off the charts steamy..but heart breaking too. Can’t wait to finish the series.
This was a fairly well written book. BUT – The story doesn’t end! You have to buy the next book to find out the ending. I will never continue to read an author that does that with a story. I promise to never read another book from this author.
I’m not a fan of books like this, where the reader is left hanging until the next book. I wanted a resolution.
Grrrrr. I’m not sure if the synopsis said this book ended in a cliffhanger, but it does. I’m just impressed I stuck with this book till the end. The female lead was one of those “don’t do anything for me because I have to prove to everybody that I’m hot sh!t”. And the guy was one of those “I like her but I can’t let anyone in because I’m too much of a pu$$¥ to share my past with anyone.” Both annoying. The writing, overall, wasn’t bad. I just didn’t like the characters or the mystery. I gave it 3 stars because it’s not bad enough to steer anyone away from the book. I just didn’t like it.
Three books that could have been just at best one or two if not for all the sex that did not add to the story. For exceptional business people it never occurred to them to investigate all the happenings including a death of an employee until the main character was abducted.
Fast read, enjoyable characters too.
2 points off for an incomplete book. The book is great. Freaking fantastic but it’s not finished. A book is normal, inciting incident, rising action, climax, resolution. A series is normal, inciting incident, rising action, climax, resolution, new normal established. So one off or series it doesn’t matter complete the freaking plot. This thing just kept rising the stakes. I loved the detail it gives for Claire’s life. I’d completely cut out the contractor parts. The scene between her and her father is poignant but there is not another one to balance it so as good as it is it can go. An editor is not a useless invention. Focus on the main points of the story and don’t water it down with a half-hearted attempt at suspense that doesn’t work. And boom you have a single book that is the proper length.
Great book to read! I truly enjoyed seeing strong female character who runs her own electrical business! Women Power and independence! It was a delightful book to read and i couldn’t put it down – sexy and exciting.
I enjoyed the tension between the main characters, the hint of mystery dangling. A strong female character excelling in a male-dominated profession is highly appealing. There were a couple construction terms used with less finesse which I found distracting that kept me from giving the book five stars. Glazing a window IS replacing the glass. If I know that without construction experience, it seems a bit more research on the author’s part might have been warranted. Readers should beware: this is the first installment in a serial and not a stand alone.
For once, a book with a strong woman.
It was a cliff hanger and that always makes me mad.
Lots of great chemistry. Luke and Clair are fantastic
Wonderful book that had me hooked up to the last page!
I was disappointed because it is not a freestanding book. You have to buy the next book.
Good read, looking forward to reading the rest in this series !
I loved all the books in this series. The only reason I did not give full marks is because of the abundant f-bombs.. I feel that the use of f- bombs is a cop out for writers that are too lazy to use words that should be the standard of great writers. Am currently reading the last book about the chef and happy to say it has improved greatly. Author great at picture building.
