When single mother, Annie Malone, purchases a quirky Main Street café on Heron Island, she thinks she’s finally turned her dream of opening her own restaurant into a reality. Hearing rumors that a developer is about to build a five-star resort on the sleepy Chesapeake Bay island, she plans to transform the café into a premier upscale bistro. But Navy SEAL, Will Dozier, has no intention of selling … selling his grandparents’ property to a developer. Back on Heron Island for the first time in ten years and secretly struggling with PTSD, Will decides that a fling with the new girl is the perfect way to help him “get his head straight.” The last thing Will expects is to fall in love… with his hometown and with Annie. But Will’s life and career are in San Diego with the SEALs. Can Annie’s love and the healing magic of the island be enough to convince him to stay?

Down0-to-earth characters and unusual plot. I enjoyed it.
Good fun read. Has enough tension to be interesting and yet the ending is predictable.
I loved this story. It was a moving, romantic story that had you rooting for the hero and heroin. A touching story that makes tragedy into happiness.
It is a book with a live story, but also family and local characters that you really enjoy.
Another instance of hurting hearts overcoming obstacles and learning to love again. Add a wonderful dog to the mix and what more could you want? Well written – flows well. Good character development.
Loved this inspiring page turner. Great author who weaves an intriguing story with wonderful characters.
Such a great book, easy to read and fall in love with the characters
Enjoyed it.
Enjoyed it very much!
I really loved this book. Ended up reading the entire series. I’m so glad to find this author-I really enjoyed her books. I also found and read her earlier series and enjoyed that just as much! I’m so looking forward to her next book.
I couldn’t wait to see how it would all fit together. I got involved with the characters and will buy the next in the series.
Slightly above average romance novel with the requisite amount of sex.
Sweet story
Fun, easy read!
Even though the reader knows the main characters will end up together the troubles that haunt them both were unique. I like reading about small towns and everyone knowing one another’s business. This location was quaint and made me want to be there.
I enjoyed this book even though you knew the guy was going to get the girl in the end. I think this is a series and would be willing to read the next book too.
Great romance!
I loved this book! A wonderful story of new beginnings, healing and hope.
I live in the Baltimore metro area. The location intrigued me.
Wonderfully written with a modern day plot
