FAQs ABOUT THE SERIES:
Q. Is this one of those incomplete books that ends on a big CLIFFHANGER?
A. Nope! The main murder mystery introduced in book 1 is completely resolved by the end of the book, and justice for that crime is served. As with most series books, there are some ongoing side plot lines that continue through the series. The end of each book contains hints about upcoming stories, but each title in the series can be read as a complete stand-alone.
Q. Is there sexual content or bad language?
A. The “heat level” is sweet, and the language is clean, making this a great read suitable for all ages and tastes.
Q. How long are the books?
A. The paperbacks are about 300 pages, and the audiobooks are 8 to 10 hours.
Q. Are these books dark and depressing, or upbeat?
A. Definitely upbeat. There are some dramatic elements to keep things interesting, but the tone is overall bright and cheerful, with plenty of humor. Readers report high levels of LOLs.

An easy fun read of an entertaining story
It was kind of a roller coaster ride, and moved very fast, but a very fun read.
I bought the audible book because it sounded good, but I struggled to get through it. I kept thinking I would return it but kept listening. The narrator made it hard to listen as she kept yelling, sort of, with highs and lows throughout the book. I also found the main character unlike able, but thought the 16 year old daughter was more likable.
Very good. Kept my interest. Always wondering what happens next.
The humour was not very sophisticated or clever.
Great series!
Fun book to read. Hard to put down
Compelling characters, good mystery… i didn’t care for the “cliffhanger” ending… an author should trust their readers to want the next book without a teaser. A good read.
Very entertaining read.
A fun book
I have been getting into more urban fantasy of late. There is a lot going on on in my life and I I am having trouble concentrating on the heavy tomes I usually enjoy, Kate Atkinson and Guy Gavriel Kay. I have worked my way through all of Meghan Ciana Doidge’s books, and then this one fell into my lap as it were.
The writing is snappy and fun, the dialogue between mother and daughter true to life as well as white funny. It’s just enjoyable. I think I got it either for free or for $.99 on Bookbub. I swore I was not going to get sucked in to buying the other books in the series.
You know I did.
Sometimes I just want to float away from today with a smile on my face and a chuckle ready to burble away. This is a book for that very thing. Thanks so much.
The “Z’s” have it. Fun from the first paragraph. ‘Shifting’ and spells, toasters, wine, family and can’t wait to find out about the donut baby.
I love the mother daughter relationship with their quick wit. It reminds me of the Gilmore Girls.
Really cute book, humorous, great read
I read this book in one day because I didn’t want to put it down. It was cute and funny.
Thanks for using this Neil Gaiman quote: “Google can bring you back 100,000 answers. A librarian can bring you back the right one.” I heartily concur.
I loved, loved, loved this book. If I could give it a ten i would. I couldn’t put it down. You have a talent that most of the authors here don’t have. Thank you so much.
Lauren
Fun read. Plenty of details, but the story is in the details which made it fun to read. The banter between Mother and Daughter priceless. Couple of slow spots, but nothing that made me close the book. Not what you would call a clean read, no rampant sex, but a foul word and definite thoughts of attraction. I am looking forward to reading more in this series.

This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary.
I am a fan of this author’s books but this new series is hilarious! There is so much witty banter and clever remarks, I feel I should listen again because I might have missed some! It is such a fun listen! I had a smile on my face most of the time the book was playing. I loved the plot, the crazy characters, and the silly connection between the mother and daughter! An enjoyable witch story with added ghost and shifter and who knows what else in this town… this has wonderful potential for a super series! I am in love with it already!
The narrator was wonderful! Performing comedy isn’t easy but she made it seem natural! Perfect narration! So funny!
I enjoy this series. The characters are entertaining. It’s a good cozy.
