When single mother, Annie Malone, purchases a quirky Main Street café on Heron Island, she thinks she’s finally turned her dream of opening her own restaurant into a reality. Hearing rumors that a developer is about to build a five-star resort on the sleepy Chesapeake Bay island, she plans to transform the café into a premier upscale bistro. But Navy SEAL, Will Dozier, has no intention of selling … selling his grandparents’ property to a developer. Back on Heron Island for the first time in ten years and secretly struggling with PTSD, Will decides that a fling with the new girl is the perfect way to help him “get his head straight.” The last thing Will expects is to fall in love… with his hometown and with Annie. But Will’s life and career are in San Diego with the SEALs. Can Annie’s love and the healing magic of the island be enough to convince him to stay?

LOVED THESE BOOKS
Taylor, age eight, suffers from post traumatic stress syndrome following a shooting incident at her Washington DC elementary school. Will suffers from post traumatic stress syndrome after losing two Seal team members in Afghanistan. Annie, Taylor’s mom, has moved to an island to fulfill her dream of owning a cafe. These three main characters are joined by a collection of residents of the island, and the plot unfolds as an unscrupulous business man tries to buy Will’s in to create a massive resort. This novel is charming and heartwarming. The author shows how people deal with recovery after trauma. An amazing book.
The book was sweet, for someone who likes romance novels. I prefer a bit more substance. It was pretty predictable. I liked reading about the setting.
Light reading that tugs on your heart and offers a happy ending!
A beautiful and well written story addressing extremely relevant issues with a soft touch. Very effective!
Wind Chime Cafe works as a cozy mystery. The location is perfect for books that will follow.. especially since the characters created are interesting…
Light reading.
i enjoyed it very much. i look forward to reading the others. it says a lot when I read a book without taking a break.
Great realistic and informative story. I enjoyed the characters and the setting.
Loved this book
I definitely plan on reading more of her books in this series.
Easy reading.
One of my Favorite Series!!!
I really enjoyed this book. It had a lot of drama and was very realistic.
I enjoyed it but it was not a page turner for me. Somewhat drawn out in the aspects of the character’s problems. The end was predictable.
This is romantic drivel. There is nothing interesting or different about this novel. It’s just stereotypical nonsense.
