much as ‘Semester One’!!

Book two in the Witchling series didn’t disappoint, this is becoming an all time favorite!
Semester Two is upon us, but first we have Christmas celebration at Jax’s House. Then the class begins and Bri is still facing the bullying and lies about her. But in mist of the people that didn’t take time to get to know her, she makes true friends, also we see a lot or growing in her relationship with the Notorious four.
We learn about the past of the guys and what Bri second gift is
This one is also more full of action then the first, and we see all of them using their magic more and learn about Kaito gift too. Also, did I mention that we get to know his sister? And she is part of Starlight new team?! They are super funny.
At the end when I tough the surprise is over, boom… we get more! So what are you waiting for? Come find out what happens in the second semester of Witchling Academy and join Bri, Jax, Kaito, Finnick and Teddy bear Connor in a new adventure! Watch out for cute familiars!
So good! Bri is gaining her confidence and finding herself, and her four amazing dorm mates are definitely helping that process along. I loved learning more about the guys and reading Bri grow as a character. This book had action packed moments, tearful ones as well as a few humorous ones. Things are starting to heat up relationship wise but this is definitely a slow/med burn series, which makes complete sense considering how old Brianne is and her naïveté, both of which make her such a wonderful and unique character for this genre. I look forward to Semester Three’s release is July.
