I love this story! If you are a fan of regency romance then you will love this one also! I was thrilled to read when Jane and the Earl first met. It was love at first sight but since Earl Keegain was betrothed she knew she shouldn’t be having these feelings for him. It was an agonizingly, slow burn, tension filled circumstance. Ms Thorne’s style of writing is excellent. Descriptions of the characters brought me into their lives as if they were my own acquaintances. Her vividly written scenes allowed me to see them with my own eyes. I wonder how I have not read anything by this author before. Where have I been? I believe I have truly missed out, but no more. I’m hooked. Highly recommended.
An incredible page turner!
This story has an amazing storyline. The characters are very gregarious. The characters make the story come to life! There are so many parts to this story to keep you entertained, I couldn’t out it down. A young lady, Jane, is befriended by another, Charlotte, who is of higher status. Jane received an invitation to Charlotte’s to spend the Christmas season at her home. The big event that Jane is looking forward to us the Christmas ball that is an annual tradition. The suspense to find out how the ball goes is immense! There is a love story, a struggle in a relationship, bullying, and a mystery as well. This book has it all!
This story is romantic in the fact that Earl meets an enchanting lady. It loses that romance when he is already engaged to another woman. I understand that the betrothal is not a love match, but how honorable is it for a man to look at another woman when he has promised himself to another. This is the problem with the English and why they are perceive as cold human beings. They make marriages to continue their line without thought of having to live with this woman for the rest of their lives. The Earl of Keegain can thank Jane & the traitors for opening his eyes.
Winning Lady Jane is an enjoyable read. Isabella Thorne has outdone herself with this novel, with a heart warming cast of characters who are believable and with wonderful secondary characters become very endearing as the story progresses. It’s an unforgettable Regency romance with a strong plot that brings this read together perfectly. Jane and Keegain find a sweet romance filled with kidnapping, mystery, drama, twist and turns, and trials and tribulations.
