ONE BREATHLESS WONDER!!!
Cool the fire! Isabella stirs one chaotic mix that’s as thrilling as it riveting with all the shenanigans and mayhem that blasts this baby to life flawlessly. A multitude of booming intensity, chocked-full of astonishing events that keep you flipping page after page. A bounty of perplexing situations that thrusts our characters head long into a tailspin they never saw coming with surprising results. Pushing on-ward, hurdling the trials and tribulations, along with a slew of plot twists and sharp turns fuses this baby together sleek, shiny and tight. Add in distress, secrets, turmoil, intrigue, danger and suspense and you have the recipe for one chart topping, prize winning bombshell. The chemistry is intense and palpable. The characters and their on point personalities are authentic and realistic with depth and qualities that blend and flow. The scenes are so vividly detailed it gives the illusion you were right there with them instead of on the sidelines. Remarkable job Isabella, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
An interesting start to a new series, this Regency romance is clean but not lacking in passion. There is some suspense with espionage afoot, and Miss Jane Bellevue unwittingly gets caught up in it. Upon arrival at her new friend’s home for the Christmas holidays, Jane is immediately attracted to Charlotte’s brother, the Earl of Keegain, only to find that he is already spoken for. As the guests begin to gather, there are undercurrents that unsettle Jane and the Earl and they find themselves turning more and more towards one another. This book is generally well written and is a standalone, coming to a good conclusion. However, the door has been left open for the next book in the series. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I had an ARC copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. This is a delightful Regency Christmas tale complete with Heroes and Heroines, Villains and a damsel in distress and a masquerade ball. The story line kept my interest, and all turns right in the end. Great work Isabella! I’ll be looking forward to reading the other Ladies of Bath books.
Step into a dangerous Regency Christmas
Although not of wealth or noble blood, still Miss Jane Bellevue easily made friends with a few ladies of the ton. It never mattered to Jane that she was not of the peerage until she met her friend’s brother, Lord Keegain.
As a wealthy earl, it never occurred to Lord Keegain to be anything other than honorable and true to his given word. His focus had always been on his family and his duty until he meet his sister’s friend, Miss Bellevue.
At this time of the year, I enjoy reading a sweet and clean holiday romance. Winning Lady Jane went above and beyond my expectations, especially when an element of danger was added to an otherwise simple plot.
As leading characters, I liked both Jane and Rudolph. I also liked the way Isabella Thorne threw together quite a few characters from varying social backgrounds, and yet deftly wove them into an interesting romance with a few moral lessons. I always appreciate it when an author makes the supporting characters as interesting as the lead characters, as she did in this story. All in all, reading this book was like peeking into the window of a grand estate as the occupants prepare for the upcoming holiday celebrations during the nineteenth century.
Content: Even though there are a few “kissing” scenes, this book is still a clean and sweet.
Disclosure: I received an ARC of this book from the author. I am voluntarily submitting my honest review.
Isabella Thorne has given us a wonderful Regency Christmas story.
Miss Jane is often affectionately called “Lady Jane” by her family because her attitude and actions match those that best describe what it means to be a “Lady” in the aristocracy. But while she has a distant ancestor that was a minor aristocrat, she knows she is not. However, she has made aristocratic friends, and is invited to the Christmas house party of an Earl by one of his sisters. During the house party, not everyone accepts her the way the Earl’s sister and her friends have. However, even in the face of adversity, Jane’s actions never fail to meet the highest standards. She hopes to make a match with a gentleman, not a Lord. However, in the end, she captures the heart of an aristocrat. And while Jane’s heart responds in kind, she does not feel worthy of a man of nobility. He must work hard to convince her she truly deserves to be “Lady Jane”.
I read this book through Kindle Unlimited.
Perfect from the beginning to the end!
I loved this story. The characters were engaging, realistic and most had honorable personalities. The storyline was fabulous. A romance hindered by a betrothal, English traitors loyal to Napoleon in their mist, a kidnapping and the story ending with a happily ever after. I do wish there had been an extended epilogue. I wonder if the King’s men found out who the peer at the head of the traitorous organization was. I also wonder if they caught the fourth man involved in the kidnapping. This is a must read and I highly recommend it.
A Christmas gem.
A Christmas gem from the talented pen of Isabella Thorne is what awaits us, lucky readers. It starts out with an awesome cover and then within is a wonderful story. It is set in four parts with just grand unexpected twists. There is a rather dangerous masquerade, borrowed identity, a man who is not in love with his future bride, villains, traitors, and love. What a combination!! I really liked the Earl he was an outstanding character. I liked how it ended too. All Christmas should be as happy. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review
This was a captivating read from the very first page with a wonderfully written storyline and well created characters made this book a very enjoyable and entertaining read!
Another well written regency. I love this because the “plain” Jane finds her happily ever after. The Earl is great too because he not pompous or snobbish. Sweet, clean romance with humor, emotion and tension. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author.
A really lovely Christmas Regency Romance from Isabella Thorne!
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. After Janes’s mother passed away, her father taught her business practices so she would be a clever and capable young woman. He was only a second son and they could not afford the fancy dresses required for all the balls for a London season. Jane was expected to marry well to provide for her younger sister. The book goes on in wonderful detail how society in London really is, all the beautiful dresses, balls and estates. I very much enjoyed the Christmas setting and all the intrigue the book provides. I will leave that for you to read for yourselves and I definitely recommend this book.
Nice clean romance story. Good plot. Stuffy old English class system. But love finds a way of breaking through. Very enjoyable read.
clean
Good story and no sex
great story-very entertaining
This was my first Isabella Thorne book and I loved it!
Could not get into the story, got a third of the way through and jumped to the end.
Loved the story. I couldn’t put it down.
