I like this author. The Lei Texdera series is awesome, but the Wired series is slow and therefore boring ille an litte action.
Boring due to choppy writing and characters. Do not buy.
The story is good but the main character is so damaged that it’s hard to feel for her
I like everything this author writes.
Love this author, these characters and the tangled web woven!
This book was hard to put down. I’m looking for the next in the series. I love Toby Neal.
A brilliant detective story, from a great author!
Sophie is charged with protecting Holly Rames who has gone into the Witness Protection Program awaiting the trial of Akane Chang. U. S. Marshall Matsue and Sophie take Holly to a safe house, but the safe house is compromised and Holly is killed. Sophie decides to go on her own where she camps in the wilderness. She falls into a deep, deep depression and is in danger of losing her life. She decides she wants to live and manages to contact Conner who rescues her and takes her to his private island in Thailand to recover. Throughout this story Sophie has conflicting feelings about Conner, Alika and Jake—she cares for all three of them. As the trial nears Sophie goes to her father’s apartment building in Oahu where the trial is about to start. The Chang family is trying to do anything they can to disrupt the trial. Byron Chang is killed but Akane’s trial is proceeding. Alika shows up at her father’s unannounced where he wants to give Sophie a ring. A staff member gives a package to Sophie saying it’s from Dr. Wilson. As she, Alika and Ginger head to the elevator, the unthinkable happens—the package is a bomb intended to keep Sophie from testifying. Thanks to Ginger Sophie escapes with broken ribs and lots of cuts and bruises. But Alika is not so lucky. He is alive but has lost his arm in the blast. Sophie is devastated and feels it is her fault and wants to stay as far away from Alika as she can. It is now time for her to testify and Akane is sent to prison for good. There is so much more to this story than these few highlights. I was totally absorbed in this book and am still thinking about it to this day. I love the Wired series and highly recommended it.
Love all Toby Neal books I’ve read.
Did a marathon Toby Neal read from Book #5 Wired Dawn, then 7-10 this month. Will do a review on Book 10 Wired Truth.
I have read (10) the Paradise in Crime series with Sophie Ang – love her character and the settings of Hawaii and Thailand – two favorite places! Great beach or long-easy weekend reads! Can’t wait for more in the series!!!!
Can’t wait for more from Toby Neal.
Computer whiz and FBI agent Sophie Ang has more baggage than a cruise ship, three men who want to be hers and an unruly lab named Ginger to keep her company. Sophie manages to get herself into the line of fire on all fronts!
Love Toby Neal novels
i love this series of books. they are set in Hawaii and many of the places described I am familiar with. each time I read a book, its like a mini vacay. and if I don’t know the place, I look it up and learn about it.
Excellent book by a great story-teller. I would recommend any of Tody’s books.
I have read the series and really enjoyed them. Nice setting on the Hawaiian islands.
Toby Neal is one of the best authors I have read. Suspense, romance, good writing skills, and not predictive. Very entertaining author.
Once again Toby Neal has hit the mark in story telling. Can’t remember a book I didn’t enjoy.
Love all her books
