Bohemian artist, Shelly Santiago has had a fulfilling career, amazing friends, and great family. There’s only been one thing missing in her life: someone to share it with. At fifty-six, she thinks her time has come and gone for finding love.Straight-laced gallery owner, Grant Alexander, knows that even with the tragedy of losing his wife ten years ago, he’s been blessed with a great life and … life and career. The only thing that’s been bothering him is the promise he made to his late wife before she passed.
Side by side, Shelly and Grant have worked together for years. Nothing ever more than friends, and sometimes not even that. As complete opposites, what happens when they start to realize the building attraction they feel for one another? Will they jump into the possibilities of more or will they keep one hand up and their own hearts guarded? Will Grant be able to keep his promise to his late wife? Will Shelly get what she’s always wished for?
Wishing For You will take you on moonlit walks on the beach to remind you that it is never too late for love!

Oh. My. Heart! This book really stole my heart! Shelley has watched Grant go through the worst heartache, whilst going through it herself. But she is determined not to let him drown. She is there for him, a light in the dark.
Over time their feelings start to change but neither want to upset the apple cart.
This broke my heart!! But damn, it gave me hope. And if you don’t have anything, have hope! Please!!
Loved this!!

Ever since I read Longing For You I’ve wanted Shelly’s story. I devoured this book quick. Shelly and Grant were definitely over due on their happily ever after. It didn’t matter that it was one’s first love and the other ones last. It meant the same for both.
Grant owns the gallery that Shelly works at. He gave her a shot when she was starting out and Shelly will never forget it. Shelly became very very good friends with Grant and his wife Olivia. Shelly stood by Grant when Olivia got sick and past away. Before Olivia passed away Olivia made both Grant and Shelly make her a promise. They didn’t know the effect their promises would be.
Since his wife’s death Grant spends most of his time with younger woman after woman. His wife’s promise never leaves his head or heart. The other half of his time he’s with his best friend/co-worker and neighbor Shelly. They have such great times together. After he lost his wife it was Shelly who made sure he didn’t loose himself. She really was his best friend until one day she was so much more. Grant can’t believe it’s been 10 yrs for him to see what was right in front of him. But, should he say anything and ruin everything if she doesn’t feel the same way…
Shelly has never been in love. She just watched her best friend Jess fall back in love with an old flame. She also watched her best friend loose his. Shelly wonders if she’ll ever fall in love. Shelly is happy with her life. She loves the time she gets with Grant. They are such good friends. Then one afternoon everything changed. Grant wasn’t just Grant. He was so much more. Shelly was so confused by her sudden feelings for Grant. Shelly’s not sure if she should act on her feelings for him or just keep them to herself.
I really did enjoy this book. I did like Longing For You a little better. I think it’s because Jess did have Shelly around. But, Shelly didn’t talk to no one about what was going on btwn her head and heart. I found that weird for someone in her 50’s to feel things for the first time and never talk about it with anyone. But, overall I did fall for both Grant and Shelly. I can’t wait for Mayra’s next book to hit my kindle.
This was a sweet love story. Shelly has been friends with her boss Grant and his wife Olivia for years. When Olivia passes away she vows to her friend to help Grant move forward. Finding a comfortable friendship over the years, Grant sees that he is drawn to Shelly but is it worth roxking their friendship? Does Shelly feel the same way? I loved getting glimpses of this couple through the years, it was a unique way to do this story and I really enjoyed it!
This was a very enjoyable read for me. I actually liked this one way better than the first book “Loving For You”. The Friendship between Grant and Shelly was so believable and well written. I fell for these two from the start and even though Grant was going through some heavy stuff I loved how Shelly was his rock and he was hers when she needed someone. Now this may be just me but I kept feeling like I was reading a book about a younger couple, not a couple that was over the age of 55. It was a little distracting but not enough to ruin the story. Other than that I really loved it. Im still curious if Grant ever found out why Shelly wore all those necklaces? Hmmm….Oh well on to the next.
Happy Reading
I absolutely loved this tale of friends to lovers!
Grant and his wife have always been supporters in Shelly and her talent as a artist. Shelly has never faltered in love and admiration for her friends. Shelly loved Grant and his wife like family. Years pass and things change. Grant is now a widower and our lovely Shelly has never found true love.
Grant and Shelly could not be more different. Shelly is out carefree Bohemian artist while Grant is our suit sporting business man . Love knows no boundaries. It does not discriminate but our two long time friends may need a bit of a push in the right direction to realize what was right in front of them all these years.
Mayra never cease to amaze me in writing characters that we love and want to know so much!
Fabulous story!

Another 5 star book by Mayra. What a short but sweet story. Loved Grant and Shelly. A great friends to lovers tale.
It’s really never too late to find love and that’s why I love Mayras books. She writes with such heart it shows on the pages. Every book she writes is better and better than the last.
Wishing For You is about Shelly an easy going fun artist and Grant her boss, owner of the art gallery where she’s worked for a long while. These two characters are fun and the sparks that fly are fun to watch unfold.
These two have been friends for a long time. Shelly was good friends with his wife who the lost to cancer about 10 years ago. She made them each promise to take care of each other.
They are best friends, but one day things change and their interactions become something more than ‘just friends’. Will Grant except that Shelly might be able to love him even now? Or do they blow it. Read this to find out.
These two are over 50+ and we find out that it’s never too late for love.
