Second grade teacher, Becca Haddaway, is weeks away from walking down the aisle with her high school sweetheart when she learns that the Heron Island Elementary School is about to be shut down. In the midst of a whirlwind of wedding planning, she launches into a last-ditch effort to save it. But the one man who can help her is determined to make her question every decision she has ever … made—including the man she’s about to marry.
Veteran Navy SEAL and son of the current Maryland governor, Colin Foley, is finally starting to feel whole again after losing his leg on a career-ending deployment in Afghanistan. After struggling for months to figure out what to do with his post-military life, he’s found a new mission—opening a rehab center for wounded veterans on the peaceful Chesapeake Bay island. All he needs now is a woman to share his new life with…and he knows exactly who he wants. With a little help from the island’s magical wind chimes, can Colin convince Becca to change her mind before it’s too late?

Book was amazing from the very first chapter. Kept me reading..falling for character after character as they were introduced and wondering what was going to happen next.
The writing made me feel like I was each and every character…and I was gasping, shaking my head and feeling a little bit like he deserved it at the end.
Colin was always going to be a hit in my eyes but as expected his story wasn’t going to be one that ran smoothly.
This series doesn’t shy away from addressing sensitive subjects, which I commend the author for. The series is well written, fascinating and compelling and an absolute hit on Audible.
I can’t wait to read on especially as Ryan’s story is next.
Fun read!
3.5 Second Thoughts Stars. This is the second book in the Wind Chime series. It is entertaining, has wonderful characters, is set on a charming island in Maryland, and lends some insights into PTSD and the trouble that our vets have acclimating to society after extended deployments.
Becca is a second-grade teacher on Heron Island. She’s grown up on this island and had never thought she’d leave it. Her dreams all center around Heron Island. However, her fiancé has a different opinion and he long ago ditched the island for life in DC. Now, Becca is about to make the move and she’s having a few qualms about it all. Colin grew up in the DC lifestyle and he’s been over it for a very long time. That’s why he originally joined the Navy and became a SEAL. Now he’s out of the Navy due to injuries and trying to find his place in the “normal” world. He’s found it and his mission on Heron Island. He also found Becca the first night on the island but also found out she is engaged. He isn’t convinced that Tom is the right person for Becca. Can he convince her of that?
Wind Chime Wedding is a story of hope, betrayal, family, friendships, and finding your place.
I’d like to add that Sophie Moss delivers a smooth, easy to read story with believable characters in a realistic setting. While you get romance and the second chance love story you don’t miss the sexy passion that so many books have today. Colin may be another injured SEAL but he’s just another man who is looking for love. Becca has been with the same man forever and is planning her wedding but the minute she connects with Colin she knows something is missing. There’s plenty keeping the two of them connected and more hidden mysteries to resolve. I may have to try another Wind Chime book soon.
I am enjoying this Wind Cimes series.
Great read
What a great place to live! I really enjoyed this book! The characters were real and likeable. The storyline was believable and kept me coming back. There is one sex scene for those who want to know. I want to read the rest of the series because Ms. Moss made me care about the whole town. I can’t wait to read their stories!
I really enjoyed this book and the storyline was excellent. Great ending.
