When single mother, Annie Malone, purchases a quirky Main Street café on Heron Island, she thinks she’s finally turned her dream of opening her own restaurant into a reality. Hearing rumors that a developer is about to build a five-star resort on the sleepy Chesapeake Bay island, she plans to transform the café into a premier upscale bistro. But Navy SEAL, Will Dozier, has no intention of selling … selling his grandparents’ property to a developer. Back on Heron Island for the first time in ten years and secretly struggling with PTSD, Will decides that a fling with the new girl is the perfect way to help him “get his head straight.” The last thing Will expects is to fall in love… with his hometown and with Annie. But Will’s life and career are in San Diego with the SEALs. Can Annie’s love and the healing magic of the island be enough to convince him to stay?

I really liked this story, the characters, the setting. I was a little teary at the end, which doesn’t happen very often.
Wind Chime Cafe offers believable characters, a strong plot and (of course) the typical happy ending. I couldn’t put this book down until I knew for sure things were going to work out though. Kept my interest to the last page!
enjoyed, would recommend
Great Read!!!
Enjoyed it !
slightly different from the usual “brave single mother” story, but not enough to recommend it.
loved the book enough to buy the other two
I loved it!
Although I knew from the beginning how it would turn out, it was still a good read. It was interesting how the story developed, especially about Taylor. With today’s current climate, I really was happy to see how Taylor’s problems evolved and came to a somewhat happy conclusion. Also, the romance was very good. It was an easy, good read.
Such a lovely, thought provoking book!
I really enjoyed this story. The characters became my neighbors and the story kept me awake, thinking about what was happening. There was romance but as part of the story, not slathering sexuality all over it. And I loved that the people cared about each other (except for those that didn’t). Made me want to read stories about the other characters in the book. Get to know them better and what happened in their lives. Like I said, I came to know and care about these ‘people’.
I enjoyed this book very much. PTSD is a very real issue that too many of our veterans are dealing with. In this book, we see 2 characters dealing with a trauma that has left them struggling to deal with some everyday situations. A navy seal & a child connect & are able to help each other find ways to cope. Now throw in a sweet love story between the mother of the child & the Navy SEAL & you’ve got yourself a good read that you don’t want to put down. I highly recommend this book.
I loved that book but it ended up in the air. The next book cost $5.99. I can’t afford that much for a book. Disappointed.
Honestly, I picked this title because it was a bargain and I needed something to read on the plane. I was soon captivated by the characters and, for the first time in a while, did not predict the ending half way through the book. Moss creates some strong emotional situations that had me teary eyed (on the plane!). I truly appreciate her positive portrayals and respect for those serving in the military.
Very readable, really enjoyed the caracters
Great character development, an inside look at PTSD and healing.
Enjoyed the characters, sorry when the story came to an end.
Fairly predictable plot but enjoyable. Don’t think I will necessarily but more of the series. If it comes up free, I would.
Enjoyable, easy to read romantic story that incorporates a serious issue in today’s world.
A light read yet the kind of book I enjoy. Good characters and descriptive of a nice place to visit. Three cheers for people who want to keep things protected from commercialism.
