Stacy is a rancher in a man’s world, but this is one battle she can’t face alone. Her father hoped his only son would be a rancher, instead, it turned out Stacy was the one that lived and breathed cattle. Taking over the ranch and proving herself in a man’s world was more challenging that Stacy ever imagined. When cattle rustlers target her ranch, she turns her shotgun on the most handsome man … most handsome man she’s ever seen, only to find out it’s the new sheriff. If Stacy wants a chance at getting back her cattle, that means trusting the first man that heats her blood.
Griffin Bailey saw his time in White Horse Creek as a time out from the city and his troubled past. He didn’t expect the redhead rancher, or the way she picked at the ice around his heart.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This is a wonderful addition to the series. Stacy Flannigan is a rancher who co-owns the Irish Rover Ranch with her writer brother, Steven. Unfortunately rustlers have taken it upon themselves to stealing some of her cattle. She leaves the ranch house in the middle of the night. Concerned for her welfare, Steven calls the new sheriff of White Horse Creek, Griffin Bailey.
The road to Griffin and Stacy’s HEA is one that is filled with up’s and down’s. Stacy was home-schooled so even though she has lived in White Horse Creek forever, she doesn’t feel like she belongs. Griffin is serving two years as sheriff because of an incident in Chicago, where he is a detective for the past 10 years. His divorce left him with a sense of unfeeling. These two definitely have some issues to get around plus they have to stop the cattle rustlers.
This story was written in my favorite dual POV format. Getting into the thoughts of the characters’ really help to see them as more human then just characters in a book. The plot was well written and flowed nicely. I adored having prior characters making appearance here.
The bedroom scenes were just eluded to. There was nothing written that should offend anyone. While this is a part of a series and really can be read as a stand-alone, I would highly recommend starting at the beginning.
This is a great romantic suspense story you don’t want to miss. Stacy is a strong and independent rancher determined to protect her ranch from rustlers. Griffin is the new sheriff from the city and is drawn to Stacy from the minute they meet. The story is well written and has plenty of drama, mystery, witty conversation and great characters. I enjoyed reading this book as much as I did the others in this series and look forward to reading more from this author.
A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. This is about Stacy and how she helps the new sheriff with cattle rustling happening on her ranch. Again this is a standalone read but to follow along you find out how they all fit together. I hope this isn’t the end of the series because they are all great reads.
It may be a man’s world but Stacy is doing her best to hang in there and be as hard shelled as the boys. Or should I say, cowboys? We know this at the very beginning of the book when we find her aiming her shotgun to pick off rustlers trying to steal her cattle. She was ready and more than willing to sink a bullet into whoever tried to steal what is hers. Yes, she talks a good talk. But can she really walk the walk?
The problem with Stacy is she keeps thinking she has to prove herself, but that in itself is a problem. Why? Because no one in town really knows her. She remained out of sight, out of mind since childhood. The townsfolk have the misconception of her being an at home primadonna while her brother, Steven runs the ranch. Oh boy, are they ever wrong.
And those rustlers just may be more than ordinary, cowboy rustlers. Has Stacey bit off more than she can chew? She just may need to accept some help, some serious help. There’s a new sheriff in town and he’s for real…. in more ways than one. He’s one tough ‘cop’ who’s the real thing. No paper pusher here. He’s comes from a detective background from the crime ridden streets of Chicago. Yep, he’s the total package when it comes to fighting crime. And it doesn’t hurt that he’s not bad on the eyes either.
OBSEVATIONS:
… It’s one thing to be stubborn, it’s another thing to be stupidly stubborn. Unfortunately, Stacy qualifies as the latter.
… Hmmmm…. if you’re on a stakeout waiting for hardened criminals to show, do you really get all intimate?
…. When Stacy finally does get her chance to show her ‘toughness’, she freezes. Thankfully she ‘acts’ before she thinks…. you’ll understand this when reading the book.
Another great read to the Colorado Crazy series. This one brings strong characters in Stacy and Griffin who have a strong chemistry and steamy passion. It’s well written with detailed scenes and an entertaining story line. It moves quickly and smoothly and I enjoyed reading. I would recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I was really happy to get this book. It was very well written and I could connect with both Stacy and Griffin. Stacy is an independent woman, who loves ranching. Griffin is a lawman thru and thru. Fate brings them together and you’ll have to get the book to see what else happens. I really enjoy books by Milan Watson as she tells a wonderful story. You feel just like you are in the book. I was given an advanced reader copy and this is my voluntary review.
If you’ve read the other reviews, you’ll see that this was another enjoyable story from White Horse Creek from Milan Watson. I definitely agree!
My highest praise for the author is this: SHE LEAVES YOU WANTING MORE! For several days, I found myself thinking that I needed to continue reading the book…then I’d remember… I didn’t have any more to read! But, it felt like the story could go on and I wanted more. She had, once again, drawn me into another world where I lost myself in the story.
I received an ARC and am leaving this review of my own choice.
I have thoroughly enjoyed each of the books in the Colorado Crazy series. In this final story, Winter in Colorado, we meet the new sheriff, Griffin Bailey. He’s been called out to the Irish Rover ranch by Steven Flannigan because his sister, Stacy, who runs the ranch, is outside, in the middle of the night, with a shotgun, trying to stop cattle thieves all by herself. Griffin assures her that he will do all that he can to catch the cattle rustlers but Stacy does not believe him. Griffin does not realize that his predecessor tended to do nothing and the people of White Horse Creek have come to expect nothing from the police. Griffin soon realizes that he not only has to change Stacy’s perception of him as the sheriff, but also her perception of him as a man – a man who finds her attractive and accepts her for who she is.
Watson always does a wonderful job of allowing you to see the story as she does. Her characters become people you as your friends, her settings become places you want to visit, and her stories are ones you never want to end.
This is another fun, romantic, suspenseful story in the Colorado Crazy series. It was so much fun watching Stacy Flannigan’s character grow from someone who never felt like she was a part of White Horse Creek to someone who is very much a part of their community. I loved her feisty, stubborn character and the banter she shared with the new sheriff in town.
I also like the tale of the cattle rustlers and how the new sheriff, Griffin Baily, was going to help find them. I enjoyed how Griffin swept Stacy off her feet or maybe it was Stacy sweeping Griffin off of his feet. The story will put a smile on your face and leave you happy that you visited White Horse Creek, Colorado. What a fun series! I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
tacy is a rancher, Griffin is the new sheriff. Stacy grew up on the ranch, was home schooled, and kept to herself. The people in her town really have no idea as to her life. In this story not only does she find love but makes friends in the town. Griffin is starting over in the small town after being a Chicago detective. These two fell for each other fast. This is a quick, enjoyable read.
This book is one of those hidden gems in my opinion. I was expecting a book where they see each other and hit it off right away. With a great deal of hot steamy sexy times. That the hero was into having control. Well, he is but not the way I thought. What I got was something more. They have great chemistry and attraction. I also got heavy drama, I would recommend this to anyone!!
“I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.”
This is part of the Colorado Crazy Series but can be read as a standalone. You’ll love Stacy and Griffin’s story. Both are strong characters and their chemistry is explosive. She’s a rancher who’s having problems with cattle rustlers and he’s the new sheriff in town. He’s a city boy from Chicago and knows little about cows or rustling. Well written and fun to read. Milan has another winner.
Another love match made in White Horse Creek. Stacy is a rancher who loves what she does. Griffin is a city boy and the new Sheriff in town. From the moment they meet sparks fly. Griffin has to solve the crime of who is stealing cattle from her ranch. While they work this partnership they also get to spend time together and fall in love. This series continues with beloved characters and witty conversations. Another great addition to the town.
This is a great story with great characters. I really enjoyed reading this book. This is a great new addition to this series.
I received a review copy of this book and I am voluntarily giving an honest review
Stacy wrangles herself a lawman, not a rustler!
4.5stars
Another sweet western romance with a tinge of heat in this series of standalone stories about the residents of White Horse Creek, Colorado. I’ve read every story in the series and each couple featured has a unique flavor.
Rancher Stacy, the heroine, is an independent loner, but not necessarily by nature. I really liked her strength and sense of worth. Most locals think she just keeps house for her rancher brother, never guessing that she runs their ranch solo. And she manages to be a respected ranch boss through pitching in right beside her hands while maintaining her femininity.
Her immediate connection with new Sheriff Griffin over the barrel of her shotgun is a dramatic start to the story. What follows is a tale of romance and action as Stacy sets out to protect her ranch. In the process, she also forms new friendships within the community and major characters from the previous stories in the series pop in on occasion.
It’s a short and enjoyable read with a hopeful ending and, for me, the highlight is tough yet tender Stacy.
Romance with the Law.
Griffin Bailey is the new sheriff in town but Stacy has no reason to believe he will be an improvement on the old one. Someone is rustling her cattle and she has every intention on stopping them, without anyone else’s help. A good read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Like the rest of the books in the series – I did enjoy it. It is well written and one does not feel borred reading it. My only complaint is the sexual intimicacy so early in their acquintance .
You have to read this book to find out why Stacy held Griffin at gunpoint when she first met him.
It is an amazing story. Stacy and Griffin are great characters who have such amazing chemistry that they set the woods afire. He was a strong stubborn man and she was an equally strong independent woman. Reminded me of the old John Wayne Maureen O’Hara movies. I gave it five stars only because I could not give it more. If you want to read a terrific contemporary romance, I highly recommend Winter in Colorado by Milan Watson.
Really enjoyed reading this new one in the series. Wonderful characters that have great interaction. Good revisiting the characters from the previous books. Didn’t want to put it down until I finished it.
I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
