Author Interview
Q: What makes the Wishful series special?
Wishful is a collection of southern romance novels honoring my Mississippi roots. When I started the series, I set out to highlight everything that I love about living in the small town South–all our quirks, foibles, and dreams provide a fabulous (and often funny) backdrop to contemporary romances about stubborn, independent women and the men who love them.
Q: Who would dig these books?
Wishful is a southern romance series written for anyone looking for love in a small town. If you loved Hart of Dixie and miss the residents of Bluebell, you just might fall in love with Wishful. It’s a town where everybody knows your name and hope springs eternal! My many of my readers also enjoy the books of Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Kristan Higgins, Melanie Shawn, Ava Miles, and Jill Shalvis.
Q: What order should I read the books in?
This southern romance series has been written so that each story is a standalone that wraps up with a happily ever after by The End. That said, if you want to read them in chronological order I suggest this:
* To Get Me To You (Cam and Norah)
* Be Careful, It’s My Heart (Brody and Tyler)
* Know Me Well (Liam and Riley)
* Just For This Moment (Myles and Piper)
* Wish I Might (Reed and Cecily)
* Turn My World Around (Tucker and Corinne)
* Dance Me A Dream (Jace and Tara), part of the Romancing The Holidays anthology
Q: Are there crossovers with other series?
YES! My Meet Cute Romance series of novelettes includes two Wishful stories.
* Once Upon A Coffee (predates To Get Me To You)
* Once Upon A Setup (the prequel to Just For This Moment)
My WISHING FOR A HERO series takes a look at the more suspenseful side of Wishful.
* If I Didn’t Care (Judd and Autumn)

Another great addition to this series. The characters and story were amazing. Reed and Cecily’s passion was off the charts and their journey to find love was incredible to watch.
Wish I Might is book 5 in the Wishful series. While I feel like it could stand on its own – the main & some secondary characters are introduced in book 1, To Get Me To You. Some of the events are also concurrent to parts of book 2, Be Careful, It’s My Heart. It would probably be best enjoyed after listening to those.
This was another enjoyable addition to the series and a cute second-chance romance. I liked book-store-owner Reed matched with heiress-in-hiding Cicely. While this did hold some similarities to book 1, the unique character backgrounds gave this story a distinct feel. The comic book references and Cicely’s aunt were fun additions.
Amy McFadden continues to give all the Wishful residents consistent yet unique voices. It’s been a treat to binge this series with her at the helm.
I admit I’m super excited for Tucker & Corinne’s story in Turn My World around.
Hands down the best book I’ve read this year! It all started with the author’s newsletter email. She wrote about Gloriana’s (Kissed You) Good Nightsong/video which she credits as the influence for this book. So I went out and watched the video and knew I had to read the book. The characters in the video became the faces of the characters in the book. Wish I Might (Wishful, #5) my first read/listen from author Kait Nolan. Well-written & enjoyable. a cute romance, the fifth book in this series. I look forward to reading more in this series & from this author, my only question is why did I wait so long to read her. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
Awesome book
I can’t get enough of Kait Nolan’s books and especially the Wishful Romance series! I loved this story of Cecily & Reed, how they overcame obstacles to find their happily ever after. I definitely recommend this book, and the series. However, you don’t need to read them in order to be able to enjoy the books, they can be read as stand-alones. But once you read one, you’ll want to read them all, trust me!
Great book. What an inspiration to have a rich girl want to make it on her own!! Reed is an amazing man and Cecily an inspiration!! A great standalone with a HEA!!!
Another great story in the Wishful series. This is Cecily and Reed’s story and if you have read the earlier books you have meet these two. I really enjoy this series, the characters and setting are great and the stories are engaging.
I received an ARC from the author and have chosen to review it. Wish I Might is first published in the Virtually Yours Anthology. The author originally wasn’t completely satisfied with what she had in this story so when she got the story back she expanded on it and this is the results of that. I hadn’t read it yet in the Virtual Yours but I have it and I compared it between the two and it just looks like there are a few more chapters added to the one being re-released so if you have read this book previously you need to purchase this one to get the full effect. I really loved this book it was a really easy read and just by adding a few chapters it can complete the story in a way that you wouldn’t have expected. This book just had me laughing at moments it was so goofy with the situations that people can get into. The author has done it again. She has brought another beautiful story to an audience that highly appreciates it.
Loved it
3.5
Love her books!
Loved this series.
Beautiful
Another great story out of Wishful. I have enjoyed all of them and it’s great to see how the characters grow with each story.
I read this as a stand alone, but would also recommend the series. Looking forward to reading the stories of the secondary characters.
Rooting for the main characters from the start, this sweet story is worth every word.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book! Can’t wait to start on the rest of the Wishful stories.
I enjoyed it so much, I bought the whole series!
Didn’t like it
Had a little trouble making sense at begiinning of book. Ended well.
I wish to live in Wishful! Living in the south myself, I get really irate with books set in the south who insist on the climate being perpetually “steamy”, or “sultry” to being constantly told that how like “magnolias” or “slow pouring syrup” the accents are. The residents are Wishful are just people and I really appreciated that. Loved the story, loved the characters. When can I move in?
