I actually would go as far as saying this slice of Kimber and Vinn is my favourite. We see a much needed insight into Kimbers life, with only an inkling of what she had to go through growing up. I really warmed to Kimber in this part of the story, and my heart was with her with the effects drug addiction had on her family and especially her own mental health. Kimber, in the previous books, was a little immature, but I found that she began to come into her own in this book and I really enjoyed reading her story. I liked that Vinn stopped being such a douche at times and didn’t treat her like crap anymore, that he finally accepted his feelings and his attitude adjusted so, and even though he doesn’t want to jeopardise his freedom, he wants to help Kimber even if that means contemplating his old life again.
I loved that there was a bit of action and thrill. I enjoyed reading the interactions between Vinn and Kimber, and how they worked well together under pressure. Not to fret, there is still the hot sex and chemistry we have come accustom to with Vinn and Kimber.
The main triggers include the struggles with drug addiction/overdose/ general family life and coping with an addict. This is an issue that touches a lot of peoples life and many who have been in these characters shoes, so just a heads up.
Something that has caught my attention is Rubi, her lovey dovey attitude is not what it was in book 1….this girl needs her own story!! I want to know what has happened to her.
Wishes is the third installment of “with the bad boy series”. To understand the story the previous two books, Encounter and Taken, should ideally be read. These stories are quick enough to read in your lunch break. Wishes kept my attention throughout, and had me turning the page to read more. It is fast paced but easy to follow, with relatable characters and life issues. It finishes with a cliffhanger, which makes you beg for the next book.
The Kimber and Vinn story continues with Wishes. Vinn continues to try to stay on the right path and give Kimber the support she needs to help her get through the rough times with her family. Vinn gives it his all when it comes to Kimber. However, Vinn’s character is tested once again because of the deepening feelings he has for Kimber. Wanda Amard ends Wishes on a feeling of anticipation for Escape (book 4) to answer the what next questions for Kimber and Vinn.
Wishes is the third installment of the Vinn and Kimber story. They have such a combustible chemistry that Vinn is willing to do anything to make Kimber’s life easier, even go back to his dark side. Kimber, although young and naive, sees and appreciates the sacrifice Vinn is making for her and her family. I can’t wait to see what the 4th installment, Escape, has for them. I received this as an ARC for my honest review.
Wishes by Wanda Amard a five-star read you can with upon like a star. This is the third novel in the With the bad boy series and what a super quick, super cool read. Vinn and Kimber are like matches and gasoline they burn bright and hot, but will they burn quickly and leave nothing behind. Vinn is just trying to figure his new life, will he do the right thing? Kimber can come a across as her age at times but overall, she really does show a strength to her that was simply sublime. I was so excited when I saw there is a number four in this series. Escape can’t come soon enough!!
