Sophia was not the norm for a FBI agent. You kept thinking Sophia you shouldn’t be doing that, but she just went on and did it anyway. Enjoyed the book and look forward seeing what else she gets into.
This book was very well written… Toby Neal’s style of writing makes it very easy to visualize the story as it unfolds… the setting, the characters, their stories, the tiny background details…. all of it coming together into an immensely enjoyable read. Easily 5 stars!
Wired In is a book that starts fast and never slows down. There are twists and turns to keep you guessing until the very end. But what makes it special is that the main character, Sophie Ang, is so well developed as an interesting, complex person.
She is beautiful (of course), a mixed martial arts expert (why not), computer programmer/hacker (I nice twist) who uses her skills and expertise as an FBI agent.
But her past is shaped by her, Thai mother who struggles with depression and a marriage to a horrible man who left her emotionally scarred and vulnerable.
She’s driven to succeed to the point that her zeal, at times, causes her to cut corners and ignore orders which can lead to great break-through’s, terrible mistakes and trouble with her superiors.
While we learn a great deal about Sophie through the course of the book, I am looking forward to learning even more in future books.
Very good; my only problem is that all of the mystery was not concluded, which clearly means that I have to read the next book in the series.
I liked the characters and the idea about cyber tracking. Very interesting.
Did not expect to enjoy this book when I first started reading. But, it got to where I couldn’t put it down. So many different things going at once and the character was very well thought out.
Would recommend this book.
I enjoy Neal’s characters, even when they’re not entirely realistic. I read heavy material for work, so something a bit offbeat, easy reading but with a decent puzzle in the plot is just what I want for leisure reading. I also enjoy visiting Hawaii through her eyes.
Love the serial, very entertaining.
Toby Neal is one of the most original authors of police and FBI dramas out there and the setting of Hawaii adds a lush, but gritty layer. Each one is unique
Loved her writing! I plan on reading all of her books.
Great book. Loved the main character. Looking forward to reading more with Sophie Ang.
A decent book which kept me entertained throughout. I would not hesitate to read other stories by this author.
The life and world of Sophie Ang, FBI tech expert and MMA fighter is fast paced and in depth; her struggles with her introverted personality, yet rogue style of investigating clash.
What I did not like was that though this did not end in a cliffhanger, there were unresolved issues in the book that will require reading more in the series to get answers to the situations set forth in this book.
I always enjoy & wait for Toby Neal’s books.
Very unique characters & not the model type people so often written in books.
An easy read into the life of an adventurous detective.
Quick read kinda predictable
Grabbed my attention and kept me into it. I like this writer.
The futuristic ideas in this book were creative and original. It has great characters in a believable plot. I will read other books by this author.
Page turner. Couldn’t put it down.
Good read. Interesting hi tech thriller.
