FBI Agent Winter Black has always thought that her little brother is dead. He was kidnapped by a serial killer who killed her parents and left her for dead over thirteen years ago and Winter believed he was later killed. When clues surface that her brother may actually be alive, Winter returns to work from a personal leave. However, there are other cases to solve as well and when a body is found in a 55 gallon container, the case hits closer to home than they expected.
I’m really enjoying this series and this book is no exception. It’s well-written with well-rounded characters. Full of action and intrigue, this book kept me on the edge of my seat. I’m eager to read the next book. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order.
Fourth book in the Winter Black series, captures your interest and holds it all the way. Ended with cliff hanger hope will continue with 5th book.
Read this series you will not be disapointed.
I highly recommend reading all of Winters story’s. One of the best series I’ve read. Strong storyline and amazingly strong characters with some paranormal thrown in the mix as well. Superbly written!!
This book was very hard to put down. I would tell myself one more chapter, then one more. I really look forward to the next book to see what happens or has happened with Winter’s brother.
Mary Stone’s 4th book in the Winter Series, is another hit. I really expected this book to center more around Winter’s brother, and although it does concern him to some extent. This book was more to bring in some newer characters, and give us more of a background on some of the other main characters in the book so we have a better understanding of them. I am looking forward to the next book in the series, it can’t be released soon enough. I would definitely recommend this book to others.
Once again, Mary Stone leads us on an adventure as FBI Agent Winter Black follows a tangled web of clues. The ongoing search for her missing brother forces her to face the question, “What might he be like?” So much has happened. Will she even know him if he is found? Does she really WANT to know?
Into the mix of characters a new agent arrives, Autumn. Yet another person to figure out and interact with. Will this be Help or Hindrance?
The plot is complex enough that I had to go back and re-read portions to find the clue I had missed. You might want to pay attention or take notes as the mysteries unfold.
Overall, Winter’s Rise is a truly thrilling read. Just pay attention to who is saying (or doing) things on any given page and enjoy another wonderful story.
Once again Mary Stone has written a story to catch my attention. Her characters feel so real that I want to set and talk to them. I really like the characters in this series. The suspense and action keep me interested from the beginning to the very end. I loved the ending as I like cliff hangers.
I am once again waiting impatiently for the next book in this series.
I would like to thank Ms. Stone for the opportunity to read an early copy of this book in return for an honest review. I have purchased this book also.
Winter’s Rise (Winter Black Series Book 4) by Mary Stone is a wonderful story to read. This is book number four in this wonderful series and I highly recommend this story to everyone.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Winter’s Rise is the fourth book in the Winter Black Series by Mary Stone. After reading the prequel, Winter’s Origin, I knew I had to read this series and I haven’t been dissapointed.
Ms. Stone definitely knows how to write a fast-paced, page turning thriller. Her world and character building is superb and draws you right into the story.
Winter Black survived an attack that destroyed her family, leaving her in a coma when she was thirteen. Since then, details stand out that others miss, areas of danger glow red, and debilitating headaches bring visions.
With the sick Douglas Kilroy behind her, Winter has transferred from the BAU back to Violent Crimes Task Force and wants to focus on finding her brother who vanished after The Preacher’s attack on her family. But it looks that is on hold again. Two 55-gal drums have been found. Both contained a body covered in lyme, both with surgical cuts similar to an autopsy plus signs of brain surgery before death. Is this a new serial killer on the rampage?
While this book can be read as a stand-alone, I suggest reading the prequel “Winter’s Origin” to gain some valuable insight into Winter’s story along with Winter’s Curse, Winter’s Mourn and Winter’s Redemption for the full experience. You won’t be dissapointed.
There are some new characters introduced and a mysterious email to Winter, could it be her brother or someone playing mind games with her.
I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this review.
Mary Stone is an excellent writer and knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat. A new case comes up that may lead Winter to Justin but instead leads her to her old psychiatrist and a serial killer.
Winter thinks she has a new lead on her brother. Could this finally be true? Is it Justin? But there is a serial killer on the rampage, and Winter and the gang need to concentrate on finding this terrible person, especially when he goes after one of their own. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
mary stone is a wonderful author and the Winter Black character is mesmerizing. looking forward to Mary’s next book for the next chapter in Winter’s and Autumn’s life.
Absolutely love the Winter Black series!! I was happy that she brought in the character, Autumn, as a friend to Winter. The author, Mary Stone, is relatively new to scene but knows how to keep you interested!! I’m waiting for the next book.
The plots are getting more complicated and so interesting. I’m looking forward to number 5.
Mary Stone has done it again!! What a great sequel to Winter’s Redemption! What a fantastic 4th book in this amazing series. You will enjoy every single one of them. In Winter’s Rise the characters from the previous books continue to grow with new information revealed about their lives and great developments in personalities. There’s the introduction of a new character, Autumn, and I hope she will become a frequent addition to the original cast. Her character is amazing and she and Winter seem to hit it off. Do they have something in common? AND…. Are we getting closer to finding Justin? What’s he going to be like when they do find him?
Keep on doing what you do best Mary Stone!! Your writing is so enjoyable. Five stars!
Mary keeps writing winners. The 4th book of the series was just as great as the rest. She introduced a new character, Autumn, who I love. Hope to see Autumn in future books. She also went into some background of the existing characters which helped to know them better. Lots of twists and turns. I just have a small concern. Thought the ending was a little rushed but it did not discourage my 5 stars. Can’t wait for the next and future books in the series.
Winter Rise is the fourth Book in Winter Series. If you expect answer in this book then your in for a Big Surprise! This book will bring in new Characters and answers to what some Character are hiding and some of the conflicting feelings for different characters. This Book is Not what I expected it’s Unbelievably Better there are so many Twist and Turn in this book.
Winter is Back Stronger, Determine to move forward with her Life! However, her feelings for Both Aiden and Dalton is so Complicated!
Its A Must Read Book Mary Stone is an Amazing Author!!!
