Well, it is final now – I am moving to Cressmouth/Christmas soon! Handsome, wealthy & sexy Christopher Pringle, is ready to settle down & find a bride. She must love to travel, live by facts & crave adventure.
Miss Gloria Godwin, lady astronomer & she will never leave Cressmouth, loves doing things by how it feels rather than following the rules & she loves pretending to travel by reading/dressing about places without having to leave her home.
These two are absolute opposites – as they grow fond of one another, will they be able to bridge the gap?
I loved reuniting with earlier book characters & I am looking forward to Virginia Underwood & the recovering wounded war hero’s story. This is a great series & all the books have been great – you won’t be disappointed!
Ms Ridley always brings her best
Enjoyed my second trip to Christmas! The town and it’s people are all wonderful. These are great stories. The characters are wholly drawn and unique.
Ugh, it was pretty bad. The town of Christmas was quaint. And even if I wasn’t warned about the Christmas Carol reference I’d have had to be blind to miss them. One or two is fine especially if it’s a good twist but repeatedly hitting me over and over again just makes me nauseous. The right turn into “steamy” didn’t help. For a sweet romance you forgo the sex scene and naughty flirting. For a steamy romance, naughty flirting and sexual themes and words are used from the start. Bosom should never ever enter a sex scene on pain of death.
Wish Upon A Duke is a book in a Christmas series and the hero and heroine are well developed. They are witty and fun and the reader roots for them. They each have strong reasons for not falling in love with each other and Ridley keeps the reader wondering how they will get together in the end.
Why should astronomers always have to be serious? I found it charming to have the heroine make stargazing imaginative and childishly fun, encouraging others to see the skies in their own way with their own stories. I particularly liked her ‘duke’, although Christopher clearly had a challenge with Gloria’s lighthearted renaming Draco. The arguments between serious Christopher and homebody Gloria were as enjoyable for me as they ultimately were for them. This was a fun read.
An Adorable ‘Romantic & Intriguing Story.
Christopher Pringle is a Marquess loves adventure & is looking forward to more Adventure after he has found a wife.
Gloria loves Adventure but through books & make believe. After everyone Gloria cared about was taken from her by the Sea.
I enjoyed reading this Book.
Fun characters told in a whimsical and easy to read story. This story kept me turning the pages. Love the village of Christmas and it’s characters.
A well written fun book.
This book is part of the “Twelve dukes of Christmas” series and the one I so far like the best. This book’s story is about what is one willing to sacrifice for one’s true love.
Too predictable.
Festive and fun!
An exquisite story of meeting one and only sweetheart; giving persistent, heartening and perpetual love!
Very lukewarm struggled to finish it.
A very sweet story
Not much plot, but of course there was an explicit sex scene.
Everyone might not find it Witty but I did it made me chuckle and smile it was a good read.
can always count on Erica Ridley to make me chuckle (or laugh)
A good read! Involved with the characters….
Opposite of each other yet alike. This witty book balances the go by the rules man to a woman that breaks them. One of my favorite parts is when they meet the couple is attracted to one another, but when Chris hears the blonde beauty spouting off the wall stuff about his beloved stars, he walks off in a huff.
