ABOUT THE DARK GUARDS SERIES
When North America’s most prominent warlock prince creates a mysterious task force, rumors are inevitable. Some people call them the Dark Guards. Some people call them his own personal militia. Some people call them the first step toward making his own empire. The only thing everyone knows for certain is this: The Dark Guards are a fierce group of specialists with unique and powerful magics. And that seems like a pretty good reason to worry…

Wishes and Warlocks by Lori Whyte is an awesome story that I have read. This is book number two in this awesome series that I have loved reading very much and can not wait to read book number three. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about magic and paranormal romances.

Thrilling and magical, action packed adventure filled with dangerous and exciting charters, witty banter, heart racing twists and undeniable passion, was a great read from beginning to end.
I had a great time with this book. The characters are well developed and engaging with a hot alpha and sassy woman. The chemistry is undeniable throughout the pages. The storyline has an easy making for an enjoyable time reading.

Well worth reading!
This is the 2nd book I’ve read written by Lori Whyte; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the characters.

I received arc of this book and volunteer to review. Fantastic read and love this series. Lori is one of my favorite authors and her work is a wonderful place to go.
wildly improbable but super paranormal action romance
The Dark Guard Series by Lori White is shaping up to be a wild ride. Wishes and Warlocks, book 2, is chock-full of plot twists, strange magical “gifts” – like the heroine’s Plague Touch – evil black magic, and loyal paranormally gifted quasi-military royal guards – like our hero. The good and the bad are not always what they seem in this thriller/paranomal soap opera/sexy romance, and even though I can’t really explain it, I enjoyed the heck out of it. This has been a voluntary ARC review.
Fab read
A princess and her bodyguard.
With a twist.
Reed West is a bodyguard to Princess Sophia. But she’s a witch.
And there a trip to Hawaii?
It’s a little bit cray-cray.
Heartwarming and emotional read that tugs on the heartstrings. This is a very enjoyable story of Sophia and Reed. This has great adventure and vivid details. I cannot wait to read future books in this series.

The second book in the Dark Guards series a story that kept me turning pages, what a sick Mother that woman was. This is Princess Sophia and her bodyguard Reed’s story there is suspense, magic, drama, danger, evil, and romance. I want to read Web and Kendra’s story. I would recommend this book. This story shows love and hope even in the worst of times and that you are never truly alone even if it feels that way. I loved reading this story. This is book two and would be better enjoyed if you read book one first.
Sophie has been nicknamed the Plague Princess since she developed her power at age six. Her power is in her hand so it has been contained in an iron gauntlet ever since. She wants to be free to live her life and not have everyone be afraid of her. She has never felt truly loved. Her mother pawned her off on her uncle Prince Reg and now she wants her imprisoned.
Reed saw her in an institution when he prevented an attack towards her. So now Reg placed him as her bodyguard. He has feelings for her but he can’t let his emotions interfere with his job and get her harmed because of it.
The insurgents make another play for her. Will Reed be able to protect her? Will she ever feel loved and be free from her curse?

Totally enjoyed reading this story. Im not normally into witches and warlocks books so much, but this author certainly has a way of weaving her stories, that draws her audience in and keeps them wanting to read more. I loved both of these characters in this story, though i had to feel sorry for Sophie and her powers. Powers that one wouldnt think anyone would want. But there lyes the problem some wants her powers and not for good either.
This is a fabulous paranormal romance! I really loved it! It is fascinating and fun to read… plus full of adventure, romance and magic…

The story line was good, the character work was great, and the book had a smooth flow to it. This was the first book by this author that I’ve read, but it won’t be the last.

Ms. Whyte is a new to me author. When I read the blurb for this book, I had to read. She mentions that she was reticent to publish due to everything in the world, and I’m glad she did and did not change Sophie’s magic.
This was a wonderful love story with so many emotional and heart-warming scenes. I will warn you that I had tears, so don’t be surprised.
I am absolutely in love, and in awe of Reed! I think someone would have to have the toughest skin in the world not to fall hopelessly in love with him.
I cannot wait to read more by this author!
I received an advanced reader copy, and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Intriguing world and complex characters. Reed and Sophie both had their own trials and in a great author choice it did not make them bitter and hateful, lacking in self worth and desperate for love but not hateful and you find yourself really rooting for them. As for the world, a fascinating take on witches and warlocks with Greek God tie-ins. I loved the explanation for why mom magic people are called Castor’s kind.
I actually read this book before reading the first one and I would suggest reading them in order. I didn’t miss anything in the romance but there were some world building that was not totally clear until I read the definitions in the back. Still, great story and I am looking forward to the next one!

Exciting read about a witch at risk and her bodyguard and how they survive the resultant chaos. I received an ARC copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a well written book with strong, well developed characters in Sophie and Reed. The author brings two broken souls together, forming a deep understanding and love for one another after lifetime of hard times. I enjoyed watching them come together and enjoyed reading their story.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Oh boy do these two characters pull on the heartstrings. Princess Sophie (FMC) has had a hard life. Basically shunned or avoided by everyone (including her mother who is truly horrible) except her uncle (who is the complete opposite of his sister and hes caring & kind). Sophie is so scared of getting close or touching anyone that shes a complete loner. Until her uncle hires Reed as a personal bodyguard. Two damaged by life people as Sophie & Reed together seem to understand each other. Where theres a compassion, respect & love between both of them. Thats really nice to read. I loved how Sophie & Reed were together. I wanted them to get together so much from the very start of the book. So good
