Having magic is a blessing from the gods, and they gave me an especially powerful gift when they made me a Spell Traveler. Now if only I could use it properly without randomly teleporting, falling, and inevitably crashing into important people! As the youngest member of the renowned Harlow family, I, Brianne Marie Harlow, have some big shoes to fill. With amazing parents on the magic council … parents on the magic council and a sister who works for Witchling Star Agency, I’m determined to prove that I can meet the expectations of our family name.
I hope.
Getting accepted into Witchling Academy isn’t the problem, given my gift. But surviving in a school filled with witches and warlocks? That is a whole other dilemma. My game plan? Focus on learning, do my homework, and speak to no one — except for my best friend, Elijah, who I secretly have a crush on.
What could go wrong? Turns out, everything.
On the first day of classes, I managed to piss off the leader of the Notorious Four, a group of hot boys with their eyes all on me. As if that weren’t bad enough, now I’m getting death threats and random men are chasing me after school, trying to steal my power.
Now I only have two goals. One, survive long enough to graduate and make my family proud.
With craziness and danger coming at me left and right, it’s up to me and Elijah — with the help of N4 — to find a way to make it out alive.
Goal number two? Manage not to fall in love with all five boys in the process.

What fantastic Debut for the amazing Avery Song!!! I swear I fell in love from the very first page when we meet Bri. The prologue peaks your interest making it easy to get hooked as the story starts because you just have to know how it ends up there. She is hanging with her BFF Elijiah as it starts so we get to see how close the two really are though secretly have crushes on each other. Each gets accepted into Witchling Academy which changes their friendship forever as we meet the Notorious Four. Explosive meeting followed by one roller coaster ride all the way to the ending that leaves you wanting book two like right now. Total must read. I loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
What could be better than going to a school to learn more about and how to control magical powers?….. Four hot guys that are assigned as your roommates and become great friends/protectors. I loved this book and the ending was just perfect. Hopefully the next in this series will be available soon.
This was a really great start to The Spell Traveler Chronicles! Brianne Harlow has some big shoes to fill in the magical world. After being accepted into Witchling Academy, all she wants to do is study, make passing grades, and stay to herself, keep out of everyone’s way. Of course, that’s all easier said than done because she manages to run into Jax, the leader of the Notorious Four, has guys chasing her around school, horrible rumors are being spread about her, and she’s receiving death threats from people who want her power. Bri is a little naive, but since she’s actually only sixteen, it makes since. She’s a complete bookworm, totally clueless when it comes to boys, and doesn’t have much experience or knowledge of the world she actually lives in and the danger it holds. The Notorious Four, Connor, Finnick, Jax, and Kaito, have a bad reputation at the school, have rare abilities, and end up taking Bri under the wing. I liked watching the relationships she had with each guy in the Notorious Four form and they were all very protective of her and stuck with her through everything that she went through. We learn most about Brianne and Jax within this book and I hope we learn more about the world and the rest of her harem in future installments. Elijah, her best friend, was honestly such a disappointment and let down throughout the story for all of the history that they had. I enjoyed that this book was more about different powers than different races like most academy book and I loved learning about each one.
Lucy did a really good job with this narration! She gave each character their own voice, but I feel like some of the male voices were a little hard to listen to. Her performance portrayed all of the emotions well, especially Brianne’s, and brought each character’s personality to life.

*I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This was a first book for me by Avery Song. It was well written but a bit slow paced. This is a YA book about a witch named Brianne she is attending academy 2 years before she should, has little control of her powers, and comes from a well known magic family with hopes to fill the shoes she follows. She is sweet and innocent (if not a bit naive and over protected) and trying to figure her way around her new peers.
This is a second audio performance by Lacy Laurel that i’ve had the chance to listen to and I enjoyed it very much, looking forward to other audios by her.

I completely and absolutely loved this book so much. Once I started I could not put down nor get enough. I really like Brianne and all the guys. The fact that she’s innocent about a lot of stuff just makes it that much more intriguing, addicting and so very relatable to me. I love how the Notorious Four are there for her and protect her even though they don’t know each other that well yet. I honestly can not wait to get to know them all more and how their relationships progress.
Fairly standard academy book. Which to me, is a good thing. I love them. And I’m especially excited to have one from my favorite author. This is her debut book under a new pen name.
The prologue throws you ahead of the story, so just be aware when you get into the book, you’re going full speed ahead and then all the sudden you’re shot right back to the beginning. Everything resolves itself, and it ends up being understandable, but it is a bit jarring.
The main character is likable, like so many of the female main characters from this author. You want to get to know her and all the boys she meets.
I originally listened to this in audiobook format and I have to say, the narrator is amazing. Aside from the slightly annoying twang in her voice whenever she pronounces the letter A, she sucks you right into the story with the different voices and characters. So I highly recommend the audiobook as well.
Amazing Story & Audible Listen Fascinating & Magical!
Witchling Academy: Semester One
Spell Traveler Chronicles, Book 1
By: Avery Song
Narrated by: Lacy Laurel
I loved everything about this book, it is well written and enjoyable from start to end. Avery Song created an imaginative world with equally imaginative characters who have magical abilities. The storylines are original and fascinating, they held my interest and had me wanting to know more about the characters and the world they lived in. Brianne, a 16 year old witchling, a witch in training, was accepted into the prestige “Witchling Academy” at her young age. Her best friend Elijah was accepted as well. Brianne planned on keeping to herself, hanging with her best friend and learn to control her powers. But not all goes as planned, besides a few magical mishaps she finds she is assigned to the same dorm as the “Notorious Four”, four of the most popular guys on campus. Remaining low key is not an option for her. I adore Brianne, her ability to adapt to any situation and her strength to stand up for herself. I also adore the four guys, each are their own person and each has their own strengths and powers. I liked how they connected with Brianne, maybe not all at first but there is definitely a start to a great friendship and possibly more in the future. I am not sure which of the N4 I like the best yet, Jax, Kaito, Connor or Finnick. I did love Finnick’s crush theory and am looking forward to see where it all leads. I am also looking forward to see what the 2nd semester brings, more magic, action, twists, suspense and possibly romance? In addition to the primary characters there are some great secondary characters including Starlight, Brianne’s sister, she is amazing and I hope to see more of her down the road. I highly recommend this great story, it is entertaining and takes you to the edge of your seat at times.
I listened to the Audible edition, Lacy Laurel is a wonderful narrator and voice performer. She brought these characters to life, gave each their own distinct voice and personality. She did a great job projecting the emotions of the character and the drama of the story in to her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you or another awesome listen

Ugh the book hangover! This book was so good I didn’t want it to end. Brianne is a witch just starting a special school to teach her more about magic and controlling her powers. She is sixteen where as most start the academy at eighteen. Her best friend is also attending. She runs into four popular guys and things start getting interesting. I couldn’t put this book down. I can’t wait for book 2.
Loved it!! Was a little worried about how young the heroine is but loved the guys and was shocked by the best friend. Really fell in love with the heroine’s personality and watching her grow and respect everyone. Very naive but cute. No steamy scenes. Must be a slow romance. Really looking forward to more of these characters!! Great story and Lacy Laurel plays the parts perfectly.

An Interesting Magical Academy Read!!
I enjoyed this book. It’s world build was slightly diff from many others, so that interested me from the start.
I like Brianne & her personality, she’s very clever & magically forward but her ability to read boys & ‘signals’ is non existent, bless her! She wants to fit in, finally, but her new dormmates make her stand out which brings jealousy & nastiness from most!! Her childhood bestfriend & crush, Elijah, should have her back, but it seems his own insecurities, jealousy & bitterness has banjaxed that!!
Her dormmates are known as the Notorious Four – Jax, Connor, Fennick & Kaito. They’re the Junior Year Council and kinda famous. Girls swoon over them & guys want to be them but no one seems to really get within their inner circle. Even Jax’s ex girlfriend wasn’t ‘one of them’!! There are many rumours about them, they’re players, spolied, bullies etc but that’s not who they are around Brianna. She gets to know the real people not the legends and they adore her for it.
This is an interesting, fun read. I look forward to book #2

Loved it!
What a fun story of magic and mayhem! I really enjoyed reading about Brianne and the Notorious Four. Such an easy read, it was quirky and positive and I love the belief and faith the group all have in each other! This is a winner! Looking forward to Semester Two!
Wow…I was so engrossed in the story that the end of the book came out of left field!
Really great story! It was pretty mellow and not much action happened, but it was great nonetheless.
I am definitely rooting for the Notorious 4 to win over Brianne. ‘Puppy’ has seriously disappointed me. He gets left out of the equation.
I did feel the the story did need a tad bit more, but I was still satisfied. Since the second year at the academy is going to be based on their magic, I am sure it will be more action packed than this one.
Am really looking forward to the next one!
The is the first book under a new pen name by a prolific RH writer, whose stories I have enjoyed, so I quickly picked this up. I like Brianne – she is a naive, sweet, and fierce. The guys are interesting, and I want to find out more about their stories – especially the mystery behind Jax’s behavior. This story is fun , but does end rather abruptly. I will be picking up book 2 to find out what happens next.
I really enjoyed this read, the characters are fantastic and the storyline is great. It really felt like it was ramping up to something dramatic happening later in the series. The writing is great, I could feel the emotion, I laughed out loud and got connected to the characters. The world building is amazing, and the details are great. I really look forward to reading semester two and getting more of the magic side of the academy.
Witchling Academy! Welcome, all! This book is fun, fast-paced and trust me when I say…it’s hard to put down. Once you start this book, clear your schedule, grab a snack, and get comfortable because this story is a real treat!
Meet Brianne, the younger sister of Starlight – amazing sister who really kicks butt, and daughter to two parents who are on the magic council. So as you can guess…her last name gains her quite a bit of attention. But that’s not all. She has a unique gift, too. She’s a spell traveler and boy does this exceptional gift get her in trouble. LOL! She can’t control it so of course…she ends up in odd places…at inconvenient times. Ready for more? Dive in!
I have to say that this author has written a fantastic story. You get so much and I love it! Brianne has a crush on her best friend, but she’s afraid to push the boundaries. Are there really any though? Missed signals really do suck. Let’s all agree to that. Her and her bestie Elijah get accepted to Witchling Academy, but what Bri doesn’t expect…is all the attention that she quickly acquires. Now! I am an avid fan of cute cats and hot guys and this book is full of both. So as you can imagine…I was in heaven and jealous. LOL! The pacing of this story is fantastic! There is never a dull moment! I love the interactions between the characters and how well it all flows.
Needless to say…I’m beyond eager for more of this series. If you are looking for an engaging reverse harem novel then this is the book to pick up. The author keeps this story YA and slow-burning because of Bri’s age, but you can tell that there is more to come and I’m ready for it! For that, I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars! I will be crawling the walls eagerly anticipating the next book and devouring it as soon as I get my claws on it.
Avery Song comes out of the gate with her debut novel with a bang! Witchling Academy is everything you want in a paranormal YA romance. Brianne is young, younger than most because she is so smart and talented. She meets the Notorious Four and the friendship and fireworks start almost immediately. What I loved about this start was that even though there is attraction and chemistry galore, everyone is super focused on learning. Their bonds form while studying and the level of connection achieved without intimacy was wonderful. It made me feel like a teenager again, when holding hands meant so much. I except great things to follow for Avery, as this story is well written and refreshingly complex. I’m sure even better things will follow, but this is certainly a tough act to follow. Witchling Academy was so good and incredibly hard to put down! I would recommend Witchling Academy to anyone with a love for YA Academy stories!
I love this new academy book. Brianne is spunky and sassy and lovable. The Notorious 4, man are they and interesting bunch. The story line and characters are intriguing and fresh. I can’t wait to find out where their story is going to go and I’m ready to see how their relationships are going to grow. Elijah, gosh he is something else and turns out to be such a jerk but there is always that one character you have to hate lol. Great read and I can’t wait for more!
This is an excellent book. Brianne is a sweet, highly intelligent character that starts school at the highly prestigious Witchling Academy. She faces learning to control her magic while making new friends while finding changes in old relationships. The story is great, the characters are witty. I highly recommend it.

Avery Song’s Witchling Academy is an absolute MUST READ!!!
I’m an avid reader of Fantasy and Academy books , and will tell you that this is not your typical Academy novel ..Avery did a great job creating an amazing and unique story and is really a great introduction into The Spell Traveller Chronicles
I absolutely adore our FMC Bri , she’s such a cute ,caring & likeable character while still being a tough cookie who doesn’t take $hit from anyone and the chemistry with the guys is so adorable and they’re just the sweetest and did I mention HOTI love how she really grows with her guys throughout the book and how each of them support and just compliment her in different ways
I truly Loved this entire book from beginning to end …. literally devoured it in one sitting and I NEED MORE!
Highly Recommended
Magic & Action Packed with a Slow Burn Romance
I Can’t Wait for the next Installment in the series !!!
No spoilers of any kind included except this and that is there is a wicked cliffhanger waiting at the end of the story.
But other than that I absolutely enjoyed this book and I can’t wait until the next book in this series is here.
Avery Song is an amazing story weaving genius, she knows when to make you laugh and she knows when to make you cry and growl.
Anyway it’s going to be yes I most definitely do recommend this book.
