Winter’s Arrow is an incredibly delicious retelling of Snow White set in the Omegaverse and I was hooked on its ever word! Snow was the princess of Winter Sector, the rightful heir, and the last member of her family’s line. When her parents died, she was left in the care of a female Alpha, one who took care of her despite her Beta shortcomings. However, not everything was all smiles and rainbows in the kingdom. Something was wrong. Snow overheard a murder plot. Her caregiver wanted to kill her. She had only her loyal seven (like the dwarves but these guys were sexy wolf shifters) to help her. After a night of welcoming guests to her impending nuptials, alongside the Alpha who seemed to long to claim her, Snow had had enough. She subtly challenged Alpha Kazek of Norse Sector, second in command, which only cemented his hunger for her. And then he finds her stowed away on his plane…
I’m new to this omegaverse genre, but if this book is anything to go by, I’m all for it. Once I had it firmly in mind that this was a story of an Omega, a natural submissive, and her extremely Alpha protector, I was all over it. Sign me up for all the knots and slicks and smells and yum. While Snow wasn’t completely submissive, with her snark and her regal attitude, Kazek definitely knew how to ‘put her in her place’ and I enjoyed every minute of their connection. Her coming to terms with her new omega status, him coming to terms with what it meant to be Snow’s alpha, plots for revenge, tons of hot sex, and everything in between, Winter’s Arrow was one hell of an entertaining read!
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
OMG!! Snow White as you have never seen her before and I like it. Snow has been raised believing she is a Beta wolf unfit to rule as Queen of the Winter Sector. Her evil step mother convinced her of that but to avoid her death Snow flees to another sector which could have been a huge issue. Thankfully she fell into the right hands as she emerged as an Omega. Mating and taking back her thrown covers it from there. Lots of dramatic twists mixed with lots of steam and action making for a captivating read that is my favorite of this entire multi author series. I totally loved this one so I give it 5/5 stars.
This is one of the stories in the Sinister Fairytales and wow what a story. This was definitely a unique story that I believe couldn’t have been told any better in a Omegaverse universe post apocalyptic and wolf shapeshifters and it wouldn’t be a true Snow White story w/o her 7 trusted dwarves aka wolves.
Winter (Snow) is the Winter Sector Princess has been told all her life by her stepmother the Queen of Mirrors that she was a Beta and weak that she could never rule as she made her take these pills to make her stronger, but Snow had overheard something about her life and with the help of her trusted seven is now on the run from the one’s who are to harm her they stow her away on a plane headed to the Norse Sector to get help from Alpha Ludvig, but first she has to get pass Alpha Kazek who finds her and can’t figure out why he feels this pull towards her, because only Omega’s have that scent to attract Alpha’s and she’s suppose to be a Beta or is she? This is just the beginning to a rather bumpy ride for these 2 who have to overcome their differences and work together.
This story pulled me into their world I couldn’t get enough. I love reading paranormal but this had so much more. I’m so glad I did get the chance, because I absolutely loved it. I’m finding more new Arthur’s, since I’ve been reading the Sinister Fairytale stories and their take on an old classic tales.
Rating:
Sizzling Snow White and the Huntsman post zombie apocalypse!
This was a very strange and somewhat wonderful post apocalyptic world. It is Earth broken up into sectors, there were some American cities mentioned that I recognized so it is in the not to distant future, but much of the human race has been decimated by the zombie virus, though some communities of humans do still survive.
However this Sinister Fairy Tale centers around wolf shifters, who are immune to the virus. Though Zombies still can feed on shifters, they can’t spread the virus to them. So the shifters clear out the Zombie nests wherever they are found. This tale begins in the Winter Sector where the engagement of beta Princess Snow to Alpha Enrique is being announced by Queen Vanessa, who took over as queen of the Winter Sector and has been mentor to the princess since her parents passed away.
The Sector Alpha from the Norse Sector, sends his second in command, Alpha Kazek to attend the festivities and to see if he can determine what is going on since nobody really trusts Queen Vanessa and it seems strange that she would want Princess Snow to marry another Alpha. Then they would become King and Queen since the princess is the rightful heir to the throne. Being a beta, the princess could never have the throne on her own without marriage.
The day before the wedding, Snow overhears Vanessa and Enrique Plotting to kill her, so she and her seven guardians find a way for her to escape by stowing away on one of the ships. She hides on Alpha Kazek’s ship and he finds her after he lands. Though it seems that Vanessa has been more duplicitous than anyone could have imagined.
This book is super steamy and the romance is over the top hot. Though it takes the Alpha, Beta, Omega thing a bit too far in my opinion. I know that they are wolf shifters and supposedly that domination, submission and all that, especially sexually is supposed part of the nature of the beast. However, aren’t shifters also part human with working brains also, and this is supposed to be in the future not in the past.
**Pet Peeve Alert** So the whole punishment or humiliation of someone for speaking your mind just because you stand up to someone more “Alpha” than you. When they can’t get the same kind of punishment for doing the same things to you is ridiculous to me. I just hate that kind of thing. It is one thing if it is just fun in the bedroom between two people but if it is in public and the punishment is in front of everyone, I don’t like it. It isn’t democratic or fair and that shouldn’t be how any society is based in an intelligent world.
Other than that, this book was terrific, so I am only going to take one point away for that which also includes the time when Kazek rubbed his seed all over Snow, now known as Winter, and they walked all around his sector naked so that everyone could know at she was his. Oh yes. That happened!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I have to admit that I liked this book the most from out of the 3 within the series so far. Andorra Sector hade me crying for most of the book, Experiment was just very sweet, but Winter’s Arrow, really had a lot of intrigue and substance. Lots of D/s between Kazek and Winter, but that is the nature of this world. Alpha’s are on top, Beta’s in the middle, and Omega’s on the bottom. While Omega’s are supposedly cherished by most of the Alpha’s, due to the fact they are supposedly the only type that can mate and procreate with Alpha’s, there are of course, exceptions to the rule. Not all Alpha’s cherish their Omega’s.
In this book we watch how as a Beta, and royalty, Winter is educated as a Beta, which is subservient only to Alpha’s, but is in fact an Omega, who is supposedly subservient to everyone.
Fun Times when the Beta comes to play when everyone expects an Omega.
Lots of very steamy sex within this book and series. Not for the faint of heart, but written very well.
Will be reading the next in the series, as the thread connecting these books continues within.
While I am reading this series via Kindle Unlimited, I still think it worth your time & $$.
Loved loved loved!!! A very sexy, shifter retelling of Snow White. But this Snow has backbone and isn’t happy that her Prince, in this case the Huntsman, is saving her. The back and forth, misunderstandings and constant battle for dominance is sexy, alluring and emotional. Can’t wait for more!
A wolf shifter tale inspired by Snow White, but with a dark and super sexy twist, this book is definitely not your mother’s fairy tale. After Snow overhears her fiance and step mother plotting her death, she decides to flee with the aid of her protective seven, who send her to the Norse sector seeking refuge, stowing away on the plane of a visiting alpha, Kazek. Kazek, and turned, not born, Alpha with no interest in ruling any territories, is intrigued by Snow and her strong willed attitude, and when he discovers she has stowed away on his plane, decides to teach her a lesson as alpha. But that “lesson” quickly changes the course of both their lives and fates, and years of secrets and lies are uncovered that spur Snow to want to return and take back Winter sector as the rightful ruler. The back and forth, constant battle and passion they have both pulls them apart and throws them together, very powerful and difficult to resist. As Snow comes to terms with what she must do, and Kazek comes to terms with his feelings and what he must do, they fight together to defeat Vanessa and take back Snow’s kingdom. It’s brutal and sexy, and the narration is absolutely spot on – Kale Williams and Sarah Puckett never seem to disappoint in their expert character delivery.
As a HUGE fan of Foss’s X-Clan series I was a little worried about how her Sinister Fairy Tales story would mesh with the overall series. I’m happy to report that it was a seamless and perfect addition! I am officially in love with Winter and Kazek! Foss’ portrayal of the classic story of Snow White was fantastic. You’ve never seen Snow White like this, I can promise you that! Post Apocalypse, Zombies and Shifters mesh perfectly with the classic story of power struggles and betrayal. I found Winter’s Arrow to be incredibly inventive, thrilling, and as you could expect from an X-Clan book, Hot AF! Not only is this a fabulous addition to the series but it also sets up book four in the X-Clan series, Bariloche Sector, beautifully.
A lovely version of Snow White.
This was the first time I read a book by Lexi C Foss, and, well, I am soooo glad I took a chance. She is one of the authors in the Sinister Fairy Tales Collection, and Winter’s Arrow: A Dark Snow White Retelling (X-Clan Book 3) is the second book that I have had the pleasure of reading in the whole set, thanks in part to K.L. Donn.
Winter’s Arrow is the retelling of a classic fairy tale, set in the world of shifters and what is known as the Omegaverse, an alternate universe is the book world most often containing dark and/or disturbing themes. I have come across other Omegaverse themed stories, and I must say that Lexi C. Foss’ X-Clan series is by far the one I find enjoyable enough to read in one sitting. Yep, I started after dinner, and reached the end by the unholy hour of 2 a.m. the next day!
This is not a sweet fairy tale, mind you. It. Is. Better!
Winter’ Arrow is the part of the Sinister Fairytales Collection and is a dark retelling of Snow White. This retelling is set in a post apocalyptic world with wolf shifters and zombies. This book is HOT! Betrayal, lies, double crossing and murder are just a few things that Snow (now Winter) encountered. Kazek and Winter, together, make the ultimate team. This is my first time reading anything like and I really enjoyed it.
“Dark, twisted and strange. Winter’s Arrow was my first book of Lexi C. Cross and definitely won’t be the last. Post-apocalyptic world and shapeshifters was so amazing!! Zombies and I aren’t really close but Kazek and Winter’s story hooked me since they met… for the second time. The constant push and pull, the fighting and the extremely hot connection. Kazeh is all way alpha male! He was so hot and intense. Another great addiction to the Sinister Fair Collection! Brilliant read!”
Cannot say enough about this one!! Snow White has always been my favorite fairytale so I could hardly wait to get my hands on this book! Not only did I enjoy an amazingly sinister fairytale retelling but I also was lucky to discover a new to me author! I’ll definitely be checking out more of her work.
So I’ve just recently within the past year fallen into this sub-genre in the romance world and I am really loving it. This book is truly outstanding, I devoured it up so quick. Its amazingly well written and the world this author has created is beyond intriguing. And this is my very first read by this author and I know now that I’ll be stalking her and her books on the regular now.
Kazek and Snow/Winter eminate something so strong together that has you gasping for breath. Kazek is an all consuming Alpha and I would submit to him any day. He just takes my breathe with his presence in this book. Snow had been dealt a crappy hand with the life she’s been forced into, made to feel weak and be weak. Her plans take a turn, Kazek comes along and she’s shown that maybe there’s more to it than she’s been made to believe.
A must read that’ll just have you immersed and wanting more! I’m so excited for Sven and Kari’s book!
WOW!!! This book was full of pulse-pounding action and it’s incredibly sexy! Winter’s Arrow is a part of the Sinister Fairy Tale Collection, it’s a dark retelling of Snow White that you will never forget! It’s also a part of Foss’s X-Clan series, I haven’t read those book but now I’m dying too! I loved so much about this book. It’s a shifter romance with a very Dystopian setting, about Werewolfs and their Pack life. Alphas and Betas and Omegas, oh my! I was immersed in this world from the very beginning and never wanted to come out! Snow/Winter is such a wonderful character and you get all fired up for her! I loved Kaz, he was absolutely drool-worthy! Heads up this book is hot and when I mean HOTTT I mean Scorching Baby!!!! Winter’s Arrow has Knotting!!! So buckle up buttercup, because by the end of this book you’re gonna wish THAT was a real thing! Whew!!! Lots of pausing for cold showers! This is a story about revenge and love, about a young woman finding herself after being abused for years and getting her justice. Foss is a fantastic author, she always leaves you wanting more! I can’t wait to see what she has for us next. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I have to admit that Winter’s Arrow blew me away. I have tried to keep away from anything that has to do with blurbs and this collection when it comes to knowing beforehand how these books are going to be. So when I jumped into Winter’s Arrow it was without any knowledge. I have to say I was so happy with my decision.
I have not read anything of Lexi when it comes to her X-Clan Series ( I will be rectifying that right now!) but that did not stop me from fully enjoying this story. I caught right on and had no problems understanding what was going on in the clans.
Kazek and Winter are the best characters. They are strong, attractive, twisted, and the chemistry is off the charts. The trust is nonextant between these two, which makes the story so much more worthy of your read. You want to know why these two will fall in love, what will keep them together.
Winter’s Arrow is a great addition to the collection.
Winter’s Arrow was an fiery, intense and unique spin on Snow White that kept my attention hooked until the very end. I enjoyed watching the intense attraction build between Kazek and Snow as well as the intriguing moments they went toe-to-toe. These two constantly kept me on the edge of my seat eagerly waiting to see what would happen next and how their story would continue to unfold. Shifter romances are not typically a genre I read but I must admit Kazek’s growly alpha personality as well as Snow’s tenacious spitfire one have me curious on what I’ve missed out on by not diving in sooner. Over all, Winter’s Arrow was a fantastic and riveting fairy tale retelling that I didn’t want to end.
This was a retelling for Snow White and seven dwarves mixed with the huntsman. This takes place in the authors book universe so I’m not familiar with terms they are constantly using. This one missed the mark for me I didn’t really enjoy it. Along with the terms used I just didn’t like the world and how brutal the alpha was. A lot of the sex was boarder line rape, she didn’t really have a choice and he sure as heck didn’t give her one. It was well written just not my taste. Four stars

Definitely addictive!!! I got completely and utterly lost in this book and the characters. I love the whole series of stories loosely based on fairy tales however the sinister side of things make them impossible to put down. This story is lightly based on Snow White but hot damn this heroine is fierce and I loved her. Winter and Kazek old your attention from the very start when he saves her life. However together they are quite the pair, they are relentless and insanely strong. I wanted Winter to have her revenge and her HEA!!! It was an explosive story! A must read!!!!
Winter’s Arrow, the latest addition to the Sinister Fairytale collection, is a dark retelling of Snow White from a shifter slant and I was hooked from beginning to end. This tale was a paranormal/dystopian/omegaverse story and it was fast paced and action-packed filled with drama, secrets, lies, mystery, suspense betrayal and so much more. The relationship between Winter and Kazek was hott and intense but they both had some serious communication issues to work out, and the author did a great job with character development and showing the changes and growth in these two. The world building was excellent and the cast of secondary characters peaked my interest and overall the story was a fantastic read. I enjoyed this novel and would recommend it to all lovers of dark fairytale retelling.
Out of all the Sinister Fairy Tale books so far I have to say this one is in my top 3.
This is the first book by Lexi C. Foss that I have read but will not be the last because I want to read more about the rest of the clan. Being the first book that I have read I will say that you don’t miss anything by not reading the others. The way Lexi C. Foss retold Snow White as shifters had me hooked until the end.
Snow Frost is told in a way that makes you really feel for her. She is under the rule of The Queen of Mirrors. Snow is the true heir to the Winter Sector but knows if she doesn’t get out she will not survive. Knowing this she runs. However, Snow is not weak and eventually know how strong she really can be. Snow is reborn as Winter after being saved. Will her true colors come out after being saved or will The Queen of Mirrors still rule the Winter Sector?
Kazek Flor is an Alpha, and second-in-command in the Norse Sector. He is not what he seems because he is not a true shifter but a created one. This however, doesn’t prevent him from being a true bada**. Kaz is set in his ways and doesn’t want a mate, however will this change when he meets and saves Snow? Kaz is a true Alpha in all forms!!
This retelling really held my attention and had me wanting to know more. The twists in the story made this book beyond amazing. I can’t wait to read the next book about the clan.
