Absolutely loved this book! Highly recommend for anyone who likes romance and mystery. My heart was definitely in this book!
Wonderful
Reading this book inspired me to read all of the six books in this series
I bought Winter’s Secret because I had read an anthology of short romance stories by Lyn Cote. I had liked those short cute clean romances. While this is a mystery I expected much of the same type of writing. There were too many nasty characters in this book. There were several events perpetrated by the criminal to throw off the Sheriff (and the reader) which I understand. However, there was one near the end that made absolutely no sense and meant nothing and as far as I could see did not happen. Unfortunately half way through the book they started praying and giving sermons. Sorry, unless you are an ordained minister/priest I don’t want to hear what you think. It is a private matter. So I skipped a lot of the second half of the book. I will not be reading any more from this author.
The story line of this book is good but I feel that it is just drug out to long. The story didn’t keep me engage which made it hard for me to keep reading.
Good suspense and intrigue!
Rodd Durand is the new sheriff in town. He is trying to solve a string of break-ins at the rural homes of elderly residents. There have been no clues left at the scenes of the crime and since the residents were not home at the time, there are no witnesses. Wendy Carey is the county home health nurse. She is concerned about the impact of the break-ins on many of her patients who have been victims of the crime. When Sheriff Durand approaches her about a possible link between her patients and the timing of the break-ins, she is hurt that he would think she could be involved just because of her family’s history in the community.
It ends with a tiny cliffhanger – just enough to make you want to read the next book in the series but not take away from the enjoyable ending of this one. This is a well-written mystery with plenty of intrigue and suspense plus some clean romance to add to reading enjoyment.
Good story line with realistic small town characters. Good summer read.
I enjoyed reading this mystery/Christian book.
Great series
A somewhat predictable outcome but not a dead-giveaway as to who-dun-it. A decent read!
It was a little slow moving. A little too “Christian oriented” for my liking. The characters were believable but a little “wishy-washy”. I don’t think I will be reading any of the authors’ other books. I like a little more action, steam, and story.
Loved it!
Winter’s Secret by Lyn Cote wraps you up tight as Wendy and Sheriff Rodd try to solve the mysteries of all the burglaries of elders’ homes when they are hospitalized. The suspense grows but is not resolved until the very satisfying, surprising ending.
Very good reading
I loved the fact that one of the main characters overcame a bad childhood. And love the relationship with her grandfather.
This story was interesting, keeping me wondering who the criminal was. Well done.
Easy read, and good story concept. Characters seemed pretty realistic. I didn’t need to force myself to read it, but it didn’t really compel me to return to it when I set it down, either.
It was a page turner and easy reading. God is everywhere. I loved it!
Great read. Enjoyable.
written well
