To win the Decadent Dessert’s competition, you have to crack a few eggs.Gran is gearing up to finally take down the reigning winner of Whitefall Cove’s annual Decadent Dessert’s competition, only the former victor turns up dead, and Gran is the number one suspect. Now all eyes are on us. How on earth do I keep two feuding covens from outright war, prove Gran’s innocence, and keep my new bookstore … keep my new bookstore afloat?
My budding friendship with Detective Jackson Ward is my only recourse, but first I need to get past the prickly defenses of his girlfriend, Police Officer Liliana Miles, and convince Jackson to let me in on the case.
Easier said than done when Gran is flirting up a storm with every male within a ten-mile radius and basking in the spotlight. The hot new lawyer hired to clear her name is not only mysterious but a distraction I don’t need, and the witches are misbehaving trying to prove who has more power and spark, which begs the question, can we catch the killer before the next spell is cast?
This paranormal murder mystery will have you completely spellbound and laughing out loud!

I loved Witch Way to Romance & Ruin. This is a fun and entertaining mystery. I love the quirky characters and their humorous interactions. The mystery has so many twists and turns that you are kept guessing to the very end. The book is well written and detailed. This is a really interesting and fun book to read. I highly recommend this book.
I really enjoyed this book. Gran is accused of murder but that doesn’t slow her down. Her new lawyer comes to town and catches Harper’s eye, but he is very mysterious.
The best part of the book was the two coven’s witchy antics. Those were hilarious!
I’m looking forward to the next book.
A necromancer, a fae and a bunch of cranky witches stumble into trouble … and Harper’s Gran gets arrested.
Who killed the dead witch? What happened to her tools? Does Jackson really have a girlfriend now, or is that all done?
Simple things can lead to murder when boundaries are pushed to their breaking point.
More action and adventure seem to be ahead – yeah!
Witch Way to Romance and Ruin
The town of Whitefall Cove is preparing for the upcoming activities for the newly created book club at Harper Jones’s Dusty Attic Bookstore as well as the Fundraiser Ball. Gran gets into a scuffle with Barbara Emerson, a witch from another coven and the three time winner of the Decadent Desserts contest at the Fundraiser Ball. Gran is determined to win the competition, putting an end to Barbara’s winning streak. A dead body is found and Gran is the prime suspect after a very public argument about the event. Can Harper and Jackson get Gran out of trouble and solve a murder in time?
Ms. Hinchey wrote another outstanding book with the perfect blend of magic and an imaginatively creative storyline. I enjoy the Whitefall Cove characters who are so much fun with witty and extremely snarky conversations. Another plus is the addition of a new love interest for Harper, along with the good looking detective, Jackson, Harper is intrigued by Blake, an attorney who is very interested in her is added to this romantic mix.
Ms. Hinchey produced a first rate book to a great paranormal mystery series that provides non-stop action that kept this reader’s interest throughout the mystery. She is a master paranormal storyteller who created several memorable characters, such as Gran and Harper, with a healthy dose of magical mystery for the paranormal crowd. I am a very happy reader when I read a well devised plot line with two of most funniest and quirkiest magical characters with a dash of sarcasm and humor that wrapped up in a great mystery story.
The language is a bit rough in the middle of the book, so you have been warned. I do not mind the profanity within the context of the story when it fits the mystery plot. The excessive usage of certain cuss words is not necessary and makes Blake look really bad to this reader.
You will laugh so much from this book, Gran is a shining witch star in alot of TROUBLE with the police. Trying to get Gran out of messes is a full time job for Harper! Overall, this is a good, light, and entertaining read for a lazy Sunday afternoon.
I was given an ARC for an honest opinion.
Once again Jane Hinchey has nailed it! What a lovely moving forward from book 1! Saying Gran is eccentric is stretching things by miles…lol. But arresting her for murder?!? What the heck?!? Time to get down to brass tacks and get this murder solved so everyone knows Gran is NOT a murderer! Great read and highly recommended!
The second book in this series and is even better. This time around its her grandma who is suspected and arrested for murder. Now they have to figure out who done this one and get her grandma out of it. Really enjoy this series so far.
This is the second book in this series, the Witch Way Paranormal Cozy Murder Series. In this one, Gran has a run with her friendly rival, who then ends up dead! Gran ends up being accused of her murder, so of course, the murder club must kick into action to clear her name! Harper caller her Mom and Dad for help and her Dad calls a lawyer named Blake to help. Sparks fly a bit too much with Blake and Harper as they try to get Gran off the hook. This is another great book in the series, and I highly recommend it and can’t wait for the next one!
I enjoy this series a lot due to the authors excellent story telling ability and the character development. I read book 3&4 first so I jumped in the middle of Harper’s adventures so I was pleased to see a box set with 1-3 together. This is book 2 in the individual books. Gran is great, a nice mixture of sage wisdom, fashion funk and zest for life. Harper and her friends solve murders, have fun and enjoy paranormal small town living. And who doesn’t enjoy having 2 hot men in their life, Harper, that’s who.
What is getting ready to happen in Winterfall Cove? What is the running competition that pits Gran against Bonnie? Why does Detective Jackson show up at Gran and Harper’s place? What has her calling her parents? Who is Blake Tennant? What is he? What does he do for a living? Things got interesting when Simon showed up! I laughe when Gran got him for what he did to Harper! You have to read to see what she did that had me laughing so hard my sides hurt. I felt relief when Harper’s friends rallied around her. Who was behind the murder and why shocked me! This was another book by this author that I could not put down!

If you loved Gran in book 1… wait until you catch her in book 2!! A super snazzy follow up has Harper chasing a Killer to clear her Gran’s name this time… but now adding in a smokin hot biker attorney. With even more laughs, wit, murder, lies and mayhem than book 1… A definite MUST Read!!
I just loved revisiting Harper and Gran. Except this time Gran is the number one suspect in a rival witch’s murder. There are a whole lot of laughs, drama, suspiciousness, magic and fawning over a new sexy bad boy, but at the end of the day can Harper find the real killer? I can’t wait to read more about Harper’s life, especially with that mini cliffhanger. I love each of the characters and how real the author makes them feel to me. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes paranormal cozy mysteries.
Witch Way to Romance & Ruin is the second book in the Witch Way Paranormal Cozy Mystery series.
Final Rating: 5 Stars
Another fun and entertaining book by Jane Hinchey. She once again brings a cast of colorful characters and fills the story with humor , twists , and a hot chemistry. I enjoyed the dialogue and bantering as well as the mystery and romance. I enjoyed reading and am looking forward to the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
A light, entertaining read with an interesting mystery to solve, likeable characters and some funny moments – Gran is a hoot and love her outfits!
This was a great story and the second book. Harper is a great character who has some interesting friends and even more outrageous Gran. Lots of witchy fun while she again looks into a murder. Jackson is still the detective and we got another great character in Blake who is also a magical being. Some action and snarky humor made this a fun mystery to read filled with witchy fun!

I just lover Harper and Gran especially with how much trouble they seem to get into! First it was Harper that looked like a murder but due to her along with gram and her friends help aka Murder Club they found the killer and now Gran appears to be the one needing a cake with a file in it to get out of Jail! There is plenty of hilarity, mystery, delicious food and a hot detective to contend with while Harper tries to clear Grans name. All I can say is I want more and I want it now!!
This is a fun and entertaining story. I love this new series from one of my favorite authors. I love the characters and the way the humor makes me LOL. I have to say that I am eagerly waiting for the next book. I do love a little craziness in my reading. I received an ARC from the author. I am leaving this Honest review because I choose to and I loved the book. Need a laugh, give it a go. Happy Reading!
Cozy and intriguing but not only because of the murder. With a detective that we do not know what his real intentions are, an attractive and enigmatic older man, a witch who does not know the full extent of her powers and an out of series Gran, this story was an interesting and very entertaining one. Liked the banter, the witty comments, chuckled with the Gran’s outfits, sighed whenever Blake appeared, enjoyed the girls sleuth skills and the plot development with the surprise end that left me eager for the next book. Liked this amusing story with a witch that each time gets more and better.
This author’s writing style is so easy to read that you have no sense of time as you go. The story is enjoyable, the characters fun and quirky, and the slow burn and easy going flirtation makes this book a must on your TBR list. Highly recommended.
I loved reading this wonderful story . I love reading about mysteries and this story is no different and I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading cozy mysteries like I do.
