The serial killer known as The Preacher has come out of retirement. He’s the man who killed Winter Black’s parents, left her for dead, and took her little brother. She’s now an FBI agent and plans to stop the man and determine what happened to her brother no matter what.
I have really been enjoying this series and this book is a prime example of why. It’s well-written with characters who are well-done whether you like them or not. Full of action and intrigue, this book grabbed my attention from the start and kept me hooked throughout. I am very eager to read the next book. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order.
Another great book. Winter’s relentless pursuit of The Preacher continues to haunt her. She continues to chase him every chance she gets, always one step behind.
I loved it
This is the 3rd book in the Winter Black Series. The serial killer that killed Winter’s parents, is back after all these years to finally kill Winter. He has been obsessed with her for years. This book did bring some closure, but doesnt answer the question of what happened to Winter’s little brother all those years ago. I am looking forward to the next book to see what will happen next with Winter.
This book kept me interested from the beginning to end. Kept wanting to know what was going to happen to Winter and ‘rooting’ for her to find the Preacher.
Will the Huntress become the hunted?
Follow FBI Agent Winter Black as she continues her relentless pursuit of the violent killer known only as, “The Preacher”.
Despite having been officially removed from the case Winter is using her skill, wiles, and intuition to seek out the identity of the killer. But, in a new plot twist, we find that The Preacher is also relentless in his search, for HER!
Off-the-record clues, unofficial accounts, and no small amount of risk taking lead Winter to finally uncover The Preacher’s identity. But locating and apprehending the villain requires the help of her circle of friends and allies. The killer’s rampage is ended. But, will that end the saga? Only the final chapter will tell!
Once More! Enter into the adventure Dear Readers. Once more!!
Book 3 in the Winter Black FBI series.
The preacher is back and killing again. Can the team find him in time???
Another great installment to the story.
Now for book 4 to be released….
This book, along with the rest of this series, is great!!
This is the third book in the Winter Black Series by Mary Stone. After reading the prequel, Winter’s Origin, I knew I had to read this series and I haven’t been dissapointed. Ms. Stone definitely knows how to write a fast-paced, page turning thriller. Her world and character building is superb and draws you right into the story.
Winter Black survived an attack by The Preacher that destroyed her family, leaving her in a coma when she was thirteen. Since then, details stand out that others miss, areas of danger glow red, and debilitating headaches bring visions.
The Preacher has been following Winter’s career and has decided it’s time to come out of retirement, but his victim profile has changed – now they all look like Winter. As the FBI moves to stop The Preacher, Winter is forbidden to work the case, she’s just too personslly involved. Being off the case though doesn’t stop the visions. The episodes are closer together and getting stronger. Each one takes a toll on her health and her body — they just might kill her, yet. But if they help stop The Preacher she doesn’t care about the cost to herself.
While this book can be read as a stand-alone, I suggest reading the prequel “Winter’s Origin” to gain some valuable insight into Winter’s story along with Winter’s Curse and Winter’s Mourn for the full experience. You won’t be dissapointed.
While there are some closures in this installment, there are plenty of questions left for at least one more installment to Winter’s story.
I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this review.
This is a great series! I started reading the books, maybe in the fall, and have read all the books in this series! The author knows how to draw you into the storyline and you will have a hard time not reading just to know what happens next!
If you’ve been reading the entire series, you know that Winter’s family was killed by the Preacher and her brother was taken. In this episode you get to know the Preacher up close and personal. The intrigue increases the closer Winter comes to locating the Preacher. Although there are a few closures in this book, it leaves plenty to the imagination for future books. This book begins a little slower but rapidly increases it’s pace as the intrigue is accentuated. The author has done an excellent job of introducing characters and improving their characteristics in each book. The interactions between the different characters is continually evolving. Overall, it is another excellent book in the series.
Mary Stone creates wonderful characters. her books make you want to keep turning the pages to see what happens next. I can’t wait to finish to see how it ends. Looking forward to her next book so I can continue reading about Winter’s career with the FBI and her relationships.
