I absolutely adored Wyn and her Guardians. There is a ton of action, drama, suspense and sexy times. The story is well written but I did find some errors. It does have a fantastic flow to it. I loved the support characters and they add so much to the story. This story with have you laughing, angry, in disbelief, and rooting all at the same time. This is a must read!
Fantastic RH book! Love Wyn and her men so much!
This is a FANTASTIC audiobook & such a great 1st in series! I refuse to give spoilers in 1st in series books but I will tell you this……..
1. The world building is amazing!
2. The story flows perfectly.
3. Wyn is badass. And last but not least
4. The men are YUMMY! LOL
I found Skye MacKinnon & her audiobooks pretty recently while the world was major shite & her and her audiobooks were a bright beautiful shining light.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this audiobook & for that matter, all of her works of art. You won’t be disappointed.
I liked this book, the premise was intriging, and the characters interesting, it was a page turner and entertaining. I can’t wait to for the next book to find out what happens next to Win and her guardians, the narration was good. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
This is a good book. I enjoyed listening to it. I really like the narrator’s voice, she made the story for me. I can’t wait until the next one
Nobody warned Wyn that her powers could come on line suddenly and erratically. She knew there would be changes but this seriously sucked. Lacking any control it is a wild and painful start to her birthday.
As things are literally burning around her she meets her guardians and finds out that her ‘human’ mother had a letter from her birth mother. This leads to anger and another flare.
The Guardians need to get her to her birth mother. This is no easy task what with magic flares. Traveling to the nearest gate to the realm, is fraught with challenges including an attempted kidnapping.
We meet lots of interesting characters in this book, including some reformed demons.
Lots of action, humor, tears and some sizzle.
I don’t usually read reverse harem stories, though I have been pleasantly surprised by some recently. This book was a very pleasant surprise. The RH aspect was not overdone, and seemed an integral part of the plot. I decided to try this after reading Skye’s “Meow” and thoroughly enjoying it. I’m glad I did; I’ve found yet another author to follow. The Amazon description tells everything you need to know, just start reading and enjoy the story. It may be good to start with Mother of Gods (Daughter of Winter, #0). I didn’t realize there was a prequel before I finished Winter Princess. As usual with fantasy, take a big dose of ‘suspension of belief’, and get into the writer’s universe; it’s a fun read.
On her 22nd birthday, Wynter, the biological daughter of Beira, the Winter Queen, meets Arc, Frost, Crispin and Storm in a cataclysmic event. Several kidnap attempts on the way to the Gate to the Realms of the Gods, but Wyn is rescued. Then when they arrive at the Calanais Standing Stones, they find an army of Demons waiting. Wyn must master her magic if they are to have a chance against the army. This leads to many new and unique experiences, both wonderful and terrible. She finally meets her mother, Mother of the Gods, in her magnificent palace.
Somehow there was something about the narration of Laurel Schroeder that niggled with me all through the book and never quite let me settle 100%. She did bring the characters and story alive, however.
I liked the set up of the story, the way that the characters were brought together. The men cracked me up all through the story with their reactions to what was happening and to each other. I did chuckle quite a few times. Where the story was left has intrigued me and I need to know how it carries on…
Winter is such a charismatic character. She exhibits a lot of growth throughout the book. The world and relationship building is phenomenal.
A wonderful, wacky, fantastic, unpredictable fairytale! With awesome, exciting characters, four sexy guardians to protect the sweet beautiful princess , and horrible Demons and Assassins. Full of drama, surprises, secrets, and evil creatures using magic to try to kidnap and kill the princess! She survives the attacks, but will the queen? Can she save the queen, or is it too late? Who will save her!
This is the first book I have read by this author and I will definitely be reading more! I loved the story and can’t wait for the next one. I hope the author keeps writing longer books, because I would have gone insane having to read one episode at a time.
The author drew me in from the first page to the last. The book had a lot of adventure and I loved Wyn and her four sexy guardians.
Audiobook version:
I was very intrigued by the storyline. I love stories where a characters powers are still developing as something new can always pop up. Nothing is impossible. I thought the characters were well developed. There are a lot of main characters so I am still looking forward to learning more about them but that is to be expected. Book 2 should hopefully clear up some of the unknowns.
Narration was good- Laurel has a beautiful voice and a great accent for this book.
This series starter blew me away. Within the first few chapters I was absolutely hooked. I love the characters, the suspense, the intrigue. I love the steadily developing relationship between Wyn and her guardians. I just loved it all. I was even ok with the cliff hanger ending, but only because I get to jump right into the next story asap.
I loved the narration. Laurel Schroder is one of my favorites and I hope she continues to narrate all of these because she just has one of those voices that is entertaining and has a broad range for the different characters.
I am left with lots of questions regarding the princess. I like her character but don’t understand everything she is dealing with. The guardians are hot and forthright, just the way I like them 😉 Overall I was a little confused on where the story was going but the epilogue spoken by the queen has me hooked for another book. The narrator did a fantastic job, really enjoyed all the voices. Felt very natural. Looking forward to book 2.
This is the first book of this fantastic Series, The Daughter of Winter. I love Wyn and her four hot guardians, Arc, Crispin, Storm and Frost. Their journey to reach the Realms of Gods, where Wyn’s Mother is waiting for her, is captivating, action packed and fast paced. The Epilogue is intriguing. Now, I can’t wait for the next book in the Series. The narration was well done, as always with Laurel Schroeder. She has the perfect voice for this Paranormal Reverse Harem. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.
I love this book. Could not put it away. So i baught the serie and kept going!
I LOVE this book, it is the best out of the series in my opinion, and I will always hold it close to my heart, I have reread it more than the other three if that says anything also. There’s action, romance, drama, suspense, mystery… And putting the cart before the horse here since this is just book 1, I am still upset that the series is complete. If Skye MacKinnon ever reads her book reviews, I hope she reads this and makes a spinoff, or a book 5. Just saying. It’s too good to end.
Amazing book! It follows Wyn, the daughter of the Winter Queen, and her four Guardians as she travels to the Realms where she has been summoned by her mother.
I love all of the characters, Wyn is fantastic and strong while still being vulnerable and the four Guardians all have unique personalities that shine through. The story has action, humour, snark, and sexual tension.
I’m dying for more. It’s a must read!
Book one in a brand new series and it’s off to a great start. We get meet Wynter the daughter of the Queen who is a Goddess. This gives Wyn some awesome powers though she must reach a certain birthday to get them all but man is it life changing for her when they do. Four guardians show up to escort her to her mom with a one problem after the other along the journey. The world was just awesome and I love all the main characters already. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
This was a very unique and fun story, I loved the magic and the personality all the characters have. The sexy men and all the creative work put into the world building in this story. The whole thing is wonderful, I’m excited to read book two!
