He was her rescuer. Would he also be the love of her life?Lilah Levitt made a terrible mistake when she answered a job advertisement for a hotel in Idyll Wood, Wisconsin. Kidnapped and carted off to a brothel in the North Woods, she barely escaped being abused. If not for Sheriff Fred Sittig, her situation would have been tragic. No matter how often he tried to reason with Lilah, Sheriff Sittig … Sheriff Sittig could not get her to realize that she didn’t love him. She was only grateful. After all, what would a beautiful and talented young woman want with a backwoods sheriff who could hardly read or write.
Unwilling to leave Idyll Wood, desperate to win the sheriff’s love, Lilah Levitt writes a letter to the Lovelorn column for advice. The answer might shock them both and shake up the town of Idyll Wood in the process. What love isn’t worth some hardship after all?

Loved Fred and Lilah’s story! My favorite sentence was from Fred: “If you pushed, it was only because I’m not giving you what you need.” He said this because Lilah had to push him to say “I love you.” He told her he’d been showing her all along, but she told him she really needed to hear it! Once he found out, he was fine with that! Like so many things, marriage relies on communication, and thankfully, Fred was willing to learn that lesson!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
I so loved this book. Marisa Masterson is a wonderful storyteller. Her Idyllwood, Wisconsin stories are wonderful. There is drama, mystery, love and so much more. I know you will love the books as much as I did. This book ties everything together, solves some mysteries but not without the drama that comes with solving those mysteries!

I was working through the Nurses of the Heart series, but it disbanded and many authors chose to put their already written books into their own new series. A Nurse for Niall became the second book in Marisa Masterson’s series, so here I am reading her book one which is part of the Lovelorn series! Now I’ve got even more books to read LOL!
Because it seemed like we came in, in the middle of this story, I hope to discover the beginning of Lilah and Fred’s story as well.
Other than that aspect, I loved this quirky story where the woman is the pursuer! While weak on the Christian side, this book is heavy on the Sweet!
Marisa Masterson brings a story with humor, romance and mystery. Fred and Lilah certainly had an unusual meeting and “courtship”. I enjoyed this story.
Marisa Masterson doesn’t disappoint. This book was awesome. I had no idea who was kidnapping girls. Lilah was one of those girls. Fred Sittig rescued Lilah and now she is following him bringing her delicious desserts every day trying to get his attention. Fred thinks she loves him because he rescued her. I highly recommend this book.
Chasing the love of ur hero, does it work out?
Check it out this woman is a sweetheart that drawls trouble, luckily her love is a sheriff, can he save her every time? This book is full of emotions! must read!
The author has penned a wonderful story that is full of action which includes a kidnapping, a bad choice, violence, insecurities and romance. This is Lilah Levitt and Sheriff Fred Sittig’s story. Will Lilah and Sheriff Fred ever be able to navigate the rough road ahead of them to reach a HEA. Be sure to read the story to find out. I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend it. I know you will enjoy it!!!
This book has it all, action, suspense, drama and romance. It will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. This book deals with violence against women but it is not explicit. Lilah’s story will touch your heart. I highly recommend this book. I received an ARC copy of this book and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Lilah Levitt was rescued by Sheriff Fred Sittig and she never forgot it. She felt drawn to him ever since her rescue and was set on becoming a couple. Fred was attracted to Lilah but felt that she just saw her infatuation with him as hero worship. This book has drama, intrigue/mystery and of course romance. What made this story even more fun was it was based out of Wisconsin which is where I live!
