After causing some trouble in his city, Jace’s mother decides to send him to her cousin’s house in Ryder Bay. Already on the first day of school he gets into trouble and his only escape is the conversations with his Snap Dragon.
After her mother’s death, Lettie keeps her nose in a book and her thoughts to herself, but when her best friend dumped her on the first day of their freshman year, she finds comfort in her conversations with Bass.
While Snap Dragon and Bass continue their online conversations, Lettie and Jace meet and realize that they have many things in common. As their attraction begins to grow, they don’t know what to do with these feelings, as they don’t want to give up their virtual relationships.
When a turnaround threatens Lettie’s life, Jace will do his best to find and protect her.
I loved the story and being able to see the characters in this series again. The ending was perfect.
I highly recommend the reading.
Every time I read a Jordan Ford’s book I know it’s going to be great and as expected this book is amazing. In this story you follow again Jace a Lettie from Riptide. Jace is now in Ryder Bay fighting the feelings overwhelming him. Rejection, regret, longing and some fear of what could happen if he gets in trouble again. Lettie starts as a freshman in High School and she finds herself so lonely. Both of them finding joy with each other through their e-mails.
As I said these series have been so heartwarming and lovely and Wipe out doesn’t disappoint. After Face the wave I didn’t think it could get better but as always Jordan did it. Great story, so well written, amazing characters and a compelling storyline makes this book a must read.
Full of teen angst and regret – bittersweet and heart-warming
After reading the novella from Boys of Summer series it was a must read for me. In the prequel I fell in love with very lost Jace and adorable Lettie, and I couldn’t wait to read his full-length story.
And I’m not disappointed at all. This book was what I was looking for and so much more. True page-turner. I couldn’t put it down and when the plot was bringing more and more intriguing events I was simply not able to stop reading.
Loved how characters matured in the course of all the action and how they wanted to be better versions of themselves. How they connected and fought for what was important for them. It’s a shame that it only happened after the serious twist in the story line but as in life those changing moments are very often the catalysts for a change.
Fantastic read, full of different kind of emotions and story that really made my heart swell with positive energy. Loved it!
Absolutely adored this beautifully written book. It is sensitive, poignant, and so fantastically relevant to the current generation of teens. That said, it is a great read for adults too, as Jordan Ford is masterful in her use of language and crafts incredibly addictive stories. Favourite thing about this particular story was how well the characters were naturally and realistically developed.
And here it is! Wipe Out is the fourth book in the Ryder Bay series, and it is the one that ticked all my boxes. It doesn’t matter which series of Jordan Ford’s I am reading, there is always one that shines just that little bit more for me. In this series, it’s this one!! Now, don’t get me wrong. I have thoroughly enjoyed ALL of the other books, but this one though… Sheer perfection!
We first met Jace, also known as Bass, and Lettie (Snap Dragon) in Riptide, which is part of the Boys of Summer series by various authors. We find out that Jace is struggling to cope with life’s changes, and as such, searches out for that elusive adrenaline rush. Lettie is still struggling with her mother’s death, even though she is told that three years is enough time, and she should move on. These two find something in the other that soothes their souls.
In Wipe Out, we learn more about them. We see Jace move to Ryder Bay, and start off by having just as much ‘fun’ as before. We see Lettie struggling with the new school year after being dumped by her best friend. And these two still connect – either in email form, or in person. I adored how both of them were concerned about cheating on their on-line personas.
There is a bit of everything in here – so many emotions, feelings, situations to deal with. I loved the ending with Reed, although I won’t say anything further because, you know, spoilers!
All in all, this is a fantastically written book, with plenty to get your teeth into. There were no editing or grammatical errors that I noticed, and the pacing was oh so very smooth. For me, this is the best of the series so far, but I reserve the right to amend that once I have read White Water, the Ryder Bay Epilogue! Absolutely recommended by me.

Archaeolibrarian – I Dig Good Books!
The awkward bookworm and the bad boy, he’s not really bad just feeling rejected and mixing with the wrong crowd. These two have been emailing anonymously for some time, fate puts them in the same town. I didn’t think these two would become my new fave couple in this series. Well done to the author for grabbing me and not letting me go. I read this book off and on all day…work gets in the way. The last chapters…wow didn’t see that coming, what an exciting finish. I love this series and highly recommend it.
Lettie is fourteen years old, shy, somewhat socially awkward, and sometimes a little bit of a clutz. Jace just sees a beautiful girl, and someone he wants to spend more time with, but there is another girl. He also doesn’t know if he deserves to be with anyone, or to be happy for that matter, with his past weighing heavily on his conscience.
I loved these sweet, and sometimes conflicted characters. Lettie is still devastated by the loss of her mother, and Jace has his mom’s threat of military school hanging over his head. Beautifully written YA romance with a little suspense, and some fascinating, unpredictable, twists in the plot. I would recommend this book and the Ryder Bay series to anyone who enjoys YA reads. Fantastic book, I loved it!
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.
When we last read about Jace, some pretty heavy stuff went down and a friend got injured badly. With his parents sending him to live with his aunt, he knows that he has to put the past behind him in order to have a future. Kettle hides behind her books and her online friends. But what Jace doesn’t know is that she’s been there for him when he was at his worst. This book was amazing I hope we get more of Lettie and Jace in the future.
Wipe Out (Ryder Bay #4) is a tale that
began with a sneak peek novella Riptide that will whet your appetite.
A ya contemporary romance with character’s that are compelling with engaging characteristics. I love the secrecy of Snapdragon, the bookworm and Bass a thrill seeker. Jace and Lettie are my favourite couple in this series. I love that this relationship and romance takes a nonpareil approach of falling in love. I love the cameo appearances of the other characters from the previous books. The ending signifys a perfect summer read.
Looking forward to reading the White Water, a novella wrapping up the whole series.
Lettie and Jace are my favorite couple of the Ryder Bay series! Their story was unique, and I loved the special moments between them, both in person and as email buddies. I enjoyed every minute of Wipe Out and loved that Jordan Ford added a shocking twist that I didn’t see coming. Wipe Out was an amazing story!
