Christiana Elizabeth Marissa Abigail has been queen of Ravenzario since her family died in a horrific car accident when she was five. Her uncle acted as her regent until she was of age. In the last year, the uncovering of his duplicity shook the country’s faith in her – and her faith in herself. At least she is finally going to get to marry her secret boyfriend. Isn’t she?
American Alexander … Alexander Bayfield has been in love with the queen of his adopted country for years. A chance conversation, one he wasn’t supposed to overhear, inserted him into Queen Christiana’s inner circle. For two years, he’s watched as her relationship with a man he knows to be evil progressed. The evidence to finally put him away for good has been uncovered and it’s up to Alexander to break the news to her.
The aftermath leaves Alexander as the only one Christiana can turn to, the only one who can protect her reputation and, more importantly, her heart. Will he be able to win it for himself, or will secrets from his past, paparazzi who tell stories before checking facts, and the long-reaching tentacles of her uncle’s empire keep them from finding love?

Oh my goodness! I couldn’t wait to read this book when I first saw it, it looked so cute. I adored the characters and really enjoyed getting to see them grow. Winning the Queen’s Heart by Carol Moncado was an excellent read!
Queen Christina is gathering the rains of her kingdom but so much has happened and she fears that her subjects will never trust her again. Things are finally starting to look up, as she prepares for her wedding. However, life doesn’t seem to let up, days before the wedding she learns that her fiance is planning to kill her a couple of days after the wedding. Suddenly, she finds herself planning a wedding without a groom.
Alexander has found herself being part of the Queen’s inner circle. He is now one of the few people that the queen can trust. So when he learns that she needs to make a decision about the wedding he offers up himself to be the groom. He knows that she worries what the people would do if they learned there would be no wedding. The public already had a shaky view of Christina because of past circumstances. Christina accepts his proposal but being married is harder than they think and there are forces working against them.
Christina and Alexander were perfect for each other. But before they are able to realize this, they need to work through some issues. Christina had learned how to protect herself by not letting people in. She had been betrayed more times then the young queen could handle especially by those she should have been able to trust. Being a queen is hard, but it is even harder when you have to carry the heavy burden on your own.
Christina had to grow before she was able to truly let Alexander in her heart. She had to break down the walls and she had to work at her marriage. I felt for Christina, she had been carrying a heavy load since she was five. But she was also so strong and I was so happy when things started looking up for her and Alexander.
I loved Alexander from the beginning. He was a knight in shining army for Christina. They may not have started out loving each other, but he truly cared for her. He was her stronghold when life got rough. Life did start to rock for them and Alexander will have to learn what it means to be a husband and the leader of his family. Alexander and Christina grew so much and I wanted to cheer for them when things finally started to look up.
I really loved Winning the Queen’s Heart, it was a great clean christian book. I would definitely recommend this book, and I am already starting the next books.
Having read many of Carol’s books, I am an enthusiastic follower of her books about the royals and their loves and adventures. The stories are entertaining, hold my interest and I love the intertwined characters.
