An ancient war, a tenuous truce, a delicate balance.
Sounds ominous right?
It is.
The tri-pack collective has existed for centuries—three dire wolf packs bound to the most powerful coven in the world through a single witch born under the thirteenth sign of the zodiac.
Through this covenant they keep an ancient threat unlike any other at bay.
At the next blood moon, I’ll be that … covenant they keep an ancient threat unlike any other at bay.
At the next blood moon, I’ll be that witch—bound to the three alphas of the dire wolf packs. Responsible for keeping the peace.
That is If I make it to the blood moon alive, because someone is trying to kill me.
Now the hot-headed alphas are going to have to work together to make sure our inventive little murderer doesn’t succeed.
And me?
Well, I don’t take kindly to being targeted, so whoever’s gunning for me better watch out, because they just became the hunted.

Enjoyable start to a slow burn RH. As someone who read this book without reading the companion series first, I was very happy with the world building, and didn’t feel like I *needed* to read the other series to enjoy this one. (Though I’m definitely planning on reading it now because I really love this world!). The FMC is a delightfully snarky and strong character, though the depth of the side characters is really where this book shines. Pixie, half gargoyle, team of warrior witches, the cuddly but potentially scary little Fae teddy bear, team of Warrior Witches to the jaded parasitic Ghost, I couldn’t get enough of any of them. There was a lot going on here but it never felt overwhelming with a cohesive plot with a shocking twist. Looking forward to watching the harem try to worm their way into the FMC’s heart and to see how she gets out of the cliffhanger ending.
Debbie Cassidy is a new writer to me, and I must say I am impressed with her wit, character development and writing style. This being my first book, I don’t feel as if I was missing out on anything by not having read any of her other previous series. The storyline is fast-paced, filled with magic and mayhem, twists and turns, adventure, intrigue, subterfuge, shifters, fae, gargoyles, danger and some smoldering sexual undertones. The characters are well developed and engaging. I love Wren! I want a wren! Every book purchase should come with one. Lol. Ending is a serious cliffhanger. Can’t wait to read book 2 so I can see what happens next!
Excellent new series
Great world building and character development in this first book of the series. The FMC is likeable and full of snark. My favorite kind. The mates are interesting mix that should provide lots of chemistry later on. There was plenty of drama and intrigue combined with an action packed climax. This was very well written and highly enjoyable. Definitely looking forward to more
This is my first book by Debbie Cassidy and I have no idea why it has taken me so long!
I loved this book and cannot wait to move on to the next.
I know that Cora is a character from the Deadside Reapers series, but I didn’t feel like I was missing out on any back story, the history of the characters was explained really well.
Cora becomes the only witch born under the thirteenth sign after the other potentials are eliminated. The story takes us through reluctant Cora being told about her being able to save the humans and how it will all work by being bonded to three alpha wolves. The book has a really good pace, there are loads of things going on in the story but its really well explained and easy to understand.
She is a bad@ss but is not arrogant with it, she knows her limits and accepts help when needed, she is also funny, fearless, loyal and shows a caring side too, especially with Wren.
I have to say that I was rooting for Jasper, I lived his interactions with Cora.
There is a major twist at the end thats shocks the witches and wolves and can’t wait to carry on the story in the next book.
I knew that Cora was main character material that deserved to have her story told and boy did this book deliver. She faced crazy times with Fee but now she is standing on her own, facing new threats and making new “friends”. If book one is any indication then she is in for a crazy wild ride that will be a great joy to read. I must have more Wren in the up coming books! Every time he is in the story I keep picturing Gizmo from The Gremlins. So cute!!!
I have always loved Cora and her story (so far) is amazing! Cannot wait to find out what happens next. Definitely going have to exercise extreme caution if she’s to remain out of her mates beds. Oh the chemistry is off the charts and then there’s also Jasper .. our favorite malevolent spirit we love to hate (and hate to love but do anyways)!
This book hooks you right from the first word!! It picks up right in the middle of the action where the last book left off. I love the new places we get to explore and the intriguing characters. There were some serious feels in some scenes! So much action, amazing steam, and the TWISTS! Mindblowing!
Ok I love Debbie I devoured her Reaper series and had to check out this new series! The cover is dynamite I love it!! And the story!!!! Dannnngggg so well written I devoured it! I cannt wait to see what’s
I really enjoyed Cora in the last series and it is great that she has her own books…and what an epic book Debbie Cassidy has written again. This book is huge and we really get to know the MCs as the story goes on. Jasper I think is great and I hope he gets to stay with Cora…he makes the story intriguing for me. This book starts off this new series with a bang and really has you wanting to read more. It is full of drama, steam, suspense and twists and turns. I am excited to read more from the very talented Debbie Cassidy!
Can I squee? Would you mind? Forgive the fan-girling going on over here, but OH MY GOD! I loved EVERYTHING about this! Cora, who we first saw and fell in love with in the Deadside Reapers Series, is taking a turn as the FMC, and she is just as snarky and not quite perfect as she was in that complex and moving saga.
Here, the plot is a bit more condensed (so far?) centering around the Grimswood Coven and an ancient pact they set to save the world. Ok, record screech – let me back up a moment. This book is the first in a new series, and while you do NOT HAVE to read the first series in this universe, The Deadside Reapers, it DOES help. Without that background, you’ll miss the subtleties of Cora’s relationship with Fee, Jasper, the Reapers, not to mention the importance of the Amulet! Debbie does a fair job of inserting the info as this plot progresses, but she doesn’t bog down the narrative with flashbacks or info dumps – thank goodness.
Ok, that said, back to the review. Cora, Jasper, Elijah – familiar faces with intricate and woven roles, ones that set them on a collision course with yet another ‘end of the world’ climax… one that was hinted at and implicated in previous books. Cora, for her part, is fantastic. Breaking away from what she has always known, what she has always been, is difficult, especially for someone with her unique beginnings. This is her chance, and despite her reservations, Cora embraces the 180 degrees of separation in order to find herself, stumbling across new friends, potential lovers and a century long job offering along the way.
It’s intense, fun and surprisingly slow burn, considering what we’ve seen from Jasper in the past. Speaking of characters, WREN! Just Wren. I love Wren. You’ll love Wren. I want a Wren.

…… it’s Debbie Cassidy, there really is no way to tell. Right NOW I’d say FMMMM…. but, I see potential on the horizon for a couple more faces, including F/F.

I really liked Cora. She’s blunt, a fighter, and has a good heart. Wren is awesome. The guys are interesting. I kind of want Jasper in the group, and I can’t wait to see how they change/break the rules Cora has as an anchor. I will definitely be checking out the next book 🙂
Cora was Fee’s side kick in Deas Side Reapers, literally created from her essence and housing her Witch essence and power. She was an important part of Fee’s world but needed to find herself to grow as a person.
This book is set some time after the reapers series ended and has some amazing new characters and although Cora is the main focus i think Wren is the star of the show – i definately need a Wren in my life although i may not be able to afford the food bill.
Jasper is a delicious as ever but now has some scummy competition by way of Tor, Leife & Rune
Sloane is an interesting addition to the storey as is Bramble and Elijah. Elijah had a few appearance in the Reaper (Deadisde) books but i just have a feeling that there is more to him than meets the eye.
Cora is growing into her strength, learning about her magic and although a little vulnerable at the moment which i love, she still has a strong will and determination plus the burnig desire to make a difference in her own right.
Full of action, energy and some heat with all the twist and turns you would expect for Debbie this book is a brilliant follow on from the Deadside series which wont dissapoint fans of this world – I cant wait to see where this storey goes as its just sooo good!
Who doesn’t like a good Urban Fantasy Romance filled with witches, shifters, warlocks, Gargoyles, Ghosts and Vampires? Well I love them and I am eager to follow Cora on her journey finally in her own series!! It’s fast paced , has a highly addictive storyline, fantastic characters , twists and turns, surprises, betrayal, friendship, a whole mixture of emotions and a few laughs along the way! The author has a way with words that just draws you in and you find yourself in this incredible world that you don’t ever want to leave! I cannot wait to see what happens next!
loved Cora in the Reapers series, and am stoked to see her story continued!!
Absolutely loved that Cora hot her own book. Debbie cassidy has a way with words and the s book was just phenomenal. I loved everything about this book. The Characters, the plot and the whole thing was so exciting and riveting to read. I was drawn in right from the start and just didn’t want to stop. What a fantastic series to immerse yourself into. Loved every about it!
I have been wanting this book since I first read about Cora. Which if you are a die hard fan of Debbies like I am, you know exactly who I am talking about. She was Fee’s side kick and if you read that series you know that Fee made Cora from herself. This series was the Deadside Reapers series. She is Fee’s best friend and helped her so much, now she gets her own series. She gets her own sidekicks and her own men.
As always Debbie has written a world that just sucks you in and does not let go. The writing style is fast paced, the characters are engaging and the plot is addicting.
So in Witch Unexpected Cora is coming into her own. Yes she has Jasper, and for some strange reason I just love his a@@hole self. The wolves are my favorite as of right now.
Overall this was a great first glimpse into Cora’s story and I promise you will not be disappointed.
It makes me so happy that Cora gets her own series. She is such a snarky, bad-a$$. I love her character! The first book was amazing! It was action packed, steamy and there’s even a mystery to solve. Cora is still in conflict with Jasper and now she has three dire wolves to contend with. It will be very interesting to see how little time it takes her to leave the friend zone with the wolves. The end was a stupendous cliffhanger and I can’t wait for the next book. I need it now!
I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.
A roller coaster ride of emotions
Cora, a tulpa witch, has fought to find her place in the world of supernatural beings now that her best friend and creator, Fee, has finally found her happy ending. As the story progresses tragedy strikes, choices are taken away, and forcing out the culprit is not as easy as it sounds. Debbi Cassidy’s Witch Unexpected takes the reader on a roller coaster ride of emotions. I enjoyed getting to know Cora better and seeing her find her footing a little steadier as the story unfolded. I can’t wait to see what is in store for her in Witch Undecided.
I read this book with my Kindle Unlimited subscription and I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
Wow that was a heck of a story. I was so excited that Cora got her own series. Like jumping up for joy kind of excitement. This book so didn’t disappoint me at all. Wow. Love the characters Jasper is still a favorite of mine. Entire storyline was phenomenal!!! Oh but that ending….. come on!!! Darn cliffhanger!!!! Seriously if you haven’t read any of Debbie Cassidy books you need to start ASAP. Definitely read this one!!! Can’t wait to read the next one!!!
I was so excited to learn Cora was getting her own story. I fell in love with her in the Deadside Reapers series, and couldn’t be happier with this new book.
There are new characters and mysteries to solve. The addition of Wren was particularly unexpected but awesome!
I adore everything about this world and can’t wait to see what else is in store for our sassy witch.
