Sometimes the right person enters your life at exactly the wrong time…For the first time in her life, struggling bakery owner Julie Farmington has something that is all hers. She’s not interested in any entanglements or anything that takes her mind off her goal—including the handsome stranger who is only in town for a month.Forced to take time off work, Reed Newman makes a spur-of-the-moment … Newman makes a spur-of-the-moment decision and books a trip to Belle Island, Florida. A surprising choice that goes against everything in the rigid, well-planned life he fills with constant activity to keep from dealing with his pain and guilt.
As he struggles to make peace with his past—and learn to relax—he finds himself falling for the charming owner of The Sweet Shoppe. But Julie tells herself she isn’t interested in a man who is just going to leave when he returns home. She’s not interested in adding yet one more name to the list of people who have walked out of her life.
She’s not interested. Really.
But emotions heat up. Reed’s past and Julie’s present collide and history threatens to repeat itself.
And neither one saw it coming…

A wonderful story to get lost in- Julie and Reed make a wonderful couple and I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.
Heart-warming story, loved it and stayed up way too late. But that’s how it goes when you love a book.
Great summer read. Couldn’t wait to finish reading it!!
Ok for a G rated read.
This us a simple, well- written story. The main character has trust issues which are understood by her friends
However, her friends are not willing to allow her to lose a relationship that might be the best for her. Her love interest finds the courage to overcome his fears so that they could build a trusting relationship.
Couldn’t put this down!
A modern holiday romance. I loved it.
I loved this story. It was really unique and it held my interest to the very end!
I enjoyed this romantic read that takes place in a location much like where I live—name changed to protect the area!! I’d like to read about the other characters that are featured in this read.
Sweet and shows a real struggle many have.
I really enjoyed reading this novel. I identified with the main characters and enjoyed the interplay among them. It was so nice to read about friends helping and caring about each other and encouraging two people who needed each other to work out their problems.
Just when you feel at your lowest and want to give up…. life can turn into better than you can imagine!!!
Loved the relationships of the three friends
The book was well written and enjoyable . It described realistic feelings and actions.

This story had an opportunity to be so much more. The idea is good for a small resort town to have a guy come stay for a month, changing the dynamic. A horrible female character could twist the story. You know something happened to him to shut him down. You know something happened to her. You don’t find out for either of them until near the end.
But, this is written so vanilla and dull. Dull details. Undeveloped characters. I was almost to the end before I could calculate the heroine was 36 years old … initially I thought 50s, middle they said young.
I’ve read many clean stories with at most kissing. Some with just leading up to and after sex, but not biology lessons. This had very uninspiring kisses after the halfway point.
Gratifying impeccable story!
I liked this story that took place on Belle Island with its beautiful beaches, and the Bakery Cafe & Inn. The great friendships among the three women . You will really enjoy this story line and I would recommend this book. I will look for other books by Kay Correll.
A good, happy, easy read. I liked the characters and the plot of this book. Reed was a bit of a wuss but turned out ok. Looking forward to reading the next installment of this series.
A sweet read that left me all tingly. I loved all the characters. Tally, Susan and Julies friendship was awesome. Look forward to reading more from this series.
