I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
True love is a myth. A trick. A way to subdue the heroine and take everything form her. I should know. My “true love” conspired with my stepmother to have me killed and stole my throne. But they failed. I’ve been in hiding and refining my vengeance. I’m no longer the damsel they mistook me for once upon a time. I’m coming for them. And my kingdom too. Who needs dwarves when they have wolves? Who needs blades when you have arrows? My name used to be Snow. Now they call me Winter. And I will destroy them all.
If you like retelling’s of fairy tales then you are going to love Winter’s Arrow. This is not just a retelling but a book set in the Omegaverse. I will be the first to tell you that I am not a huge paranormal reader. I don’t like stories about wolves and dragons and such but I gave this one a chance and it was really good. Snow was one the princess of the Winter Sector, the heir apparent, and the last member of her family. When her parents die she is left in the care a a female Alpha. I know, I know, it is strange to even write female alpha, but it works well in this story. However it doesn’t take Winter long to realize that she wants to kill her and she only has her seven wolf protectors instead of dwarfs to keep her save. I don’t want to give the entire story away. I really liked it and thought that it was a interesting twist to a tale we all know so well.
Winter is upon us
This world that Lexi has created and the stories she writes are literally out of this world spectacular and Winter’s Arrow is going to be the next book you HAVE to read
Alpha Kazek goes to Winter sector on behalf of his Sector Alpha. Unfortunately, or Kazek would probably claim fortunately for him things get turned around quickly and he gets to shed a little blood Snow is a Beta and about to get engaged to an Alpha from Bariloche Sector, but when she learns of the plans for her demise, her seven Protectors devise a plan to get her out of the sector
Fabulous story and I cannot wait to read Sven’s story next when he ventures into Bariloche territory Thank you Lexi for my advanced copy and I willingly leave my honest review
What a captivating dark retelling of Snow/Winter. This is a more modernize tell mixed in with shifters.
Sinister Fairytales series:
Venom, Cold Queen, Sacrifice, Insolent, Madness, Siren, Legend, Mirage, Imprisoned, Lock, Abducted.
Winter’s Arrow is my first Lexi C. Foss novel but not my last! This Snow Frost may not be who she thinks but she isn’t going to roll over and take it. (For the most part!)
I love the complex world of these shifters. I’m intrigued by the laws, hierarchy, and general need to know things about these shifters.
Winter’s Arrow is a new world and I intend to explore it more.
Falling for the “enemy” is a hard pill to swallow. Fortunately for Winter, its the smallest one she has to handle in this book.
Winter’s Arrow is hot. Alpha Kazek is definitely my choice for a mate!
Sassy and sexy! A dark and devious omegaverse story that captured me from the first page. I loved the characters! With a dual POV we got to see both characters perspective drawing me further in and I couldn’t help but root for both of them. I really enjoyed how they developed and grew over the story. I definitely can’t wait from not only more from this series but this author as well!
Absolutely adore this world that this author has created. It started with Andorra Sector, went into X-Clan: The Experiment and now we have this little beauty, Winter’s Arrow.
All wolves, a few zombies and a whole lot of steam, grit and tension. Not to mention a gorgeous backdrop.
I get really frustrated with shifter stories. They tend to have pretty much the same storylines running through them but this world, with the element of zombies, really one ups a lot of books out there. I mean it’s not a common occurrence that you have the same paranormal and supernatural creatures featuring in the same book unless you’re using the old vampire/werewolf combo. Nothing wrong with that. I myself enjoy that kind of story.
But this?
This intrigues me on another level. Helps that I love all things zombies too.
Anywho, back to this story. In it we see Kazek, the wolf who is as badass as Chuck Norris, on steroids, shovelling rocks, just because. He’s the epitome of an alpha and I have to say that if there was a fight between sector leader Ander and Kazek, I’d pit my money on Kaz. I mean they’d be a pretty even match but I think Kaz would edge Ander out slightly. It’s not awful that he’s hot too. I mean I can totally get on board that, figuratively and physically.
Winter, I kind of hated but really loved in equal measure. (Actually I pretty much hate all female leads because they’re not me.) I hated her because she was way cooler that I could ever aspire to be and I loved her for her tenacity. She’s out for revenge and nothing and no one, not even an alpha wolf, hell bent on claiming his little pet, will stop her. And I loved that. Kind of reminded me of another of this author’s characters Eve. Eve’s tenacity is something to behold and I saw that with Winter toward the end.
As ever, the world building is on fire. The story is another cracker and I am once again left bereft that another story by this author has ended. Here’s hoping for more soon.
Highly recommend!
Wow this is another great read by this author!!! This had me hooked from the first page, I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. I recommend this as a must read. It a story full of emotions, that will have waiting to see what happens next!!!
There’s so much to say about Winter’s Arrow, but so much of it would be a spoiler. I will quite simply say I loved this book. I am absolutely loving the X-Clans world Lexi has created, and each couple provides their own story while building a world rich with life, tension, and real-ness throughout.
Kaz and Snow/Winter do not have an easy, or heck even an ideal, relationship for much of the book. They may be fated mates, but the road is rocky to even build a foundation that can be considered a real relationship.
Their communication skills are where the trouble begins because the attraction and steam are definitely not an issue for either character. The entire time I read this story, I was reminded of the Paula Abdul song “Opposites Attract”, every time they’d take two steps forward something would happen and they would take a step backward.
The tension and passion are what kept me reading, kept me hoping, and kept me cheering for these two. You never stop hoping that they will remove their heads from their sphincters, get out of their own way, and find the HEA they both want/deserve.
This story delivers on many levels, touches on dark themes, but also brings light where it is most needed. It is a roller coaster ride that I didn’t want to end. I want more. I want to see what happens with Kaz and Winter, I want to see what happens with side characters that were mentioned, I want to see so much more. And if I know this author at all, I will find those answers in time… Perhaps in 2025 when her writing schedule has slowed enough to allow the characters to break free…
Until then, this fresh new take on Snow White will be read and re-read many times to visit characters I’ve come to enjoy!
This was such a great read and I was glued from the second I picked this up reading this in one sitting.
This author consistently delivers and is now a definite one-click for me.
This one is set in the same world as Andorra Sector and is also in the sinister fairy tales series but is also a complete unrelated standalone and can be read as such.
It’s a loose Snow White retelling that is set in a dystopian omegaverse future complete with wolf-shifters.
Snow Frost of winter sector is in danger from her fiancé and her guardian the queen of Mirrors.
Smuggled out of her sector on the eve of her wedding for her own safety by her protective seven she finds herself seeking sanctuary.
Alpha Kazek of Norse sector is a made wolf and the former assassin the huntsman.
He is the wolf that sniffs her out mating her and saving her life in the process ultimately bringing this little omega to heel.
In saving her he reluctantly shoulders her responsibilities.
Kazek despite his Alpha status prefers being a lone-wolf and answering only to himself and his sector alpha.
But with his new mate being the rightful ruler of Winter sector this is no longer an option for him and he will need to do whatever is necessary to achieve their success even if this is something he initially shy’s away from.
Snow or Winter as she reinvents herself as is also embracing a whole new reality one she at first struggles to accept and though initially, stubborn she does actually adjust really well and swiftly to her new omega status.
So this was gripping and emotional and super hot with some fantastic chemistry.
A real page-turner of a read that I enjoyed very much.
It’s told in dual POV and I adored both Winter and Kazek equally.
Neither were perfect but together they made an unstoppable force each managing to further strengthen the other.
I mean even when I wanted to knock some sense into them and they both had their individual moments here I was still was rooting from them all the way.
Kazek and Winter are now up there with my favourite book couples ever.
This really had it all and It was a really great read one that I highly recommend you give a go.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Winter’s Arrow.

Another 5 star read from Lexi C. Foss.
Not only is there an epic love story, but the characters and continued world building is phenomenal.
Every character that Lexi writes is a person I become fully invested it. I laugh with them. Cry with them. Rage with them.
When I started reading Winters Arrow, I was immediately pulled into the world Lexi has created. Everything else fell away.
There’s a reason I 1 click all Lexi’s books. I suggest starting at the beginning of the X-Clan series. It wont be long before you’ve binge read all of them and are clamouring for more.
