Some ghosts still live and breathe…Six months ago, on the night Winter Black and her fellow agents took down The Preacher, a mall massacre occurred.Today, one of the gunmen responsible for taking fifteen innocent lives that night is killed—with a well-placed bullet fired from nearly a mile away. Clearly a professional, either military or law enforcement, the sniper leaves zero evidence, other … leaves zero evidence, other than a note.
When more suspected rapists and murderers turn up dead, the killer’s pattern becomes clear: they’re acting as judge, jury, and executioner for a series of cases that were brushed off by the cops. How could a person not cheer a little? Until the spotlight is shone on one of the FBI’s own.
Ultimately, it’s a matter of right or wrong. Winter knows just where the line is—she learned the night her parents were slaughtered and her baby brother disappeared. After all, that night made her who she is, and she’ll uphold the law, even for the scumbags who deserve to die. Even while the ghosts of her past grow closer and closer.
Book five of Mary Stone’s breakthrough Winter Black series, Winter’s Ghost is an ingeniously conceived psychological thriller that will keep readers enthralled while making sure their door is locked—and pick proof.

Some ghosts don’t just haunt…they hunt.
A prisoner responsible for a mall massacre that occurred the night The Preacher was taken down is executed, with a well-placed bullet fired from nearly a mile away. The sniper is clearly a professional—either military or law enforcement—and leaves zero evidence, other than a note.

MY REVIEW
Winter’s Ghost is
Book five in Mary Stone’s Winter Black series. I have been hooked since i read the first book in this series. While this book was not as good as the others it was still good. This series is incredible and i can’t wait to read the next one ! They all are fast paced, clever and kept my attention with their gripping plots. Mary Stone has kept me on the edge of my seat turning the pages with every book.I enjoyed the suspense and development of the characters. Winter , Aiden , and Noah all seem like family now. I can’t wait to jump into book 6 Winter Secret later today. If you would like to read these wonderful books you can read them for free on kindle unlimited.

When a prisoner who is partially responsible for a small massacre is gunned down by a sniper rifle from about a mile away, the FBI is brought in n on the case. As more men are killed, it comes out that all of them are predators in some way and that the killer is a vigilante. This leads to some ambivalence with regards to catching him although Winter knows that it’s a matter of right and wrong even when the victims deserve to die.
I have really enjoyed this series and this book was a good read. However, it was slow in places and had some continuity issues. I was also disappointed that Winter is still battling emotions in parts of her life. It goes between her being a strong woman to someone who doubts herself at every turn. I am still looking forward to the next book and the rest of the series. I do recommend this book and highly recommend the series which I suggest you read in order.
Read the complete series and enjoyed ever book. Recommend for anyone who likes mysteries and serial killer thrillers.
I loved it
I loved this book, and the characters. It almost seems like I’m right there with them. I care about the people and some not so much. There are twists and turns and lots of surprises. There was an ending that makes me not like to wait for the next book.
I would like to thank the author for an early copy in exchange for an honest review and this review is my opinion.
As much as Winter despises those that do very bad things to people, she has to go after a vigilante killer who is out to right the wrongs that the justice system is not doing. This story will have you wondering just what else could happen, a question you never want to ask. As the crew goes after the killer. The interactions are developing deeper between the characters which make it a pleasure to read the story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Another winner from Mary Stone! Have read all the Winter books & they just keep getting better & better. Definitely a must read. Can’t wait for the next book!
Winter’s Ghost, the 5th book in Mary Stone’s “Winter Black” series does not disappoint!! This is the series that has me waiting with anticipation for each new book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book and recommend this series to everyone!!
Winter’s Ghost is the fifth book in the Winter Black Series by Mary Stone. Ms. Stone definitely knows how to write a fast-paced, page turning thriller. Her world and character building are superb and will draw you right into the story — you’ll feel like you’re in the middle of all the action.
I really enjoy watching the characters evolve, especially the ups and downs between Winter and Noah. Autumn is back and it’s great that Winter finally has a real friend that seems to understand and accept her.
Winter’s Ghost has the Team looking for the person who killed Tyler Haldane when he was being transported from prison. Soon it is apparent that someone is killing pieces of s#$t, i.e., abusers, rapists, killers, people who attack innocents and the legal system can’t or won’t do anything about. The public is cheering on the vigilante, thanking him/her for taking care of the problem. Even within law enforcement and the FBI there are those that wonder why so much time and effort is being spent hunting this vigilante. Winter is still using any spare moment trying to track down who sent her that email professing to be her brother.
As usual there’s lots of twists, turns, side plots goings on in this installment of Winter Black. I can’t recomnend this series enough. I received an advance copy of this book from the author and this is my Five-Star voluntary review.
Winter Ghost
In this book we met new characters some good some evil. The Winter Series has so many Twist and Turn there is never a dull moment reading each book in the Winter’s Series.!! I personally Love Mary Stone Writing she knows how to write the next book better and have you Craving For More. Winter, Aiden Autumn and Noah have matured tremendously in this book. We are kept with a lot of unanswered questions in this book.. However, it would not be a series if they were all answered! I would recommend The Winter Ghost by Mary Stone
Winter’s Ghost (Winter Black Series Book 5) by Mary Stone is an awesome story that I have loved reading very much. This is book number five in this awesome series that I have loved reading from the very begining and I highly recommend this story to all.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Another Winter Black story that had lots of twists and turns and I could not stop reading. Awesome read. With Mary’s writing I feel like I am right there with the characters. Can’t wait until the next book in the series. Thank you Mary Stone for all the great books.
Excellent book. Has some great twist and turns and keeps you wanting more.
How would you feel (and react) when a mass murderer is killed while in police custody? Would you feel that the victims got justice or would you feel like someone saved the government a lot of money? ALMOST sounds like the nightly news now doesn’t it? As a Police Officer, how would you feel and how would you act? How does this affect Winter, Noah and the rest of the FBI? Read “WINTER’S GHOST” to see how Winter, Noah and the rest of the FBI team feel and react to this latest challenge of twists and unexpected turns of law and order. You just might find more questions than you find answers.
author mary stone never fails to deliver. wonderful characters. you can feel Winter’s tension somewhat ebbing in this book and allows you to more fully see the person she is becoming. great read as are all the other Winter books.
This book did not disappoint me. Mary Stone kept reading till the end. This is a must read book if you have read the other book now waiting for next book
