A crime with no eyewitnesses. A determined psychic sleuth. Will her search for clues take her where angels fear to tread? Mitzy Moon is eager to test her expanding abilities. Although she’d love to look into the hit-and-run that struck down her favorite veterinarian, leads are slim to none. And before she can suss out a single tip, the advances of a charming green-eyed stranger provide a … dangerous distraction. Desperate for any hint, she goes undercover at the high school and lands on the wrong side of the law by lunch. And her “get out of jail free card” comes with the help of her meddling Grams, an interfering feline, and her alchemically inclined attorney. But when a gypsy curse puts her powers on the fritz, she may not be able to save everyone. Can Mitzy juggle dating and sleuthing, or will a hex knock off more than her halo? Another great book
Another fun witty read. Mitzy needs a nickname of Mischief as that is what she gets into when she decides to sleuth a hit and run accident and a kidnapping of a Angel statue .With the fun sarcasm remarks between her and ghost ma and endless clumsiness esp around the hottie sheriff, the reader will for sure giggle and smile throughout the story.
I received a free copy of this audio book in exchange for an honest review:
Third in the series, I am still enjoying these entertaining narrations. Recognizing that past truly is prologue Mitzy is beginning to accept that events in her life have all served a purpose. Like many of us, while she would not have asked for the difficult times, she is coming to accept her past and focus on building on the strengths it has given her.
A new character may be giving Eric a run for his money, but I’m not sure if I like this guy or not. Only time will tell. However, I do think I’m going to like Eric’s mom! I hope she is included in future stories.
Once again the narration is spot on, with each personality brought out through a splendidly talented storytelling by Coleen Marlo.
Witty banter and a spunky main character create a delightfully entertaining vibe in this series and this book really brings it home. Vivid side characters (Hello, Ghost Grandma, I’m looking at you!) keep you giggling as Mitzy tries to figure out the mystery of who ran over the beloved town veterinarian. Of course she’ll need to do some fancy talking to keep the town Sheriff from tossing her in the clink for once again interfering in his investigations. Add in a tall, dark and handsome new guy in town that is stirring up all sorts of trouble for Mitzy and you have the perfect book to entertain the day away! The narrator does an excellent job of bringing life to already engaging characters and helping enhance the well written plot! I can’t see what happens next for Mitzy and gang in the next book!
reviewing this for the audiobook version:
Book itself was amazing, however I felt like the narrator could have held more passion in their tone for the reading of it. 5/5 for book and 3/5 for narrator.
This is the third book in the series. I have read it in the order written. I would encourage that because you will appreciate the growth of Mitzy, the main character. That growth is most noticeable in this book. I really loved how Mitzy is settling in with her “family,” which I believe is where her personal growth is coming from. By family, I am referring to more characters than her dad and ghostly Gram. Family is often people we choose. Mitzy is also becoming more comfortable with her gift and learning to use it. I have personally enjoyed the slow paced discovery and education of this part of the story. It allows me time to adjust along side of Mitzy.
There is a romance angle, of a sort. Mitzy has been smitten by a certain hot sheriff since she came to town. Aforementioned hot sheriff may, or may not, return the affection. Now, I don’t mind a background romance going on in my cozy mystery. Depending upon various factors, I don’t even mind when it goes from strike to home run in a few books. I can handle a triangle happening for a number of books that eventually goes one way or the other. There is something to be said for an uncertain relationship. Mitzy and Erick have chemistry. They also don’t always see eye to eye. So will they or won’t they? I don’t know but I’m having a fun time with the dance. In this book, we have a possible new dance partner enter the scene. I’ll leave that there for you to discover how that goes. Along with a brand new mystery or two that need to be solved. I never give out anything on that. I’m too afraid to spoil your fun. Go enjoy the book!
I absolutely love this series. Each book keeps getting better and better.
Can’t wait to read more in this series…Tricia Silverdale is such a amazing author…
This series gets better and better. Love the storyline in this book. The way Mitzi ties it all together. Once again the characters are awesome, makes me wish I could go visit. Looking forward to the next one.
This third book in the Mitzy Moon Mysteries series by Trixie Silvertale continues the wild, funny, wacky and so very entertaining world of Mitzy Moon and her antics as she again attempts to solve another mystery while helping out her “secret crush” sheriff, unofficially of course. Once again there is a superb mix of the paranormal, magic, ghost and of course, you certainly can’t forget about that super-smart cat, Pyewacket. I can’t wait to read book 4. This is a voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Hidden Gems Books.
This is so so good and so different from other books in the genre! I love Mitzy, and Silas well we all need a Silas in our life! So it’s Rory for real or should she good putt for the Sheriff? I just wish i had a ghost ma to keep me in the jimmy choos i know i should be accustomed to!
