more
Amelia and James have been friends for years and have felt more than friendship for each other, but the timing never seemed to work out for them. They have a wonderful connection, but there’s a lot of hurt between them. I usually don’t like flashbacks but the author did a good job of showing the journey and the pain the characters went through to get to the point they are at now. I loved that James knows what he wants and is willing to show Amelia that. Love the witch factor with Amelia’s family; the bond between the sisters is fun. This story is more of a slow burn type romance; there needs to be a rebuilding of trust. A lovely romance. Excited to read about the other sisters finding their loves. I’m really enjoy this series!
Amelia and James
Good story just not a great one. It felt like to James that Amelia was his closest best friend but not really the love of his life.
You wake , naked in the middle of a forest, your adventure begins. — go. It read like the opening to a D&D board game ran by highschoolers.
SLOW beginning, the beginning of the book is clumsy and heavy handed . About Chapeter 8 the book gets better and ends well but overall not that great a read.
Amelia Knight is the oldest of the witch sisters on the Island. Amelia has been waiting on the man she loves to realize that she is more important to him than anyone or place but every time he went of to college and came home and then left and went off to New York never to return but now James Foster is back in town and comes over and thinks he can just pick up where he left off 6 years ago but she isn’t having any of it and she doesn’t seem to believe a word he says and tells him she is done with him one night and to leave her alone, but James is on a mission to get the woman he always loved that they belong together and he wants to stay on the Island with her. Amelia knows he is saying it but believing it because she knows that he probably came home for his brother’s wedding and will be gone soon enough. But his family is helping him get in her good graces and it is so entertaining what James is willing to do to get back with Amelia. Great storyline and characters are entertaining as always. I was given an ARC from the author as a gift without obligations. I am providing an honest review.
Wow James really screwed the pooch when it comes to Amelia , he kept toying with her and now that he wants forever she doesn’t want to risk her heart again , he definitely had his work cut out for him
James had one dream and that was to because a successful lawyer in a big city. So he headed to New York to make it happen. Then he left he left behind Amelia Knight (one of the Knight witch sisters) now he made it big he has everything he wanted or does he? His brother Liam is getting married. That he doesn’t have in his life.
Amelia Knight has always loved james but he never seemed to return like she felt it. More like the friend zone, bad timing, heart crushed and leaving her behind. Now she has a business as a wedding planner. He is back in town saying he plans to stay but she isn’t falling for that one. What is she going to do now?
OMG this whole town is in on everyone time and knows things before you do lol! So much fun when can I move in? I loved the characters they are fantastic, they pull you in quickly, the storyline keeps you interested. I just couldn’t put it down and didn’t want it to end.don’t miss it.
Voluntarily review a copy and I honestly loved it
Amelia knew even with her youthful machinations that James was her one. James craved more than Night Meadow could offer, leaving it and Amelia behind for the lure of city life. He achieved career success but he realized that he wasn’t truly fulfilled. James has concluded that Amelia is his one. Amelia is wary, having had her heart broken more than once. After all Amelia has her pride, even if her heart still recognizes her love for James. Now James just has to convince Amelia that this time he is playing for keeps. An easy reading sweet story of friends to lovers romance.
A sweet second chance love story. Well, not really second chance, more like friends to more than friends. James left Night Meadow Island for the life of a big shot lawyer in New York. The problem is he left his best friend behind. Actually he left her behind several times and now Amelia guards her heart against him. Amelia has loved James for years and has dreamed of their wedding and a life together. That doesn’t happen, a huge fight does. Fast forward several years….. James realizes what he is missing. Now he just needs to get Amelia to open up to him again. I enjoyed this book, it did take me a bit to really get into it but is was good and I kept waiting to see what James would come up with next. What would he do to get the love of his life to open her heart to him again.
There is an HEA, so she opened up, but the journey there is sweet and heartfelt.
Spells, witches and romance don’t always work; it’s a thrill to read! Amelia Knight is the sister involved this go round. She’s the “responsible,” sister, deciding love and marriage aren’t for her. A charming and stubborn “friend,” means to change her mind! Sweet romance! 3 1/2 stars. Voluntarily read ARC for honest review. .
Second, third, how many chances?
They’ve been friends and she’s been in love with him since they were kids. He left for college, he left again to practice law in New York…so it goes. Once more he’s back for his brother’s wedding, as the wedding planner she can’t totally avoid him–but she can sure try. She’s not going through the pain of another breakup.
Getting what you want doesn’t always satisfy. Yes, he wanted to be a big-time lawyer and he was well on his way. Living in the big city wasn’t the same as Night Meadow Island. He didn’t have his family, he didn’t live right on the water, and most important, he didn’t have Amelia. She just wouldn’t like living in New York and he would like, even love, living near his family. He’d even change his name as all men who married one of the Knight witches did. First, he had to convince her he was staying this time. Not gonna be easy.
The second book in a new series by the author.
Overall rating: 4.5
A very heart felt and sweet romance story highlighting that things don’t always fall into place when the timing is wrong. The storyline flows smoothly which makes the pages fly by. Even though we know where this couple should end up, most naturally with an HEA , the sweet journey allowed a reader to feel the warmth of love. A touch of magic is included but not really the focal point. A perfect read when you just wants great HEA to read. All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
