Hope Anderson loves her life. She has a great business that’s thriving, the best friends a girl could ever have, and a coven she can count on. Oh, and she’s been single for over fifteen years and likes it that way… until the love of her life, Lucas King, walks back into town and throws everything she thought she knew about herself into chaos. If that wasn’t enough, now her mother is in town to … town to warn her about a curse that happens to all the Anderson women when they turn forty-six, and she isn’t talking about hot flashes or mood swings. But maybe the curse isn’t so bad, because now there’s someone distributing dangerous drugs in their quaint town and Hope’s going need that curse to bring down the drug dealers and save everything she loves about Premonition Pointe. The question is, will Lucas prove he deserves to be traveling that line with her, or will she walk away the same way she did fifteen years ago?

Love all of Chase’s books!
Witching for Hope by Deanna Chase has Hope Anderson celebrating her forty-sixth birthday. Hope just wishes that Lucas King had not returned to town. He has broken her heart twice but Hope still finds herself drawn to him. Her mother has arrived to stay with Hope which brings out her feelings of anger and resentment towards her because she took off after Hope turned eighteen. It turns out that Hope’s mother is there is to help her with the curse that affects all Anderson women when they turn forty-six. Hope is unprepared for this new development. However, she finds it is helpful when people begin experiencing terrible side-effects from a new drug circulating around town. Hope with help from Grace and Joy set out to find who is distributing this deadly drug. Witching for Hope is the 2nd book in the Premonition Pointe series. It can be read as a standalone, but I feel it is beneficial to have read Witching for Grace. This book contains Deanna Chase’s trademark writing. The story is easy to read with interesting witchy characters and humor sprinkled throughout. I had to laugh when Hope’s spell to appear ten years younger went awry. I can always count on Deanna Chase to provide laugh-out-loud moments. I liked following the mystery and trying to figure out who is the person behind the drug ring. There is romance as Lucas tries to woo Hope. I can understand why Hope is hesitant to trust Lucas again after he has broken her heart twice. The book does contain foul language and intimate situations. We get a sneak peek at what will happen in Witching for Joy. Joy deserves a happy ending after what she has been going through with her husband. Witching for Hope is a humorous tale with hair humiliation, a drug disaster, connubial cacophony, and a beguiling beau.
Witching for Hope is the second title in the Premonition Pointe series and will bring one couple back together after years apart and misunderstandings on both sides of their story. Neither is entirely innocent in their previous break-up, but also neither is completely to blame as Hope has blamed Lucas for leaving her behind for years now…. the fact is that she didn’t go with him either. So who’s really at fault? Neither, because then they didn’t have all the facts that went into decisions made when they were younger or had the courage back then to be completely open about what was happening in their lives outside of their love for each other.
Years have passed, Lucas is back in town supposedly to stay and Hope has choices to make, most importantly can she trust Lucas again with her heart or will her stubborn soul deny them the future they both deserve. Add some serious drug dealing scum into their drama in their small coastal town, and you have the makings of a delightful, entertaining, and relatable second chance romance for Hope and Lucas.
I adore Hope, even at her most stubborn, she’s a golden gem at heart. Her coven, her tribe always has her back and is growing as time moves on. Since I’ve now binge-read this series I can tell you that the series only gets better as time moves on, these ladies and their partners grow in their love for each other, and the dangerous bad guys continue to be vile and loathsome… but will get what they deserve in the end. I love that we get to see how everyone grows, how their coven is enhanced by new members, and absolutely adore some secondary characters like Skyler and Pete. Skyler provided me with many a chuckle throughout this series.
I loved Lucas. Yes, he’s fumbled and made his dumb mistakes over the years. Yet now, he’s back in a town he’ll never leave again hoping to win back the love of his life… but with or without Hope in his life he’s not running away anymore. There were moments when Lucas’ reactions seemed almost too good to be real yet underlying everything is his acknowledgment of his mistakes and his determination to show Hope that his love is real and he isn’t going anywhere without her again.
I don’t want to slide into the “spoiler zone”, so I’ll simply tell you that Witching for Hope is a fun, enchanting, emotional PWF that any reader who loves a good romance, a bit of magic, and some bad guys to overcome will certainly enjoy. If you haven’t started the series yet… why not? Go on, check it out for yourself.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
he coven is expanding as a nasty drug runner is trying to take over the town. But Hope the her witch sisters won’t let that happen especially now that Hope has received a new power. Ah, and then there’s Lucas…. what can I say a longer simmering love is best served hot. This book does not disappoint.
This was an GREAT book by Deanna Chase. I could not put it down. I really enjoyed Hope and Lucas story. The author kept me on my toes as to what was coming next. This book has something for everyone to enjoy. Can not wait to read the next book in the series.
Audiobook review- Hope & Lucas’s romance story is the one that got away scenario. Interesting characters and real life activities. The side story is equally entertaining as the romance. Really liked the storyline and couple. The narrator did a great job! I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I absolutely Love Hope and Luke . Such a great story and also the relationship between the women everyone needs friends like these. Readers beware you will not be able to put it down.
It’s the story of a strong woman and man who have known each other for “a while”. More mature now and having worked out some issues in their own worlds, can the two figure out how to pull it together and go for what they really want and need? Fun, romance and a bit of magic all thrown into one easy to read book.
This was a fantastic book, well written, characters were terrific and funny all at the same time. Hope’s two time ex came back into town and left no doubts he wanted her back but Hope couldn’t help but think maybe Lucas would run out on her again. There were some evil people in town dealing drugs and Lucas was set up as the fall guy. It didn’t help that some nasty rumors were going around about Hope and her business. In the end after some trying times, Hope and Lucas commit to their relationship again and reignite their love.
The second book in Deanna Chase’s contribution to Paranormal Women’s fiction collection, “Witching for Hope is just as delightful as her first! In this new novel, we meet the second member of the Premonition Pointe coven of witches, Hope. Hope is a successful event planner, independent, financially stable , with no problem finding men willing too meet her need for a little fun without the need for sticky commitments. But her 46th birthday comes with a lot of not so fun circumstances. Her ex, the one -who-got-away, is back in town. Her mother has moved back in with her, and she accidentally spells herself back to a hair style she had 10 years ago with disastrously funny results! But nothing prepares her for the sudden new paranormal skill she is blessed with. Once again Deanna Chase ” you think you have problems approach” to the difficulties all women have with encroaching age, transports you to a place where magic mixes with menopause in a very funny way. Again Premonition Pointe is the place I want to grow old in, surrounded by good friends, a sexy lover who treats me as if the sun and moon set in my presence and the town full of wacky loveable characters who make it fun to wake up every morning. Well Done Deanna! I can’t wait for book 3, “Witching for Joy”!
Hope discovers she has a special power, that the women in her family line inherit on her their forty-sixth birthday. A power that proves to be useful in tracking down the distributor of drugs in her hometown.
Hope and Lucas have a history, but despite years apart, are always pulled back to one another.
This was another great read in the series, with fun characters, romance and love, and a little mystery. I look forward to reading Joy’s story next!
A family curse, drugs in premonition Pointe what’s going on. The author keeps your interest with wonderful characters and a plot with bite. A great series can’t wait for more.I am volunteering reviewing an arc gifted by the author with no obligation
Hope’s story has a crazy, unforeseen twist from the very beginning that took me by surprise. A family curse which turns into a huge advantage to find out who is running a new drug through their quiet town endangering the townsfolk. Premonition Pointe is very similar to her Witches of Keating Hollow series; however Chase does a great job of differentiating the two though the concept is the same. There are many subtle differences that I really enjoy trying to find between them to compare the two series. I really can’t pick a favorite, though these characters are still new. I look forward to “meeting” new characters in each new book, while adding to the main characters from previous books. She’s marvelous at character cameo’s throughout the story and helps to build on to what’s coming for the future.
This book is full of mystery around the plague of drugs hurting the youth of the town and it keeps you guessing who’s the culprit and why until the very end. I love how the story is full of strong powerful women; though they still struggle with their own insecurities in their own ways. No one is perfect, but there’s such a sense of empowerment that it’s becoming one of my favorite series in the PWF genre. My only criticism (which is minor) is that this book doesn’t have the level of humor as the previous book in the series, and I hope to see more humor in the next books. I guess also that this book seemed to set up Joy’s story a lot and wish there was a little more focus on the romance. But I still really enjoyed this one in the series of hopefully many more to come!
Every time I go to type something about this book it comes out on the spoiler side and I refuse to do that. So here’s what I can say: the story is AMAZING, the characters are wonderful, the world calls to me, and the feels are all there. If you adore Ms. Chase’s writing, this is a must read and if you’re new to her work, this is a series you need in your life. I love Hope and her coven of friends and Lucas is a character I wanted to believe in…and by the end I did.
Second in series about Hope and Lucas who gets together again after Breakup 15 years earlier. They have a lot to work through also has Hope trying to solve a mystery .
Some drama,angst and romance.
Voluntarily reviewed
I loved the first book of the Premonition Pointe series, and as usual with Deanna Chase’s books, when I ended it I couldn’t wait for book 2. Witching For Hope did not disappoint. This is the perfect series for women my age, but it isn’t only for “women of a certain age”. Everyone would enjoy this book/series. I loved the friendship between Hope, Grace, and Joy, as much as I love the relationship between Hope and Lucas. It took 30 years for Lucas and Hope to finally get their happily ever after, but it finally happened. I couldn’t put this book down once I started reading it. So much so that I stayed up all night even though I had to get up for work. It was worth being tired all day!
Hope and Lucas
Life is good. Her business is thriving, she had great friends, not that she has a real love life. But she is happy or so she thinks. Then things start going the other way. That trend in her business goes the other direction. The love of her life is back but she’s ended with him twice–everything but her feelings for him. Thank goodness her friends are still a stable part of her life.
Lucas is determined to get Hope to remember how good they are together and to make a life with her. She won’t be easy to convince but he is willing to put in the work.
Love isn’t the only thing going on. Whoever is sabotaging her business could be the one hurting the community. Can they work together to save the town, her business, and their love and future?
Great characters, some witchery, and romance.
Lucas and Hope..sigh
The second installment in this series is about second love, heartbreak, family curse, solving a mystery, and laughter. It was such a good read I thoroughly enjoyed it. So much goes down in this book it was such a rush and anxiety for me wondering what would happen next! I absolutely love Lucas. Hope and Lucas are just perfect for each other. I can’t wait for the next book to come out. Looking forward to reading Joy’s story.
This series is GOOD! I’m excited to read Joy’s story now! Grace, Hope and Joy, such inspiring names that clearly define the characters behind them. This book is just as good as the first and will be just as good as the next one. The forties are looking glorious!
Good continuation in Premonition Pointe series. I was clamoring to find out what happened with Hope and Lucas at the end of Witching for Grace. I was not disappointed in this sequel story. This story has a bit of adventure as well as light romance. I enjoyed this story and am glad the author wrapped up loose questions nicely – like why did Lucas leave more than once? why didn’t Hope go with him? What was the deal with Hope’s mom?
And the dog wedding was a hoot 🙂
*Warning – teaser at the end of the story for Witching for Joy!*
