This hockey playing cowboy is one sexy rancher and the chemistry is hot enough to melt the ice. A great holiday romance that warms the heart while bring joy and cheer to the season. The characters are strong, compelling and easily draw the readers into their story and the relationship between Logan and Harper is rife with emotional turmoil that makes them come to life while the magnetic attraction between the two makes it obvious that they belong together and these two wounded souls could heal each other and reach that happily ever after that everyone yearns for.
The plot is steady paced and keeps readers glued to the pages and Harper keeps her secrets hidden even while she fights for the return of her son, she takes some knocks but still has the ability to make time and do things for others that warms the heart and makes her heroine that readers can get really get a feel for while the hero is super sexy with a vulnerability that he believes makes him less than desirable which tugs at every heart string that readers have in this emotionally gripping, & heartwarming holiday romance.
Miracle at River Gulch
I would not push my luck and say “Can things get worse?” if I were Harper. This poor woman has had a run of bad luck, bad decisions, and isn’t too trusting of anyone else or even herself. All she wants is a fresh start with her son, Floyd.
Logan, contrary to what he denies about not being Eeyore, really kinda is lol, except he’s a handsome cowboy. He’s had no good luck ever, with women, until he meets and hires Harper. These two needed some miracles and this small town helped provide some of them.
A sexy, intense whirlwind love that neither thought they wanted, along with quite a few obstacles to knock out, the major one being trust. A fairly fast read, tho again with a few thoughts and scenarios reiterated more than I needed, but still a good read with all the feels. A happy Christmas ever after with new traditions to carry on
This is a wonderful holiday romance with endearing characters Harper and Logan both have issues and aren’t interested in a relationship but, in coming together they will find more than they ever hoped for. This is an emotional tale that will pull on your heartstrings.
A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. This one about the struggles Harper goes through and trying to change her life around. Also struggles Logan has to deal with himself with how he reacts to his own life. A standalone read but to learn about all characters in the story you want to read all in the series. A great series to pick up.
This is the fourth book in the series but the first I have read of the series and this author. Each book can be read as a standalone. I liked the book. Harper and Logan were so good together. Harper needed a job while she was looking for her son and Logan needed a temporary housekeeper. They had good chemistry between them. With each other’s help, they will be able to get what they are looking for and to find the love that they have been needing but not really looking for.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Harper, after getting out of the jail need two things: job and get her son back.
Logan is at the end with his current housekeeper, who thinks she will become new Mrs. Logan Rivers. With someone’s help, Harper gets the job. Logan likes Harper’s cooking and he likes her, but then he learns the reasons she is here working.
Great story, loved this book.
Cowboys of Creedence? Yes please! This time, we get Logan’s story. With his sister married and his father away from the ranch, it looks like Logan will be alone for Christmas, but that’s the least of his worries. What he desperately needs is a housekeeper, and one whose focus is on cleaning, cooking and laundry rather than becoming the next Mrs. Rivers. Thanks to his friend Bryn at the diner, it looks like Harper Evans may be the answer to Logan’s prayers.
Harper’s life has gone a bit off the rails, but she’s determined to make the money she needs to have her young son back in her life and make a home for him. However, her mother-in-law doesn’t seem too willing to let go of her only remaining connection to her deceased son. But Harper won’t let anything sway her from her goal, not even the handsome rancher and the feelings he stirs up in her.
With strong themes of forgiveness, healing and second chances, this is exactly the kind of book to remind a reader about the true meaning of Christmas, as well as a great way to escape some of the busyness of the season. These characters will work their way under your skin, and you won’t want to miss their compelling, heartfelt, uplifting story.
Christmas miracles
I loved this story of a down on her luck mother trying to do everything possible to get her son back. Being given chances by people in a small town she absolutely never expected and falling for a sexy cowboy
This story is just in time for Christmas and for those who are looking for a little miracle in their livesI’m hoping for another story for Zane and Bryn but will wait to see what Jennie does next
I received an advanced copy via Netgalley and just wanted to thank the publisher and Jennie for the opportunity to voluntarily leave my honest review
Holiday Wishes! A sweet and sexy story of two strangers needing something in their lives to hold onto. Logan and Harper were perfect for each other. They both broke my heart with the individual struggles they were separately dealing with. I fell in love with Floyd and wished he had played a bigger part in the story. I was also thrilled when Judith finally let down her armor to except Harper. This story is filled with love, family and friends and made my heart happy. The added aspect that it is a holiday story was bonus.
What’s not to love about a story with hot cowboys and Christmas goodness? I’ve been waiting for Logan to get his story told and it was definitely worth it. Loved him and Harper together. They just seem to fit together perfectly. Hope we get another visit to Creedence.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC received via NetGalley.
Wish Upon A Cowboy is a fabulous Christmas western romance by Jennie Marts. Ms. Marts has provided readers with a well-written book. The characters are outstanding and just plain lovable. Harper is a widow and single mom when her mother asks for her help. Before she can fix what her mother got her into she finds herself in the county jail for two months. Logan has had to fire his housekeeper/cook and now needs a new one…enter Harper. Logan and Harper’s story is loaded with drama, humor, spice, action and suspense. I enjoyed every page of this book and can’t wait to read more from Jennie Marts. Wish Upon A Cowboy is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Hurray for hunky cowboys! Jennie Marts does it again with this wonderful Christmas love story about two lovable and complex characters, Logan and Harper. Logan is single and a full time rancher and part time hockey coach in the small town of Credence, CO. Harper is a widow and a mom and has been a bit down on her luck after her mother got her involved in something illegal. She comes to town to get her son Floyd back from her mother in law but needs to make some money first so she agrees to be Logan’s housekeeper/cook. Enter that little thing called chemistry which happens to be the game changer for these two. Full of smart witty dialogue, sweet tender moments and steamy sexy times, this may be a quick read, but it is not short on any of the good stuff I love in a romance. Secrets threaten to ruin what they’ve started but hearts win out. I have really been enjoying this series and look forward to more!
I received an ARC from the publisher via Netgalley.
Author Jennie Marts never disappoints. Her readers will love this small town romance with lots of sass, humor, poignancy and some fun Christmas activities to delight the reader.
After the death of her grandmother Harper Evans had no one to watch her son Floyd while she worked. Harper lost her job and was down on her luck when her shady mother, Brandy walked back into her life and offered her an accounting job she could do from home. Too bad Brandy was cooking the books after Harper was done with them. Before Harper could go to the company president once she discovered what her mother was doing they were arrested and charged with embezzlement. Harper’s mother ended up in the federal penitentiary while Harper’s charges were reduced to accessory which earned her two months in the county jail. She had no recourse than to call her deceased husband’s mother to come and take Floyd while she was serving her two months. Now Harper is in Creedence, CO where her mother-in-law lives. She is desperate and broke but determined to get her son back. Harper ends up as a temporary housekeeper at Logan Rivers’ ranch, Rivers Gulch. Neither Harper nor Logan are looking for a relationship but as things turn out it was “attraction-at-first-sight.” Harper not only charmed Logan but she also charmed a lot of the townsfolk. The one person she can’t charm is her mother-in-law who is keeping her son away from her.
Wish Upon a Cowboy by Jennie Marts is the fourth book in her Creedence, Co series. There’s still some hockey involved as hero Logan Rivers is helping to coach the local youth hockey team. The reader gets glimpses of some of the characters from the earlier books in the series. Heroine Harper Evans gets in trouble with Logan for not disclosing the real reason she is in town but that’s part of the conflict and resolution in this story. The author introduces the central characters realistically and the dialogue adds greatly to the story. Logan’s cheesy one-liners will make readers smile. I liked how strong Harper is in this book. I also liked how she came to trust Logan and the journey to their HEA.
Loved this story! Jennie Marts has managed to create a series of hockey playing sexy cowboys that tug at your heartstrings & keep you involved from the beginning. Harper has made a series of mistakes but has paid her price. Now she’s in town to retake guardianship of her son away from his grandmother & move him home. She ends up taking on a job to earn the money to move them home while she struggles with his grandmother.
Logan has had enough of housekeepers who are only interested in getting him to put a ring on their finger. He’s convinced to take a chance on Harper & she’s turned out to be everything he needs. She’s told him from the beginning she’s not interested in anything more than a job. So why is he started to get interested?
Each story in this series can easily be read as a stand alone but if you read them in order, they build upon each other. The chemistry grows slowly between Harper & Logan like it would in real life. Harper’s wit & sass come out more & more as the story goes on & it’s actually something that attracts Logan. I enjoyed the entire story & the clarification that the ending gives.
This is the second book from this series that I have read. This is the story of Logan and Harper. Harper has a colorful past and has come to Colorado to get her son back. Logan is in desperate need of someone to help with the housekeeping and cooking since his sister has moved out and his dad is out of town.
I found this book to be a little long, and I think it could’ve done without some parts – that detracted from the main story line. I really disliked Judith, and I wish she had gotten more of what she deserved – especially after everything that she put Harper and Floyd through. I wish there was some insight as to why the child’s name is Floyd – it seems like such an odd name for this time period.
I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
What a beautiful story! Harper just got out of jail and she has to go to Colorado and find her son Floyd but she stumbles into a diner in the little town where she meets Bryn a waitress who helps everyone. Bryn explains that Logan at the ranch just fired his housekeeper and would she like a ride so she can apply which she gladly takes because she needs to make money to take her son home. Everything is not as easy as that because his grandmother wants to file for custody and because Harper has nothing she knows she would lose. Logan and Harper make a great team and they begin to grow closer but Harper is keeping a lot of secrets from Logan that will ruin everything and cause her to lose custody for her son forever. This story was heartwarming and perfect for the holidays but I would have liked it anytime.

The author takes us back to Creedence where the cowboys are perfect in their imperfections .
This time the story belongs to Logan Rivers, brother of Quinn whom we met in book one. He’s a rancher in need of a housekeeper. One that’s not interested in doing housekeeping on him!
Harper Evans , a woman who has had more obstacles and hardships in her short life than most people have in a lifetime, is in town to get her son back.
In desperate need of a job to earn money and have shelter, suddenly fate intervenes and she ends up working for Logan. Harper is keeping secrets but fears if she reveals them , she’ll be homeless.
A friendship and attraction develops between these two . But both have been left before and guard their hearts.
When things seem to be getting better for Harper, she’s once again pushed to the ground. Will she be able to surface once again, or will her past , and present destroy her future?
Engaging from the start, this story will touch your hearts. This is another well written story by this talented author.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Logan Rivers doesn’t do love or relationships, after being burnt by women too many times to count, he just can’t bring himself to sign-up for that again. He keeps his entanglements with the ladies now on a one night basis, for safety purposes of course. With ranching duties constantly piling up he knows he needs to hire a housekeeper but that task maybe a little harder than he anticipated, especially since every woman applying for the job is only looking to be his new move-in wife, instead of just an employee.
Then Harper Evans shows up on his doorstep and he instantly knows she is perfect for the job, she seems to show no interest in him romantically, and insists she just needs a job. She has a plan to get her son back, and she isn’t about to let anything derail her plan, which means her focus on him should be nil… but him on the other hand is a different story!
Wish Upon a Cowboy is a heartwarming little page-turner that will squeeze your heart in all the right places! This unlikely pairing brings emotion, drama, heat, and humor to the pages, the moment you meet them you fall head over heels for them! This is a slow burner romance, with neither of them looking for love, their resistance to it is high, and so it takes them a while to give in to their attraction. They both have a lot of baggage to sort through too, but they compliment each other nicely and bring out the best in one another. Together they learn to forgive, grow individually, accept things that can’t be changed, and put their trust in one another and eventually open their hearts. It’s such a beautiful story to watch unfold, it’s well penned words will lure you in, but it’s the characters that really steal the show, once you meet them you won’t want to let them go! Highly recommend this one, it’s sure to keep you mesmerized from beginning to end!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, via NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
This is the fourth book in the Cowboys of Creedence series. I have read the previous books in this series, but this book can be read independently and fully enjoyed.
Logan’s believes all the women in his life are temporary and they will leave him eventually. This began with his mother’s departure from his life at an early age. He believes his dyslexia is the reason she left and has carried this burden his entire life. Then his first real girlfriend left him and then he decide to not depend on any woman and to keep relationships with females causal.
Harper finds herself with no one to depend on, except herself. Her mother was never a stable guidance and she caused more pain then love for Harper. Harper’s loving husband has died and due to a bad decision, her child, Floyd, was taken away from her. Harper is now free to reclaim her son and she puts all her focus on that one goal. Unfortunately, it is a difficult task to accomplish, but she would do anything to regain her son.
This led her to Creedence (where her son is staying) and accepting a cook/ housekeeping job from Logan. He is struggling to maintain a house and a ranch almost single-handedly. Harper comes into Logan’s life and makes the house a home again and also takes Logan’s breath away with the immediate attraction he feels toward her. Logan knows Harper is in town temporarily and will be leaving, just as all the other women in his life. While Harper feels the sparks also, her focus is on her son not on herself. Can they keep the attraction on hold and not take action?
Both Logan and Harper are living guarded lives, not trusting people totally with their hearts, but that does not stop them from extending kindness to anyone in need. Living in a small town, kindness is rewarded by receiving the same. In the short time Harper was in town, she shines as bright as a star by giving help to others, even as she was hurting so much inside.
The plot flowed very logical and was a page turner for me. The characters were very well developed and I cared deeply about them and wanted the best outcome possible. Logan is a great man, trying his best to run a ranch, which is hard work. He also is very easy to look at and helps clean up a messy house! Harper is a survivor and will push with pure willpower if that is all she has left. I enjoyed the supporting characters also, including a cow named Star who likes marshmallows!
This was a wonderful romance story during Christmas time. There were several themes going on in this book; learning to trust, forgiving yourself, not letting your “disabilities rule your life”, showing kindness when in a position to do so and believing in a brighter future, like wishing upon a star, or upon a cowboy, for a bright future.
I want to thank NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for allowing me the great pleasure of reading this book. I have enjoyed the other books I have read by Jennie Marts and this is another fantastic story to add to her collection. My review is my own opinion, not influenced by receiving the ARC of this book.
This was a good read, and if you’re looking for a feel good story, this is it! The writing flowed well from start to finish, and I really enjoyed these characters finding their way to each other. This is a slow burn story, Logan and Harper don’t really get together until about 70% of the way through the book, but they’re building their friendship up until then. I did have my frustrations with both of them at different times. Harper for not coming clean when she had the chance, and Logan for lumping Harper in with everyone else. Judith was horrible for most of the book, but I was happy to see things turn around for her too. The ending was super sweet and I loved that these 2 get their HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
