Welcome to Holiday Hills, where there is magic & mystery in the air…
I wear many hats:
I’m a friend.A sort-of girlfriend.A ghostwriter, and… herself—takes a new job with the Magical Bureau of Investigators, she stumbles upon a threat so big, it could destroy everything she holds dear.
Fiction, right?
Nope.
For reasons beyond my witchy sixth sense, everything I write is now happening to me in real life!
Did I mention my character gets into REALLY bad situations? Now I’ve got to figure out who’s cast this awkward spell and find a way to reverse it.
And if I don’t do it soon, I might just wind up the “dead” in my deadline.
If you like paranormal cozies, you’ll love this series!

This promises to be a fantastic series with a variety of paranormals as well as human. The writing is spot on, the characters well drawn, the setting lots of fun. I highly recommend this book, this series and this author.
This relatively new series is a winner! Carolyn Ridder Aspenson has done it again. She gives us a solid storyline, fun characters, and enough magic to keep us happy – all with a bit of romance thrown in. The surprise betrayals gave a twist to the ending, which was satisfying. You kind of thought you knew who the bad guy was, but the fact that he wasn’t working alone, along with the identity of the second person, was a real surprise. I’m trying not to put in spoilers, so you have to read the book to understand what I’m clumsily saying. This series rocks! I received this book as an ARC, but I’d be singing the praises of this series, regardless.
This is an enjoyable, fun story. A witch who writes but is not writing this book. Someone or something else is doing it & what is written is what is happening. Lots of mystery, twists, turns that make a fun read. Recommend. I received an ARC. This is my voluntary review.
Let me start by saying I read this without reading the first book and found that I wish I had read it first, I feel like I might have missed a little backstory, however, once I got into the book, and once I learned the characters, it moved along nicely and I never looked back. Never a spoiler in my reviews, this super fun cozy tells the tale of a witch, Abby, coming to her own with her powers with the support of her close friend who runs the local book/coffee shop. As she struggles with her powers and they get more powerful and useful, she is at the same time ghostwriting a book, a cozy mystery about a witch, and interestingly enough, the book she’s currently writing seems to be mirroring her life. Nicely written and keeps your interest, with some twists and turns that you don’t see coming, super charming and hunky characters and familiars that will make you just plain laugh out loud. Holiday Hills, the town in which this all takes place is one of those places that you can picture yourself visiting, having a fun time, and since regular people live there too, if you love a cozy mystery you will fit right in! I received an ARC of this book, and this is my honest, unsolicited review.
Another fun book in this series. I do love how the whole town is supernatural, well okay not the whole town but you get the idea. I do like how we get to see Abby writing her book while reading about her. It’s fun to read. Abby finds herself in another bad situation both personally and professionally. She is trying to keep things from hel best friend for safety reasons. She is trying to move her relationship with Gabe further along and now her book she is writing is writing itself. At the same time everything in the book she is writing starts happening but why. Abby doesn’t know who to trust but in the end she figures it out. I look forward to seeing what happens next.

Witch this Way is the second in The Holiday Hills Witch series. In this story, Abby who is a ghostwriter for a book company and is still learning her witch powers find out that her newest book is writing itself. Scary when everything in her book comes true in real life and Abby can’t do anything to stop it.
Then she comes to find out that everyone she knew isn’t what they appear to be. This witch stuff is hard enough! What could happen next?
This new story in the series was action-packed, with wonderful characters, and funny too! Copper the familiar is the best with his sarcastic remarks throughout the story.
Abby O’Dell is a successful ghost writer and new witch. She lives in a small mystical town in north Georgia. As Abby is newly coming into her powers, she finds things in her life changing. This month’s book seems to be writing itself. Normally this would be a dream. Unfortunately, it matches what has and is happening in Abby’s life. Abby needs to resolve this mystery in her life so she can get back to her new normal.
This is the second in a new series and I look forward to more.
Abby was a witch in Holiday Hills came from a family of powerful witches and warlocks. When her mom passed away, her mom placed a binding spell on her. Now, as a relatively new witch, she was learning how to control her powers. Her mother’s best friend Bessie, the woman she considers family, is also a witch. She owns The Enchanted, an adorable book and coffee shop in the heart of Holiday Hills. Abby’s latest paranormal cozy mystery novel, There’s a Whole Lotta Witching Going On, was shaping up nicely so far. As she is progressing writing the book, it takes a life of its own and trouble begins to brew. There were plenty of twists and turns to keep me on my toes and I was truly surprised a couple different times. Wonderful characters that made this a joy to read.
I received a free copy of this book.
I enjoyed this cozy. It was a fun read.
This is an excellent book with twists and turns til the end. Abby solves the case and gross stronger in her witch powers. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys witches and mysteries.
I received a free copy of this book.
The action never stops in Witch This Way. Abby continues to “grow into” her powers. In fact she makes great strides during the course of this book. I never solved this one correctly (which is a great plus). The advice Abby gets to “trust no one” is spot on. You will be hard pressed to sort out the magicals from the humans or the good guys from the bad. Not everything is what it seems. The book has a lot of character development and more than one plot twist. I loved it and could not put it down!
I freaking loved this cozy mystery! Abby is a new witch having come into her powers after the death of her mom. She can communicate with her cat familiar, Cooper. She lives in a magical town, which non-magicals are not aware of. Her mother’s best friend Bessie is helping her with learning about her powers. Her best friend Stella is not a witch and not allowed to know about the change Abby is going through.
I love that books are a big part of this story. Bessie owns a book and coffee shop. Stella is an editor and Abby is a ghostwriter. In this book, Abby is writing a story about a witch. When bad things start happening in town Abby realizes there is a connection to her story…and to her. It looks like someone wants her power and they are willing to kill for it.
Aside from books being a big part of the story, I really enjoy the characters. This isn’t the first book I have read by Ms. Aspenson. I have read a few. She really has a magic touch with creating interesting, lovable, real characters. Her characters aren’t the kind you read about and think, I wish I knew her/him. Her characters are so real you think of people you know who are like them. I love her ability to do that.
I know you want to know about the mystery and how well she wrote that. Extremely well. Even when I thought I had figured it out, I didn’t. In the end I was surprised by more than just who did it. I’m now eager for the next book in this magical series.
Now read the book and let Ms Aspenson enchant you.
Did anyone else read this title in Steven Tyler’s, (Aerosmith), voice? Haha.
*I received an uncorrected electronic copy of this book for review consideration. I voluntarily reviewed this book. My review is based on my thoughts and feelings while reading and afterwards.*
Witch This Way by Carolyn Ridder Aspenson brings readers back to Holiday Hills as Abby is struggling with a current novel she is writing for her “diva author”. Abby is also struggling with her new magical abilities, too.
The story is engaging and Abby’s character grows by leaps and bounds in this book. The plot moves quickly as magical forces take over her “work in progress” for the author and the fiction becomes reality in Holiday Hills. Join Abby, Bess, Stella and Gabe for a magical ride filled with complex motives, twists and turns, a few suspenseful moments that make you grip your ereader and just a touch of romance. A lovely afternoon read on a hot summer afternoon.
The author provided me with a copy of this book to review. This did not influence my thoughts and opinions in any way. All opinions expressed are my own.
This is the second book in the Holiday Hills Witch series and I couldn’t put it down. After Abby’s mother passed away, a protection spell that she cast died with her. This is when Abby discovers that she is a witch and needs to learn how to navigate her new way of life. This story is full of interesting and mysterious characters, twists and turns, and animals that are not your ordinary pets. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!
I’m really enjoying this series! Abby grew up in a magical town (unbeknownst to her) and only recently came into her powers. It’s fun seeing how she uses her powers, and also how strong her magic is.
In this story, we have some mysterious characters, buildings set on fire, and Abby’s day job as an author gets difficult, when the character she’s writing about seems to predict exactly what is happening in her town!
This was a fun read, and with some big things happening in it, I am really looking forward to the next one!
This is a very nice, fairly new series loaded with excitement, mystery, and an edge-of-your-seat page turning story that had my attention from beginning to end! The 2nd book of the Holiday Hills Witch Cozy Mystery Series, this author always delivers top quality books and this is no exception. The main character, Abby Odell, just found out she was a witch not too long ago when her mother died. She is a ghostwriter for a best selling paranormal series, and in this book not only does everything she writes starts happening for real, the book actually starts writing itself before her very eyes, and horrible things start happening as an arsonist keeps striking in her town. Abby tries to figure it all out with the help of her adorable cat, but since the likely culprit is a magical, she can’t even tell her best friend what is going on. Plus, having been told by a local expert in all things supernatural that the person causing all the trouble is really after her and that she is in danger and cannot trust any man, she is all on her own to try to figure out who is after her and make him stop. Abby is just learning how to control her newly-acquired magical powers, and the regular characters in the series are developing nicely. Anxiously waiting for the next one…
We’re back in Holiday Hills and things are getting weird as life begins to imitate the book that Abby is currently writing. Then the book takes on a life of it’s own, something weird is happening in this witchy world and it isn’t a good weird! Excellent character development leads to realistic characters albeit magical ones entwined with a well developed plot that leaves you guessing at who the actual villain really is. You’ll be turning pages and ignoring the world in no time so definitely put this book on your TBR list for a break from reality, even better pick up the first book then this one if you haven’t read the first. It isn’t absolutely necessary to read the entire series, but you would be missing out on some quality entertainment and backstory if you don’t! You’ll enjoy the mystery wrapped in humor to delight your day away!
Abby is a very smart, sharp, clever witch and her powers are developing in ways she never imagined. Like the previous book, there are lots of twists and surprises that will keep you hooked. Wonderful characters, good mystery, and amazing animal sidekicks. I really enjoy this series. Definitely looking forward to the next book.
I really enjoyed Witch This Way. This book is interesting and fun. I love the characters. Abby has really grown in her magical abilities. The mystery is interesting. There are many twists and turns to keep you guessing until the end. This is a great paranormal cozy mystery.
