I’m loving the Premonition Pointe series, and Witching for Joy continues that enjoyment with one woman’s discovery of who she really is when she is left behind by her now ex-husband… and did Joy ever shine in her story. We’ve heard of Joy’s marital troubles in the earlier books, often with hilarious suggestions from the other ladies in her coven. But the reality is far from humorous when the man she thought she’d be with for a lifetime simply walked away, engineered a divorce, and went on with his life alone. Joy showed strengths that any woman would envy. Yes, it sucked that her husband didn’t want her. Yes, it also sucked in the manner that he decided to end the marriage. Yet. Joy is discovering freedom she hadn’t allowed herself to feel. She’s taking a chance and going for the career she wants – and the troubles that also come with that new acting job. Joy’s life is about to take another turn and she’ll need all her friends and her coven behind her when the nasty, evil parts come to the forefront.
I adored Joy. That’s probably obvious. She’s going to be facing not only a new career but a vindictive younger actress’s actions to constantly put Joy down, get her in trouble, or ruin her life in general. But there’s more going on aside from an ego-filled brat, there is also a new friendship with another actress, one where Joy and her coven will be vital in saving Carly’s niece, Harlow from extreme danger. And… a new man in Joy’s life – although I had my doubts about Troy at the start he turned into a man who stands by his woman forever. I loved Joy’s children and the parts that they play in this story are full of humor, obvious family love, and wisdom beyond their years. There is definitely danger here. Yet watching Joy (and her friends, her love) deal with everything thrown at her was an exciting journey. The woman’s got strengths she doesn’t even know about yet – and powers as well.
I had such fun with Witching for Joy – and if you haven’t started this series yet, then you should definitely give it a try. Humor, romance, magic, a tight-knit community, and danger. What more could you ask for?
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Absolutely loved this book. Cannot wait for the next installment. It’s Joy time to shine. We get to see how Joy navigates the pitfalls of divorce, dating again and fame. She is free to discover herself and what she really wants out of life. Definitely a must read
Audiobook review- I really like this series. Yes, it has a paranormal aspect but the main storyline is about things women have to deal with midlife. Joy’s story finds her dealing with a single status, a new career, the challenges of being a parent to adult children, dealing with an ex and not so nice people, and finding love. I admire Joy and how she handles everything in stride and with poise. Well written! The narrator did a fantastic job bringing the story to life! I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I Loved all three of the books in this series I absolutely Loved Joy’s story and the fact that these woman are all over 40 and having interesting lives and romance not just a side character.I am just so happy to read these books.
Another story from Premonition Pointe. Joy’s husband decides marriage is not for him and the children are out of the house — but will they stay gone? Life changes for Joy. New Job, life or death visions and old love that could be new again. Less paranormal than I was looking for, but the story is well written and the characters are fun, snarky and strong.
Another enjoyable read that has relatable characters and a great storyline. One of my favorite authors that keeps you coming back for more. I am voluntarily reviewing an arc gifted by the author with no obligation
3rd in series.
This story really wasn’t that entertaining .
Joy was ok but she wasn’t really interesting.
It was a Ok story. Not to much witchy.
Voluntarily reviewed.
I finished it. It was OK, just not the type of family dynamics that I’m interested in. Other than that, the story was OK.
I just finished and I’m so excited for the next installment. The third installment, follows Joy and the coven of witches into a new adventure. This book was certainly a page turner and I truly enjoyed the mystery and paranormal that was woven into the story. Best of both worlds for me. I’m so happy for Joy and her beau. Looking forward to reading the next installment.
This is the third book in this series and they just keep getting better? This is Joy’s story about how her husband leaves and and she starts her life over again at the age of 48. She has a new career and a new sexy boyfriend and her friends, children and coven on her side. She has to get through some hard times mostly because of the horrible paparazzi and lies from a jealous costar. She also has a new power of vision that she has to get used to while at the same time trying to save a new friend’s niece. At the end, she is the winner and comes out on top.
Witching for Joy by Deanna Chase has Joy Lansing starting anew in her late forties. Her husband decided he did not wish to be married any longer, their children are grown and out of the house, and she has gotten her first acting job. Joy is unprepared for her nasty co-star who is determined to make life on the set difficult. Then Joy has a vision of a young woman being kidnapped. Joy has never had visions before, but this one turns out to be true. A co-star’s niece has been kidnapped and Joy is the only witness. Joy hopes her coven can help her navigate this new power and locate the missing teen. As the saying goes, when it rains, it pours. Joy’s quiet life is disrupted when a love interest returns to town and two of her children need a place to stay. What does the Goddess have in store for Joy next? Witching for Joy is the third novel in Premonition Pointe series. It can be read on its own, but I do not know why you would want to. We get to see Joy stretching her wings as she starts a new chapter of her life. She has her friends, family, and coven by her side. I thought the story was well-written with steady pacing. The characters are developed, and the magic is intriguing. Just to let you know, there are intimate references and foul language in this book. I enjoyed the mystery in this Witching for Joy. I love having a puzzle to solve. There were some interesting hijinks going on as well. I like how this paranormal story played out. This is my favorite book in the Premonition Pointe series. Witching for Joy is a spellbinding tale with pushy paparazzi, filming fuss, unpleasant pranks, progeny problems, a confusing kidnapping, and vibrant visions.
The long-anticipated story of Joy is finally here! She started having marital troubles in book 1 with some hilarious situations, so it was really satisfying to finally get her story. I had really been hoping for more humor, though, since Joy had some pretty funny situations in previous books. But the story was well done, mysterious, and thrilling. It was such a page turner that I stayed up late and finished it within hours. I just had to know what would happen to Joy and her friend’s niece, Harlow. Some parts were predictable, but there were plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing till the end. And it’s so gratifying when she finds her true love that she’s always deserved. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next and supposedly final book for Premonition Pointe.
What a joyful surprise!!!
I love this series and book 3 went above and beyond my expectations.
Witch for Joy was a fantastic story, a bit of mystery, a dab of action and adventure, a handful or more of drama, some sweet, sweet romance and threads to look forward to in the next book, I couldn’t ask for more.
Joy is an amazing mother, a wonderful witch, a best friend, the most patient person ever when dealing with ex’s and brats and a wonderful sweet woman to the right man and Troy is everything she could want in a man.
Witching for Joy is a magical joyride.
I am so enjoying this series! Finally in this , book 3 of the series, we get to see how Joy navigates the pitfalls of divorce, fame and relationships with sexy men when you are over 40. Deanna once again reminds us menopausal women that we may be older but we are not dead. As Joy discovers life after forty may not be easy but it can be fabulous if you are willing to fight for what you want. Great Job Deanna! I applaud you and all the other female authors who joined you in the Paranormal Women’s Fiction. It is so refreshing to read romance about women my own age and not my daughter’s age! And witch aspect just adds to the fun! I could really use a glamour spell myself right now.! Care to write one out for us in your next book!
I really liked Joy’s story. I think I connected with her the most out of the three. I was so mad with her for the way Prissy was. I clapped when Joy snapped. Joy’s kids are great. You can tell they are a close family. This book was easy to read and moved me right along. it has some great moments in it where I was on the edge of my seat. There was a love story. It was just as good. It went well with the story and I think her and Troy are great together. I hope everyone picks up this book and enjoys it as much as I did.
Joy & Troy
Divorced. After years of trying to make it work, she has a chance to pursue her dream. Acting. Too bad her co-actor is an obnoxious being no one can stand. Still, she’ll stick to it. She suddenly gets a new power and is the only witness to a crime. Only it is a vision. Will anyone believe her? Will she be able to help a new friend who is affected by the crime?
She’s lucky to have great friends with their own witchy abilities who are willing to help try to solve the crime. It won’t be easy and there is some danger involved, new friends, old friends who just might be more, and her gown kids who still need and care about her.
Another good book that stands alone but has characters we’ve grown to care about from previous stories. The characters are unforgettable and the witchcraft from good witches. The romance touching good to the last page.
I really enjoyed this story. There was a bit of drama for Joy on her work movie set, as well as some very unexpected twists and a kidnapping to solve. All turns out well for Joy including her love interest. Loose ends were wrapped up too – like why was Paul really so distant with her? I enjoyed this book the best so far. Best part – a lead into Gigi’s book is next! I can’t wait!
Joy Lansing is at a crossroads in her life. This is where it seems that all the hard work you put in throughout your life is finally finished and you’re ready to relax and reap the enjoyment you have worked for over the years. Her kids are all out in the world. And now she’s ready to enjoy life with hubby after 30 years of marriage – except that she is now single again and has to rebuild her life and start over!
Finally able to get a television role, Joy is hexed by her jealous co-star! Between the bad press and the hot celebrity determined to date her, Joy is floundering and will need help from her besties and her magic to save her new career. Can she handle this new magical talent, a budding new career, her altered family dynamic, and possibly a new love interest? And can she survive it all?
I love this author’s writing. No matter what she tackles, it’s always a pleasure to read and enjoy! Grab your copy and see what adventures her new life is bringing her now as she adjusts to her circumstances and rises up to meet the challenges life throws at her!
It’s Joy’s turn for a story! Joy has had some big life changes – her husband left, she met a new man and she’s started a new career as an actress.
Things seem to be going well, until she has a vision of a kidnapping, and the victim is her co-star’s niece.
Using her new skill, and with the help of her coven, she tries to locate the whereabouts of the missing woman.
This is my favourite book of the series (so far). I liked the storyline, especially Joy’s relationship with her children, and loved how it all came together in the end.
I look forward to reading the next one!
It’s no secret that Deanna Chase is one of my favorite authors, but with this book she truly out did herself!! I love all of her books and have a hard time putting them down, but I think this is my favorite so far. This is Joy’s story, but of course Grace, Hope, and newest coven member Gigi are right by her side.
Joy is in a new movie filming in Premonition Pointe, which isn’t going as well as she had hoped, isn’t sure where things are going with Troy, the photographer who we met in book three, two of her kids come home temporarily, she sees visions of a kidnapping, and the paparazzi decide to write stories about her and her family. What’s a witch to do with so much going on? Well for one thing, her coven and best friends will have her back. And for another, like any middle aged woman with a lot to deal with she’s going to straighten her crown and handle it all like the queen that she is.
I couldn’t recommend this book anymore than I do. It’s an incredible book. Like I said in the title of this review, Deanna Chase outdid herself with this book. Before I even finished it I came to Amazon to order Gigi’s book, because I’m so excited to come back to Premonition Pointe.
