Find my magic. Be the best. Beat the odds.I survived the Obsidian Order’s first series of trials. I stopped a madman from putting a massive crater in the middle of New York City. Good job, Seline, but that was only the beginning. As I take on my silver trials, friends become competition, competitors turn ruthless, and I still can’t touch my magic without it nearly killing me every time I do. If I … me every time I do. If I don’t win these trials I’ll get left behind, and I’ve been promised that won’t be good for me.
If that weren’t enough, the infuriatingly sexy Draven asks me to accompany him on a mission to retrieve an item of incredible magical power. Naturally, I saddle up and go with him, hoping at the very least to get a few extra credit points on my trials. But what I encounter is bigger than trials or Orders, and could mean the death of us all.
Wings of Night is a fast paced urban fantasy, with characters that’ll make you laugh, gripping scenes that’ll make you frantically turn pages to find out what happens next, and sizzling romantic tension that’ll leave you wanting more. So, scroll up and treat yourself!

“Wings of Night” is book two in Katerina Martinez’s The Obsidian Order series.
Having stopped the Singing Stone from exploding and killing everyone, Seline has now graduated to a Silver Prospect. Being a Silver Prospect hasn’t really changed all that much, training is harder and more vigorous, the other Prospects are using magic and Seline still isn’t able to use hers which gives her a disadvantage. But that doesn’t stop her from training harder and trying to be the best regardless.
A great read with heaps of action, suspense, Magic, and angst. I’m loving this series, the storyline and plot is addictive and entertaining.
I’m looking forward to reading the next book. This book had me on the edge of my seat and with how it ended and I can’t wait to see how things go next.
Book one was good but this ramps things up with plenty of action, lots of twists and turns. Some humor and an absolutely wonderful storey. Love these characters and really enjoying teh storey.
The story is good. The characters are compelling and well created, but the storyline feels extremely drawn out and answers to questions are barely sprinkled into the series so far..
Holy crap! Where to begin? Uhh well crazy trials, murderous Minotaur, stones, and douchebags. To a somber ending. Ugh. But now I want to know what Seline wants to know! Book 3 where you at??
Wings of Night by Katerina Martinez brings us back to where things left off in book one. Seline is back and she’s a silver prospect now. The trials are continuing, but she’s not just dealing with the trials anymore. Seems that she’s caught the eye of one her of her fellow prospects and not in the “I’m attracted to you” kind of way. This guy has a bone to pick with Seline and he’s bringing his attitude full-force! Add in that Drevan has found a new singing stone, but who’s the guy this other Order is using? Are they using him to get the stone? What’s his story? Can he be trusted? Something really stinks and it could endanger them all.
Wings of Night is a book that you can just smell the danger coming off of. Warning bells start going off everywhere you look. Drevan is still the tough enforcer, but you can tell that Seline is getting to him. You absolutely know that something is up when he asks Seline to accompany him and a few others on a mission. Things only proceed to go south from there. The trials are continuing, for some reason, they are getting more deadly, Seline still can’t access her kithe. I have to say that I appreciate how Seline is less mouthy in this book and that she’s dialed back the attitude. I like sassy characters, but when you’re just running your mouth to be running it you become annoying. LOL! I have to say that the author has more than a couple of surprises in this book. There are a couple of predictable moments/situations, but I’m cool with that.
There isn’t much that I don’t like about this book. I will admit that I’d love to learn more about the mysterious Rey. Not gonna lie though…I’m disappointed in Drevan. I was like…man! Come on! Seriously?! LOL!
All in all, this is a gripping story. The author throws in some unexpected surprises, you will get teary-eyed so get ready, and prepare for just a TASTE of romance. The author had me leaning forward and everything! LOL! I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I can’t wait to find out what happens next!
I thought I was so proud of myself for maybe having an inkling of where this series might go next. Just as the gods laugh at mortals with a plan, I’m sure authors laugh at readers with a theory. Because at no point could I have predicted any of what just happened in this book. I love that we’re starting to tease threads of Seline’s very tangled web free, and that were beginning to see how Draven is wrapped up in it all. And while I love all the suspense and drama the slow reveal across the series creates, it’s making me a crazy person because I NEED the know the answers. I guess I’m just going to have to wait (im)patiently for the next book now.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
Great follow-up to Wings of Light. I have so many more questions! Like what exactly is Selene? Why does she react to the stones in certain ways? I am just loving this series. Strong characters and an original plot make this series a great must read. Can’t wait for book three!
Wow! Action packed and intense, I really did not want to put this down! Betrayal rears it’s ugly head in ways unimaginable. Seline starts to unravel the mystery surrounding her…starts…only scratches the surface but it is interesting and I can’t wait to find out all about her!
