Really good read with a powerful storyline and some really strong characters that you were made to care about. I loved the relationships between the characters and the book kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
Wine Thief by Mary Billiter is the fifth book in the Resort Romance series and follows the life choices of Chloe and what reasons has caused to her to rethink her life and move to the Napa Valley with her sister.
Chloe has had a hard year, but she decided to leave what she knew behind in Southern California and moved to the Napa Valley to work in the Wine Industry as a Wine Educator. Her sister decided they need a trip on the wine train to get Chloe into role before she starts her job for real, but all that changes when they arrive at the train and are welcomed by Tony and his group for his friends Bachelor party. Chloe realises she has a instant attraction to Tony and as they go forward on the train she becomes more attracted to him, but she royally embarrasses herself.
Tony is using the trip with his college brothers as a cover for the real job in hand, as Tony works in the world of Corporate Intelligence he needs to find the mother vine to be able to go back to his employer, but Chloe has thrown a curve ball into the mix as he is having strong feelings towards her and is feeling guilty dragging her into this mess.
I have read all the books in this series and I have to say this was my favourite book out of the series, the character of Chloe reminds me so much of myself, clumsy and awkward in certain conversations and situations. I always love the dual point of views which the story follows and the internal struggles both characters had with the relationship and partnership in the task ahead. The story is well written and is always a page turner, the characters are rich and you feel like you are part of the story which I always love to escape.
I can’t wait for the next book in this great series and I love that each book within this series is a different story with a different twist. Thank you Mary for these great stories.
I’ve read a few books by this author and she seems to just keep the wow factor up. Little bit of danger and mystery in this book but I love it. The description keeps me flipping the pages wanting more. I haven’t read a lot of this series but this book is definitely worth a second read or for the new readers a first read. You find yourself wanting more which is what a good book does!
Mary Billiter is a new author to me, but the title and blub had me, a book about Napa Valley and Wine, Yes Please! Chole and Tony are great characters and this was a good modern day romance with a little mystery mixed in, like keep me turning the pages. You will learn a lot about wine that I want to go on a wine train now. But unfortunately, there might have been too much information that it overpowered the story a little. Mary Billiter writing is well written but at times maybe a little too descriptive. I hate to say that because I wish some author were more descriptive in their writing. I am looking forward to going back and reading the other books in this series.
Wine Thief by Mary Billiter is another great book by this author. I have read several other of her books and I enjoy each one. I love a romance book with a little mystery and intrigue thrown in to keep it interesting. This book is part of the Resort Romance series, but you do not need to read the other books in this series to understand this one. I do however recommend you read the other books in the series because they are great reads.
What do you do when your life gets turned upside down, you start a new life over. That is exactly what Chloe Dorsey did, she moved in with her sister and started a new job at a local winery. An outing on a wine train brings her face to face with Anthony. Their chemistry is instantaneous, but Chloe is worried that feeling an attraction to Anthony is too soon. As they get to know each other Anthony tells her a secret that could cost her everything. There is a wine thief among them. Can she solve the mystery of the wine thief? Will knowing the identity of the wine thief break her heart?
The characters of this book were phenomenal. You will instantly connect with them. The chemistry between Chole and Anthony is off the charts, but he also shows a softer side with how he treats her. Also, some of the more intimate scenes may set the sheets on fire. I was hooked on this storyline. When I got to the end of the book I was stunned with the ending. I can’t wait for you to read this book. I am excited to see what else Mary Billiter has in store for me.
Wine Thief by Mary Billiter
Stars: 4
The Wine Thief has romance and mystery! I loved Chloe! She is learning to love again and is taking care of herself after the loss of her husband. She is hilarious, witty, and calm in the face of conflict. Chloe isn’t a weak damsel in distress, but a strong partner, who is trying to help others. As for Tony, I also enjoyed reading about him, but not as much as Chloe. Tony’s and Chloe’s chemistry built throughout the story! I loved the strong initial connection they had at the beginning! As a couple, they fit well together.
I really enjoyed reading this story. There are so many elements in this story to love, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Wine Thief by Mary Billiter is the fifth book in the Resort Romances Series and another great one in the series. This is a contemporary romance with some mystery included. You can read Wine Thief as a standalone as they take place at different resorts. Chloe moves to Northern California to start fresh. She was hired as a wine educator at the Napa Valley Point Resort and Winery. Tony has the ability to steal secrets, that was until he runs into Chloe, who can destroy all his plans. Will Chloe be able to stop the Wine Thief? Or will her heart tell her something else?
Mary Billiter has another hit with Wine Thief. Her writing flows, is descriptive and very engaging. The characters are well developed and believable. The book keeps you in suspense with the twists and turns that are throughout the story. I highly recommend Wine Thief.
This book was such a fun read! As a wine lover, I thoroughly enjoyed the Napa setting and wine theme in this story. Chloe has just stored most of her belongings and cashed in for a beautiful, fancy car to move from Southern California to Napa to live with her sister and brother in law. After years of stagnant life, it’s time for a fresh start as a wine educator at the famed Napa Valley Point Resort and Winery. This is how she meets Tony, a corporate spy for another local winery, and sparks fly. I loved the idea behind this story, which I won’t reveal much of, and the science behind the details. I actually learned a lot about wine while reading this book! This is a great, quick read for anyone who enjoys wine and some romance. I give “Wine Thief” five stars!
This is the 5th book in the Resort Romances Series although all can be read as stand-alones. I haven’t read any of the others in the series and this is my first book by Mary Billiter and I can say that she’s an author that I’d like to read more from as I loved this book.
Having packed up her life and moved across the country to live with her sister, Chloe Dorsey is starting her new life with a new job as a wine educator in one of the country’s top wineries. As she knows nothing about wine she embarks on a wine train to get some insight into what her new job will involve. Here she meets Tony Mahoney who is a corporate spy who is trying to gain information from her new employer. Needless to say sparks fly between Chloe and Tony immediately, which surprises Chloe as she has felt nothing romantically or sexually since the tragic death of her husband three years before. When she realises what Tony is up to, the two of them join together to work out who the wine thief is.
This book is very well written and the characters are believable. There is a lot of mystery and intrigue which keeps you gripped through the story. Although this book is very witty and had loads of fun, if you are anything like me, you will need to have some tissues handy as there was one particular scene that had me sobbing like a baby, a real ugly cry. If you read this amazing book, which I recommend that you do, you’ll know exactly what scene I mean.

Chloe is a woman who is trying to make a new start in life. It brings her to a new job at the Napa Valley Point Resort and Winery. Anthony is a man who is searching for the mother vine to the resort’s award winning wine. These two start working together however not everything is as it seems to be. When secrets are uncovered how will Chloe and Anthony’s careers be affected? Their attraction to each other is undeniable. Will they find their HEA? There are other characters that you are introduced to in the story that have their part to play and I enjoyed reading about them as well. This story will have you turning pages to find out what happens next. It also gives you that heartwarming feeling when you read of two people falling in love. This is a well-written story with characters that you will not soon forget. Grab your favorite glass of wine and settle in for a story that you are sure to love.
Wine Thief is the fifth book in the Resort Romances series by Mary Billiter and my favourite so far. Even though it is part of a series it can be read as a standalone. I really enjoy reading Mary’s books as she is a natural storyteller and her words just flow from the page. The story is engaging and the characters are natural and you walk the walk with them every inch of the way. The Wine Thief is fun and witty, romantic and sweet with a good storyline. Who is the Wine Thief and can they unravel the mystery behind them? Find a quiet spot and enjoy the read. I know I did.
Wine Thief by Mary Billiter is part of the Resort Romance Standalone Series. This series is great honestly I haven’t read one that I don’t love yet, Wine Thief is no different. Chloe is trying to start over and move on and she meets Tony on a wine train her sister makes her go on to learn more about wine. They each have their secrets but one secret can destroy the other person. You have to read this story. Just like all the others in the series, it has that unique push and pull to keep you wanting more. By the end of the story your still trying to figure out what happened who did what and finally all the pieces fall together and all you can think is wow.
Wine Thief by Mary Billiter is a fascinatingly enjoyable story. This author has a knack for writing stories full of substance, intrigue and that garner a reader’s interest. The way that the romance of the story was interwoven with the suspense and mystery that was loaded in was thoroughly well done. To some this story may feel overloaded in parts, but the author handles it well keeping a flow that does not drag. The characters were well developed and well rounded, to include the dialogue. Another wonderful story by Mary Billiter within the Resort Romances series.
“After everything we’ve been through- it’s finally over.”
“No,” he said with a tender kiss, “it’s just the beginning.”
I have been slowly reading my way through the Resort Romances Series from Mary Billiter and I must say they really have shown Mary’s work progressing in true perfection. I continuously think that the book I just finished was better than the last even when I didn’t think that they could get any better. That is truly a great thing to find in a series of novels.
In Wine Thief we get the story of Chloe Dorsey. Chloe has been doing everything in her power to attempt to escape her haunting and demolishing past. Here she meets the ever gorgeous Anthony. The instant chemistry between he two is red-hot and steamy in all the right ways. Will a secret that Anthony drops on Chloe be the end of their relationship and their jobs? What happens when Chloe learns about a wine thief amongst them? And when she discovers who it is will she be prepared to handle the truth behind their identity?
Mary blends the perfect amounts of romance and mystery into this story of forgiveness. I was captured within the first few chapters and found myself devouring the whole novel from beginning to end in just one perfect afternoon. I especially enjoyed the twist at the ending and it left me wanting to know what will come next in this series! I can’t wait to get my hands on book six!
This book is part of the Resort Romance series and can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed this book as much as the previous ones. Her characters are connectable and relateable. They took me on an emotional roller coaster ride that made me laugh one minute and feel compassion the next. This is a story about Chloe. She just wants to leave her past behind and start her life new so that she can heal. What she didn’t expect was to find him along the way. I highly suggest reading this book.

Wine Thief by Mary Billiter is a romance/mystery story. This is not my first book by this author and I just love the ways she grabs you and makes you apart of the story. The first couple of chapters were rough for me personally because I do not know anything about wine but that did not make me stop reading the whole book. In this book we meet Chloe who is leaving her past life in southern California and is moving to northern California. She finds a job on a resort as a Wine Tour Guide. This is where she meets Tony. There is something about Tony that peaks Chloe’s interest. Will Chloe ever find out what the true story about Tony? Just sit back and enjoy the show (I mean book).

I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, mystery, and forgiveness. You will fall in love with these characters right from the start. Chloe is very strong from what she had to go through. She is a sweetheart trying to move on from her past. Anthony is very handsome and also very smart. He takes his job very seriously. The way he treats Chloe will make you swoon. These two characters have some steamy scenes that will make you want to take a cold shower. This talented author will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. The ending left me in complete shock. I can’t wait to see what this author will write for us next.

I’ve read quite a few books by Mary before and I’ve enjoyed them all and have a few favorites this being one of them. I found this story to have good writing and a good flow about it. It was also well developed too. It had a good plot with plenty of secrets and pasts to keep you entertained. I really liked how the author used details like the vineyards, the valleys even the sea breeze and such to paint a vivid picture in my mind. I’d recommend this book.
I give 5 stars to Wine Thief written by Mary Billiter. This is the 4th book in the story but each book can be read as a standalone read.
I’ve come to enjoy this author’s book from a friends recommendation.
I absolutely love how the main characters are complete opposites and clash but the heart wants what it wants and there is no stopping it.
Anthony “Tony” Mahoney first mission was to find the mother vine of the award winning wine which can only be located at the Napa Valley Point Resort and Winery. That was until he met and clashed with Chloe Dorsey, having just been newly hired at the resort as a wine educator, she’s not about to let anyone mess up her position so she’s on to the stopping the wine thief. But with Tonys unbelievable great skills at uncovering secrets can she protect her wine? With emotions and heat running from the both of them can they come out of this with both hearts and dreams unbroken?
