The chills will come from more than the Winter Wonderland and Jane does manage to give me a steady supply. Though Winter Wonderland is the second book, Jane recaps Book I, A Secret To The Grave.
We start out with screeching tires and a screaming voice on a cold winter’s night. Did we get your attention? Made me sit up straight.
Detective Parker Bell is a very patient man and he will need all of that for his love interest, Tess. She is super private, not sharing her nightmares that haunt her sleep. She has a knack for reading people and can whip up a scrumptious pancake. The only place she feels safe is in Parker’s arms, but even her love for him has not overcome her trust issues. Parker can wait, he is strong, heroic, determined, loving…and did I say patient.
THE ICEMAN IS BACK…”death or capture, those are the only things that will end this…”
Jane Blythe does a fabulous job with the description of HIS hiding place. You will have to find it for yourself, though.
The ease with which HE creeps through the houses and takes THEM makes me wonder how that would work in real life. I love a book that gets my mind revved up, and Jane Blythe is doing it just fine. I can’t imagine how terrifying it would be to wake up, gasping for breath, a gun pointed at my head.
The past keeps coming back, complicating an already complicated scenario. The poor girls. I can’t imagine how they felt, the utter hopelessness, helplessness…
So freakin’ creepy. Never a dull moment. It may seem easy, at times, to decipher the plot, but Jane Blythe will NOT reveal HIM, until she is good and ready…and I do love that about her. Is she setting me up for something? Wouldn’t surprise me a bit.
I am only now at 42%…and Parker…WTF?
Wave after wave of shocks and surprises flow through the pages. Good luck trying to figure it out before Jane is ready to tell you. I wanted to scream and yell at them, tell them to look…please look…think Tessa, she told you…
Think the story is over, brace yourself. I did. One shock after another. Danger, threats…doesn’t quit, but I do see something good coming out of it. I could not stop reading. Kept me guessing who would live and who would die. Teeth gritting tenseness, gripping the kindle tightly, wishing, hoping…Can’t die…Can’t die…
Whew. I feel rode hard and put up wet.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Winter Wonderland by Jane Blythe.

Second in this series and just as good as the first. The author writes amazing storylines. I want to know how she comes up with the ways to kill her victims. Because holy cow. This was another interesting mind blowing book with Detective Parker Bell and his partner. But this go round it does involve Tessa also. I was hooked once again from the very beginning to the very end. This one was a page turning intense suspenseful exciting mystery. I absolutely loved trying to figure out who the Ice Man was. And then once you figure it out just wow. Jane does an amazing job writing each and every storyline. The characters are intense and make the storyline even more interesting. I absolutely loved this one and highly recommend it.
Oh boy book 2 is just as good if not better.Hold on to your seats people its another ride for sure. It can be read as a stand alone but I found reading book one first would give you background in to the relationship of Tessa and Parker.
This second book in this series is another suspense filled drama that involves Tessa and Parker.
This book I found to have a faster paced storyline and is very easy to read. There is once again an extremely creative mind at work that has you wondering until the end. I will say I am a little worried about how this author’s mind works- she is very talented in the murdering of her victims.
Tessa is a character that we are slowly started to get to know more and more plus as the story grows she is changing slightly. Parker Bell is a fabulous character who is so caring and loving.
Bring on book three.
More Torment for Parker and Tessa
Although the book could possibly be read as a stand-a-lone, it is very beneficial to read Book One first because it gives the complete background to Tessa and Parker’s story.
It’s been a year since Book One ended, and Tessa and Parker are slowly building a relationship as much as two people as damaged as they are, can do. I adore the extended family aura that Parker and his partner and the other detectives within their department have built as a support system for each other, along with their families.
They’re settling into a type of routine, and in book two Jane Blythe has thrown a spanner in the works with the return of Tessa’s older brother whom we heard about in the first book. With his return, it’s another challenge to Tessa’s carefully crafted facade, and Parker is waiting for the proverbial to hit the fan. Maybe this could do it.
With the new serial killer being in town, it seems that the case could revolve around Tessa, and Parker is kept very busy! 5 stars.
Following on from book 1 this book had me on the edge of my seat from the get go. I was stuck to my kindle. Loving this series
Wow! Just when I think nothing can top book 1 I read book 2 and am proved so wrong. So many twists and turns in this one and some insane discoveries that I would have never guessed. This one doesn’t actually end where book 2 left off but a year later with Tess & Parker working on their relationship……que a deranged serial killer and someone returning from the past. Suspenseful, twisted and brilliant.
Continuing on from the first book in the series this book will blow your mind with the twists and turns connecting all the dots.
The characters and plot will draw you in making you unable to look away
Wow ok now that’s more like it!!!
The iceman doth come when thy cold winters rage…….
Loved the continuation of parker and tessa’s story I was hooked from the start and with all the twists and turns it kept me on the edge of my seat ,I couldn’t get to the end fast enough !! with a fantastically written storyline with a plot that grips your mind and brilliant characters that leave you wanting more I will definitely be recommending this series and ahhh I soooooo adore parker ….
Cant wait to see what the next installment has instore for me.
I really enjoyed this one, with the winter comes a killer, my god I was on edge, I’ve found that from book 1 and this one that jane leaves you guessing right to the end and I never expected the connection at all.
Onto book 3 now.
I recieved a free copy for an honest review.
Wow! Another excellent read from Jane.
I can always count on her to give me chills while I’m reading her books.
I love the story, the plot, the twists and turns and the characters.
Cant wait for the next book
Loving the suspense and twists and turns of this series of this series, I do recommend you start with book 1 though. The details of everything in this series are so on point I couldn’t put it down
Wow another great book I absolutely loved it I couldn’t put it down at all and cant wait for more
Wow! What a roller coaster that was! Chilling to the point of actually giving me chills, this story was a thriller and a half! A serial killer on the loose, leaving no trace behind, Tessa and Parker are once again caught up in a crazy, scary, life threatening chase to solve the mystery of who the killer is and put an end to the evil Iceman. As always with this author, be prepared for the twists that you won’t see coming! I definitely didn’t and I really enjoyed it!
I thought that this was a very good read. This is the second book in this series and I do recommend that you read, A Secret To The Grave (Book 1) first as Parker and Tessa’s romance continues to unfold and previous events continue to play an integral part to the story. Prepare yourself for more tension, drama, emotions and spine tingling, bone chilling suspense. As much as I am enjoying this series, I will admit that I am still struggling to really like and connect with Tessa. Again, I find myself thinking that she is nowhere near as smart as she thinks she is and to top it off, I honestly am left to wonder if she truly learned anything from everything that occurred previously. Still, if I ignore my annoyance with this character, I feel that this is a very entertaining read.
If I want a great thriller then Jane Blythe is my go to girl, she never leaves me hanging. There are always things you never see coming, twists and turns that have you squirming in your seat and thrills that will have you reading through your fingers. With a serial killer on the loose, preying on young girls, no leads and no clues are leaving the Detectives who are running out of time and feeling at a loss. Loss and fears, horror and anxieties, hate and love are just a few of the emotions that you will feel right along with our characters. When cases interweave will they find the killer and put a stop to the reign of terror.
This is one series that you will kick yourself if you don’t read it. With thrills, murder, mystery and intrigue and characters so twisted, what more could you want!
