Star quarterback Marcus Kingston lives and breathes football. He’s trusted his abilities and instincts to get him this far, but an injury last season nearly ended his career. When his coaches want him to wear biofeedback technology to analyze his game, Marcus thinks the idea is ridiculous. Plus, the mousy scientist behind the project knows nothing about sports, and she quickly gets under his … skin. But with another QB waiting on the sidelines, Marcus can either agree to participate, or be benched—permanently.
Scientist Clare Wynifred values intellect above most things. With her brain constantly working, she has little interest in her appearance and zero interest in sports. She never imagined her wearable tech being used to improve someone’s game, but its success with the team could get her a military contract. Clare may be too late to save her brother, but her technology could save the lives of countless soldiers. She just has to make it work with the stubborn quarterback, and she’ll be one step closer to her goal.
Marcus and Clare butt heads at first, but their mutual attraction quickly grows. And yet, with everything to lose, it’s easy to ignore that together they might be able to go the distance.

I enjoyed listening to the story narrated by Rebecca Roberts. I was gifted this audio and offered my honest review.
Wired (The Soloman Brothers Series, Book One) was a great read by Leslie North. Marcus is a star quarterback who lives football. He was injured last season and it nearly ended his career. His coaches want to try biofeedback technology in order to analyze his game. He doesn’t want to do it especially with Clare who doesn’t know anything about football. I loved reading Marcus and Clare’s story and can’t wait to read more by the author.
This is one of those books that makes you smile. It’s a sweet and sexy feel good book.
Marcus Kingston is a star quarterback, plays for the NFL and his life revolves around football. There are threats of him being sidelined and Claire Wynifred is just getting in his way of keeping his starting position.
Claire Wynifred is a scientist with a PhD, after her brother’s death she is determined to make her wearable technology work for the military. That is her goal, find ways to bring soldiers home safely. Marcus is the start of that, he is her key to success.. if only he would quit fighting her technology and work with her.
When Marcus and Claire first meet it’s obvious that he feels inconvenienced by her and her technology. He doesn’t want to have all the sensors and wires in his uniform. It just gets in his way and distracts him. Once Marcus starts cooperating and working with Claire, you can see the wheels turning and you can see him grow as a player. The sparks are slowing building but Claire is determined to make her technology work so she can avenge her brother’s death in her own way. Give her a slight relieve from all her grief she is still feeling.
I loved watching the transformation Marcus went through throughout the book and his and Claire’s relationship was so sweet and loving I was just smiling all throughout the book. No spoilers here but the part with him and the glasses was just so adorable, I cried. I loved it.
A slow burner- divulging into the life of a Star QB with some past injuries and a disability. The story is emotionally complex, thoroughly engaging and shows opposites can have a mutual attraction.
Rebecca did an amazing job narrating this story.
Marcus is a star quarterback and at the end of last season got injured. Now the team wants him to be wired up to some biotechnology to get feedback on his injury and him. Clare is the one who will be analyzing the information on Marcus. At their first meeting they neither one like the other but as they spend more time together their feelings change. Clare is the first person in Marcus’s life who has put him first and he can’t forget that.
Will Clare and Marcus bet the odds of them being together or will Marcus pick the game over Clare?
Leslie North will never disappoint with her skill as a writer, she always brings a story together in a way that has the reader feeling like they are right there with the characters.
I received an advance copy of this for my voluntarily and honest review.
I love a good opposites attract and this book did not disappoint. I love the way the relationship builds between Claire and Marcus. The characters were well developed and I like that they both have there own things they are dealing with. I also like that they are both strong characters. It was a sweet story and really enjoyable!

This is my first book by Leslie North and my first experience listening to Rebecca Roberts. It won’t be my last for either one. North does an amazing job of crafting an engaging story into this novella. There’s always something fun about the stoic athlete with a heart of gold and the nerdy girl who isn’t as reserved as everyone thinks. There were enough steamy scenes to satisfy those who are looking for it without overtaking the plot. I was also incredibly intrigued by the tech aspect and appreciated the care North took in explaining to the reader/listener. Despite being only 3.5 hours, I felt a connection to Marcus and Clare as individuals, enjoyed their blossoming relationship, and was invested in their HEA.
Rebecca Roberts did an excellent job narrating this book. Roberts gives Clare her sweet and stern moments the perfect inflection and also has enough inherent “gravel” in her voice so that Marcus sounds naturally masculine.

I really enjoyed listening to Wired due to the interesting plot, great characters, and terrific narration. Normally I’m not such a fan of contemporary romance, but something about this book (ok, the hottie on the cover) caught my attention, and I’m glad it did because it made a very boring train trip fly by. Some of the major themes were acceptance, regret, sorrow, loss, friendship, dedication, hard work, hope, and love.
I was given a free copy of Wired, but that did not affect my review.
This is a really great sports romance and unlike most sports romance, this one brings an added emotional element that kinda took me off guard. I can usually distance myself from book characters and stories but for some reason (I can only assume it was great writing and characters) this romance read / listen captured me and even had a tear well up at one point. I loved the blend of strength and vulnerability that both main characters – Marcus and Clare have. I really loved this story line and I’m looking forward to future reads / listens by North!
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

I offered to review this audiobook because I am such an an avid reader but also almost exclusively audio due to my schedule. Because of this, and the fact that a bad narrator can destroy a great series, I can be very critical of narrators. Especially when books have a single narrator required to speak with different voices for multiple characters. Most cannot do it without having some errors where they use the wrong ‘voice’ for the wrong character. Rebecca Roberts does a good job in narrating this book. It was a very enjoyable listen and I didn’t have any issues distinguishing between characters.
As to the story, I am not one to give a lot of specific story details since I feel you should read the story for that. This is book 1 in a romantic sports series, but can also be read as a standalone. It has good character development, great story line, and a happy ending. You won’t be disappointed if you give it a try!

A thought provoking romance with a lot of heart. This can be read as a stand alone if you choose, but I highly recommend reading the other two books as well. This is an excellent series. There is a community spirit in this series that leaves you feeling very positive after you’ve read the books. I received a free review copy of the audio version of this book in exchange for an honest review.
It was hard to relate to the heroine, but she was a strong woman which helped. There was a steamy scene but the story is all heart. Lots of emotions from their separate pasts, each other and their current predicament. The ending was good and left a completed feeling. The narrator was great with her characters voices, but a little drab when reading the other parts.
