I am such a fan of a wonderful paranormal mystery. And this one is so good.
I couldn’t put it down. It has such wonderful characters. I loved reading…
Mystery in a Fishbowl
I am a big fan of paranormal cozy mysteries, so I’m surprised I did not discover this series until this book! But I am glad I did (and equally glad that the author has provided a box set that includes the first three books so I can catch up). While we rarely see an actual detective as the focal point of a cozy, this completely worked in this book because the heroine, a hereditary witch whose family does not want their magical background to be widely known, ends up having a personal stake in this particular mystery because of her grandmother. I enjoyed the first scene at the glitzy occasion. We don’t normally see those in cozies. I love mysteries that are confined in a space because that makes the tension of it all out naturally increase. The book started a little slowly, but that is common in British-style cozy mysteries (which I would consider this one to be). The author was able to balance the paranormal, the quirky, and the mystery aspects well. This doesn’t always happen in paranormal cozies, so it is a delight when it does. If you enjoy well-written British-style paranormal cozy mysteries, you may very well enjoy this book as much as I did.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
This is book 4 of A Witch Detective Cozy Mystery Series. I found the storyline for this book interesting and well written. I love the characters and they are well developed. A really great cozy mystery that I would recommend reading.

I love when an author brings other characters from one series into another. It’s like having friends all getting together! That’s what this book was like when Cece, Lola and Valentine met Esme, Allegra and Jasper at a party. Unfortunately, Uncle Jordan was there too. Still as evil as always. Good thing though, since Cece, Lola and Esme are good at investigating. And boy, was there a lot to look into! Loved this book! So much finally came to a conclusion for everyone. It was great!

Grandma say the culprit, but can’t really identify him. That still makes her a target and our heroine is needs to solve this mystery when no one else will.
This is book four of the series, but it works just fine as a standalone. Everything you need to know will be apparent at the beginning of the story.
This is a cozy witch mystery. The story is well written, easy to read and fun, with just the right level of humor sprinkled in. The characters are well developed with their own distinct, and sometimes quirky, personalities. I found the mystery in the plot to be well done with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. But the characters are the real star of the show. Our heroine grows on me a bit more with each new book. Overall, it was a very fun read and I look forward to many more.
Highly recommended.

I truly enjoy this series and they keep getting better with each one. This time the girls and her grandmother go to a friend’s engagement party and Lola finds out that her uncle is the fiancee. The next morning the bride to be is missing but Lola believes her uncle killed her but to all who will. Listen he was told. Well written with well thought out characters who the author elaborates more on as each book is released.

Secrets are hard to keep
While on a weekend getaway with Lola and Grams, Cece becomes embroiled in a mystery that unlocks doors to the past no one ever imagined. I loved the story with all the twists and turns that kept me fully engrossed for hours on end. If you love mysteries mixed with a bit of magic, you’re going to love this one!
Well worth losing a night of sleep. Once I started the book, I couldn’t put it down. I couldn’t figure out who the murderer was or if it might even be multiple people involved in the murders. I really enjoyed this book, and look forward to reading more books in this series.
Succubi and incubi have Hunger issues when dealing with romantic connections.
Lola has been having ongoing legal issues with her uncle claiming all properties belonging to her deceased grandmother.
What a shock to discover the new fiance of her friend is her uncle.
Various lethal and legal dangers and chaos follows.
Friendships and family connections are put to the test as a variety of prejudices and preconceived notions are aired.
Action and drama packed, with strong female characters – some of whom are bad a@@ in less than kind ways.
Cece is at away for the weekend with Lola and her Grandmother. They are at a party that has them rubbing elbows with some powerful magical people. Cece gets to meet some of the people that her grandmother works with. Rani knows Lola and her grandmother. They are having a conversation when her fiancé comes to get her. Her fiancé is Lola’s Uncle, no one believe it. Rani knows that they were related but never told Lola. Cece and Lola decided to have fun at the party, even though her grandmother went to bed.
Cece is awakened by her grandmother in the morning. Her grandmother has blood on her head, saying that she is dead. Cece thinks it is Lola, so she goes to her room. Cece finds Lola is fine, just sleeping. She goes back to her room, but her grandmother is keeping quiet. When it just the three of them, she tells them what she saw. That someone murder Rani, dragged her out the house. Cece decides to have a look around, but she hears others talking. She goes into another room, finds Lola’s uncle and others there. They are saying she has run off, but Rani’s friend is saying she is dead.
Things get confusing as more facts come to light, anyone of the guests could have done it. Alot of it points to Lola’s Uncle, Lola would love to prove it was him. Cece has a limited time to find out what has happened but there is more to the story. Did she really run away or was she killed, what really happened to Lola’s Uncle first wife, who benefited from all of it.
There is a lot that goes on in this book, you will be on rollercoaster with Cece trying to figure out who did. I didn’t go into to much as I don’t want to give anything away. You will enjoy this read, love that Storm is in this and the major piece of information that will mostly likely change everything for Cece in the end. I recommend reading this story.

Fun series! Cece has only a weekend to solve a murder mystery so complicated that it seems an impossible task. A wonderful weekend was planned to enjoy the town of Brimstone Bay, attend a real Ball and sightsee. However, murder pushed all the fun aside and took all their time. The characters in this story were well defined and most of them were people you would want as friends. The world building was done in such a way that you felt you were in the mansion with the characters. Really enjoy this series and highly recommend to all cozy mystery lovers.
The characters are great. It had a lot of twists that kept me guessing until I finished it. Thanks for the chance to read it.
