This was the best science fiction book I have read in awhile. This book is for anyone that believes in UFO’s and that we are not alone in the universe.
I’m not the biggest Sci-Fyi fan but the main character captured my attention and ended up enjoying this book. An enjoyable read!
I loved it – It was hard to put down. Lots of action and adventure with great characters. I would highly recommend to Sifi fans.
One of the best space yarns I’ve ever read.
I made it more than halfway through the book before finally giving up. The book has great potential: it’s exciting and action-packed. Unfortunately, the blatant misogyny, chauvinistic attitude, continuous micro-aggressions, and negative stereotyping of women is overwhelming. I feel sorry for the author and his attitude towards half the people of the human race. This was written in 2012. I thought we were better than this. And Templar Press supported this attitude. I am disappointed, hope the author gets help for his issues, and won’t read any other books of his.
All the women are portrayed as either petulant and moody immature 12 year olds or highly manipulative and conniving, using their bodies to get what they want. A woman with a Harvard degree and in the CIA is not going to behave like person portrayed in this book. Every portrayal of women is that they are not as good as men at anything. Again, the attitude of the book towards women was frustrating, denigrating, and dismissive. My only recommendation for this book is that it is an excellent example of misogyny.
Best book I’ve read in a long time. Nonstop action, great characters and terrific plot. This is a series I definitely will follow and highly recommend.
Great science fiction!
Iiked the book so much I intend on reading other books by this author. Although it is part of a series, It didn’t leave you completely hanging. It all starts when the main character isa contracter flying a covert load of cargo for the CIA to South America. He has to land at a small airport in Puerto Rico to refuel only to find out that the female mechanic at the hanger is not who she says she is. To complicate matters, while his plane is parked at the remote hanger the local police show up to “inspect” his covert cargo and he has to shoot his way out. We later find out that the “police” were really the local drug cartel in police uniforms who were tipped off that his cargo were drugs and the female mechanic was an FBI agent meant to intercept him. From that point on, it becomes pure science fiction. They fly into the Bermuda triangle while being chased by U.S. Navy jets because everyone thinks he is drug running. His plane, along with two navy jets disappear from radar during a storm in the Bermuda triangle, I don’t want to spoil the whole story but needless to say it gets even more exciting !
Author is clearly a fan of, or participant in, competitive shooting sports and the piloting of aircraft. The protagonist is an obvious author insert / Mary Sue. Guns, shooting, aircraft and piloting are described in tiresome detail. Also, ever hot woman in the book wants to have sex with the protagonist, so we can add “harem fantasy worse than you see in anime cartoons” to the list of UGH about this book.
great story, reminds of Asmiov or Heinlein. Highly recommend it.
AWESOME!
Very good read
I cracked up when I found out what the alien spacecraft was! The down side was spacecraft ‘flying’ like airplanes. The author ignored actual space flight mechanics; but, that aside, the story charges along developing the comradeship of our heroes.
I thought this was a very good read. It brings in the Bermuda Triangle and the possibility of what happens to all those old mysteries about it.
Enjoyed it. Has a lot of action. In this book the characters were fairly one dimensional, & the females were almost caricatures and not given much thought by the males in the story. Perhaps the characters will all be developed more in later books in the series.
I would actually rate this 4.5. Very good reading. As one reviewer noted, “good old fashioned gun fights.” I’m going to include the observation that there is alphabet soup plotting involved that adds a tiny bit of mystery as to whether or not any home coming will occur and if peace will prevail.
Our author does try, and does a good job, to keep you guessing about some activities to happen and how they will end.
Young readers will find a hint of sex, but it is more alluded to. Certainly not the overly described shenanigans of red cover books. Nor does the reader get graphic descriptions of gore during or after battles.
Yep, I did enjoy it enough to want the followup books.
This was a new author for me, I intend to read the whole series. I like the fact that the dog can talk.
really really enjoyed this book. good story & plot. well written. bought book 2 right after reading this…..
fun
Space Opera, this was an alright story. It did keep me reading. I did enjoy how the author build this world.
skip the first paragraph until after you’ve read the 2nd
having trouble getting into it. may just be that i don’t want to read about someone getting double crossed by someone and that’s the way i feel this book is heading. i’ll keep it for a later date
STOP hubby showed more patience than i and told me read further. WOW fun space opera adventures. liked it so well, i went out and bought the rest of the series
